Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1344: Chapter 1343: This Is Only the First Step

Just like that, Fang Zheng swaggered off from the Gold Mountain Monastery with Xu Xian, Bai Suzhen, and the others, while Dugu Sword Saint and Fahai watched them leave helplessly. Dugu Sword Saint was already no match for Fang Zheng, and finding Zen Master Fahai to join forces made no difference. This left Dugu Sword Saint deeply concerned.

Fahai was even more disheartened. His greatest blow wasn’t that he couldn’t defeat Fang Zheng, but that he couldn’t even out-argue him. All the monks at the Gold Mountain Monastery had heard their debate, and unless he killed them all, the discussion would surely spread. By then... what would he do? What would happen to the Gold Mountain Monastery?

Truly, I have let down the Buddha, let down the Buddha!

Thinking of this, Fahai was both anxious and angry, and he blacked out and fainted.

”Abbot!”

”Zen Master!”

Seeing Fahai collapse, the crowd became chaotic, but these trivial matters were no longer of any concern to Fang Zheng.

”Immortal, you are truly amazing!!”

Leaving the Gold Mountain Monastery, Little Qing excitedly ran to Fang Zheng’s side, expressing her admiration.

”You actually made that old bald-head spew blood... that’s incredible!!”

Little Qing was thrilled, as yokai were used to proving themselves with actions, not words. Previously, they were rendered speechless by Fahai, but seeing him literally vomit blood from anger due to Fang Zheng, Little Qing was filled with admiration for Fang Zheng.

However, Fang Zheng merely waved his hand with a smile.

”It’s actually quite simple. The stuff Buddhism talks about can’t stand scrutiny; it’s all about afterlife benefits and other such vague things. Just focus on the present life with them, and they’re sure to falter.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng looked at Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen.

”What do you two plan to do next?”

”May I ask what you mean by this, Immortal?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Bai Suzhen respectfully bowed and asked, while Fang Zheng shrugged.

”You’ve seen it yourselves, that old bald-head Fahai won’t let this go easily. If you stay here, even if Fahai doesn’t bother you, others might come looking for trouble with this reason or that. What do you plan to do?”

”This...”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen exchanged a troubled glance. As Fang Zheng pointed out, even if Fahai gave up, if someone saw through Bai Suzhen and Little Qing’s true identities as yokai, trouble might arise with ”demon exorcism”.

Being a scholar, although a bit old-fashioned, Xu Xian was quick-witted and understood that Fang Zheng surely had an idea when he asked. Therefore, he hurriedly saluted Fang Zheng respectfully.

”I humbly ask for your guidance, Immortal.”

”Hmm, there’s not much guidance I can give. You heard what I just said, there’s been water monster chaos, drought for ten years, and constant wars in Miao Territory. Although I’ve handled the water monster, there’s still a lack of doctors and medicine. If you’re interested, why not go there to support the frontier’s construction?”

”This...”

Hearing this, Xu Xian hesitated. Indeed, as a doctor, saving lives is his Heavenly Duty. However, Miao Territory is far away, and in this era, reaching it is akin to going abroad to Africa to support third-world brothers.

”It’s okay, you can think about it.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng took out a gemstone and handed it to Little Qing.

”Decide and come find me; also, regarding your backgrounds, I think it’s best to be honest with your family.”

”But...”

”Can you hide it forever? They’ll find out sooner or later. Besides, have you harmed anyone over this time? If not, why worry? Relax, I have a feeling your family can accept this.”

After saying this, Fang Zheng waved and left. Presently, he wasn’t too worried about Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen. After all, Fahai barely escaped with his life, and if he dared seek trouble again, Fang Zheng wouldn’t just make him spew blood.

After dealing with Bai Suzhen’s issue, Fang Zheng returned to Miao Territory and began his plan to spread Nuwa’s Holy Sect.

This time, Fang Zheng didn’t follow the practices of Taoism and Buddhism. Taoism focuses on transcendence, playing its own games, serving no purpose except infighting. Buddhism focuses on the afterlife, equally pointless. Though Fang Zheng knew reincarnation was real here, what difference did it make?

Could you broadcast live nationwide with the Underworld and pass judgment on the spot? In any case, after drinking Meng Po’s soup, all of one’s past life memories are gone. Who cares if they were virtuous or wicked in their past life?

So in this regard, Fang Zheng instead followed the Order Sanctuary’s practice—yes, he brought the Main World’s sanctuary system here!

In the Main World, sanctuaries are somewhat like Everything Houses, doing almost anything. Of course, Holy Knights mainly fight Chaos and maintain order, but as long as the people have difficulties, they’d help. Whether a kitten was stuck in a tree, a fire started, or a legal dispute arose, the sanctuary also carried out education... one could say sanctuaries effectively performed all public service roles like police, fire, judiciary, prosecutors, and compulsory education.

This is why Main World sanctuaries aren’t reviled like certain churches of light in online novels—they genuinely serve the people with all their hearts. What more could you ask?

Fang Zheng chose Miao Territory because it was theocratic, making implementation easier. He wouldn’t foolishly attempt a separation of church and state in a land teeming with gods and yokai. Here wasn’t the real world, and the clergy here didn’t just talk big—they actually did things.

Especially considering many yokai were innately wicked.

Moreover, the Witch Queen’s position was quite suitable. She’s the Witch Queen of the Black Miao Tribe and their chief authority, also the High Priest of the White Miao Tribe, perfectly merging political and religious roles.

Given that Nuwa’s line only births one child, and only girls... this status indeed seems inseparable.

Since the entire Miao Territory awaited revival, Fang Zheng immediately started his plan. Upon experimenting, Fang Zheng found his idea quite fitting.

The Black Miao Tribe’s combat strength mainly lies in males. Men, good at frontal combat, are qualified as Holy Knights. The White Miao Tribe primarily consists of women skilled in various Gu and spells—a combination of mages and priests, perfect for cultivating as Priests and Clerics.

Moreover, Fang Zheng also recruited many yokai!

Perhaps due to Miao Territory being Nuwa’s final resting place, it had more creatures turned spirits than elsewhere, with yokai of all kinds—Peach Blossom Spirits, Serpent Spirits, Old Eagles, you name it, covering sky, land, and water.

And following Fang Zheng’s declaration of acceptance, many yokai ”came admiringly” and joined his ranks!
