Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1330: Chapter 1329: Are There Magical Girls in This World Too?

The reason why Fang Zheng dislikes the Sect of the Immortal Sword is actually the same as why he can’t unleash a slaughter in the Black World.

The reason is simple: it’s impossible.

Just as Fang Zheng told Lin Yueru and Zhao Ling’er, even if he kills all the Yokai in this world now, after decades or centuries, there will still be new Yokai and Evil Spirits from wrongful deaths will emerge.

The same goes for the Black World. The Cursed Children are indeed pitiful, but can Fang Zheng let the Swarm kill all the adults in the Black World, leaving only the Cursed Children?

What about those just born? And those yet to be born?

More importantly, the Cursed Children wouldn’t accept such a method.

To completely solve this problem, a comprehensive plan is needed. Just as Fang Zheng did in the Black World, he didn’t let the Zerg kill all the adults there but controlled the human leaders through the Swarm, enacting laws favorable to the Cursed Children, gradually building an environment without prejudice against them.

However, the Sect of the Immortal Sword’s approach is to push all Yokai to the opposite side of humans, just like Cerberus and the Fire Mist Warriors. If Cerberus had enough power to wipe out all non-human civilizations in the Milky Way like the Reapers, the Star Alliance would inevitably collude with Cerberus.

The same goes for the Fire Mist Warriors. If you have the ability to get rid of all Followers of the Crimson Realm so that they dare not come to the mortal world, people would surely cheer behind you.

But can Cerberus do that? Can the Fire Mist Warriors do that?

Of course not.

And if you can’t, yet you still want to threaten the other side, that’s just being a foolish teammate.

In Fang Zheng’s view, the Sect of the Immortal Sword is actually a foolish teammate.

What use is there in what they are doing now? Yokai cannot be completely eradicated. As generations of the Sect of the Immortal Sword pass on, the Yokai will likely continue to multiply, even if the sect disbands. In the meantime, who knows, there might be countless innocent bystanders who perish, similar to the conflict between the Fire Mist Warriors and the Followers of the Crimson Realm.

So in facing such a situation, you either learn from the Ritual Snake and create a Void Domain for the Followers of the Crimson Realm to play in themselves.

Or guide the Yokai to integrate into human norms.

The so-called ”attract some, divide some, and strike some” is exactly this.

An approach like that of the Sect of the Immortal Sword, in Fang Zheng’s eyes, doesn’t even count as being a foolish teammate—Fang Zheng doesn’t consider them as teammates at all.

”Help me...”

However, just after Fang Zheng’s contemplation, suddenly, a faint voice reached his ears.

”Hmm? Who’s there?”

Hearing this voice, Fang Zheng was stunned for a moment and returned to his senses. At that moment, the voice reached his ears again.

”I beg you, help me...”

Wait, could this be...

Hearing this, Fang Zheng paused for a second and then suddenly thought of something.

He is a quasi-god, and this is... a prayer from a believer?

Wait, I haven’t founded any sect in this world, have I?

Anyway, let’s go see what’s going on!

With this in mind, Fang Zheng didn’t hesitate any longer. He quickly closed his eyes and began to carefully listen to the voice. Soon, a scene appeared before him—it was a forest of withered yellow trees that appeared polluted, with a large white spider web in its midst.

At the center of the web, a young girl with a bare midriff and beautiful wings on her back was trapped, watching in terror as a giant spider slowly approached her.

Hmm? Why does this scene seem so familiar?

Seeing this scene, Fang Zheng was a bit bewildered. But what puzzled him more was that the scene seemed to depict two Yokai, so why did the prayer reach him?

Wait a minute, I remember the system mentioning that Magical Girl particularly refers to [beings in the form of young girls with special powers]... come to think of it, a Yokai becoming a spirit could indeed be part of that category?

Oh my... realizing this, Fang Zheng felt a bit awkward, so Yokai becoming a spirit equals career change to Magical Girl... this doesn’t seem like it should be the same path, well, it’s not the time to think about these questions now, let’s save this Yokai girl first!

With a flash of Radiance, Fang Zheng vanished from the airship without a trace.

”Help... Help...”

The Yokai girl, tightly bound in the web, could only cry out in despair. Hearing her cries, the giant Spider Demon laughed eerily.

”I never imagined I would catch such a delectable prey; I advise you to revert to your original form, little butterfly... you’ll end up in my belly sooner or later. Haha, if I eat you, I’ll gain another thousand years of cultivation, then...”

However, the Spider Demon’s words went no further.

”It’s high noon, and justice descends!”

With an angry shout, the burning Pitch Black Greatsword fell from the sky, piercing the giant spider’s body. The Spider Demon didn’t expect someone to come from the sky, and let out a painful scream as it struggled and rolled frantically, but in a blink, the burning Primordial Fire consumed it, leaving only ashes.

Fang Zheng raised his Greatsword, waved it forward, and blazing Primordial Fire spread in all directions, incinerating the webs in the forest. The spiders, too, fled desperately under the burning Primordial Fire, but Fang Zheng had no intention of letting them go, burning them all with one sweep.

The girl with butterfly wings, now freed, sat down on the ground. She looked in fear at Fang Zheng, not daring to breathe, for his sudden appearance was intimidating. The Spider Demon was equally skilled, even more so than the Butterfly Girl, yet was felled as effortlessly as chopping vegetables by this man who descended from the sky...

”Hmm?”

However, just as Fang Zheng pulled out his Greatsword, he was surprised to find in the ashes of the Spider Demon a Spiritual Jewel containing great energy... wait, isn’t this the Thunder Orb?

”Oh...”

Seeing the Jewel and then looking at the Butterfly Girl, Fang Zheng immediately remembered, isn’t this the part with the Venomous Lady and the Butterfly Spirit in the Immortal Sword?

Seems my luck isn’t too bad.

With this thought, Fang Zheng sheathed his Greatsword and strode over to the Butterfly Spirit. Seeing Fang Zheng approaching, the Butterfly Spirit quickly lowered her head and respectfully bowed to him.

”Little girl Aya, thank you Celestial Immortal for the rescue!”

”No need to be polite, just to confirm, it was you calling for help earlier, right?”

Though Fang Zheng was sure, he asked to make sure, and Aya nodded.

”Yes, I was unfortunately captured by that Venomous Lady, in desperate danger, I cried for help, not expecting to disturb the Celestial Immortal...”

”It’s nothing, nothing, it was the right thing to do.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng glanced again at Aya, then waved his hand.

”Well then, I shall take my leave...”

”Please, Celestial Immortal, wait!”

However, just as Fang Zheng was about to turn and leave, Aya quickly stood and called out to him. Hearing her call, Fang Zheng turned back.

”Hmm? Is there anything else?”

”Um...”

At this, Aya’s face flushed slightly.

”Your grace in saving my life... I have nothing to repay you with but my hand in marriage...”

”...”

Come to think of it, isn’t that the typical ancient trope?
