Chapter 1326: Chapter 1325: The Ancient Immortal Hero Version of Resident Evil Begins

Since we’ve already obtained the Water Spirit Pearl, the next targets for Fang Zheng and his group are the Earth Spirit Pearl and Thunder Orb. So after leaving Black Mountain, everyone boarded the airship and flew straight towards Shirakawa Village.

After a busy day, everyone was somewhat weary, but fortunately, the airship had guest rooms with showers. Though Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yueru had never seen such things before, Fang Zheng simply asked Aika to teach them, and they quickly learned. So everyone took a hot shower and then went to bed. The next morning, shortly after finishing breakfast, the airship had already arrived at the location of Shirakawa Village.

”Looks like Shirakawa Village is not far from here.”

Standing on the deck, Fang Zheng nodded as he looked at the distant village.

”Find a place with no people, and let’s prepare to land.”

Hearing Fang Zheng speak, Lin Yueru curiously asked.

”Brother Fang, why don’t we just land directly in Shirakawa Village?”

”Because it’s troublesome...”

”Troublesome?”

Lin Yueru couldn’t quite understand Fang Zheng’s words. Her father, Lin Tiannan, had some connections with the Sect Leader of Shushan Immortal Sword Sect, and Lin Yueru had seen the Sword Saint several times. He would come and go as he pleased on his flying sword, never encountering any trouble. Moreover, Lin Yueru was at an impressionable age, so this gorgeous and grand airship naturally sparked her desire to show off. Thus, she didn’t understand Fang Zheng’s sneaky behavior.

However, concerning Lin Yueru’s suggestion, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders.

”You don’t understand? Fine, let me try it once, and you’ll see.”

After saying that, Fang Zheng directly operated the airship, flying it above Shirakawa Village, and began to descend slowly.

When the villagers of Shirakawa Village saw this strange airship, they shouted in surprise, and soon a crowd gathered in a panic. Fang Zheng then controlled the airship to stop on a grassy area outside Shirakawa Village, and he led a few people down from the ship.

Then...

”Immortal, Immortal!!”

Lin Yueru had just touched the ground when a sudden shout startled her. Before she could react, she saw a woman fall at her feet crying.

”Immortal, please show your divine power and save my entire family. My husband died early, and we have elderly and children. Now we’ve all been poisoned by the corpse. I’m begging you!”

”Yes, Immortal, please save us!!”

At this moment, others also gathered around, kneeling and begging for mercy in front of Fang Zheng’s group, leaving Lin Yueru speechless at the scene.

”See, I told you.”

Fang Zheng spread his hands helplessly at Lin Yueru, then he started to walk towards Shirakawa Village. Seeing Fang Zheng leave, everyone hurriedly followed, not daring to entangle further with the villagers.

Fortunately, these villagers didn’t dare to block Fang Zheng’s path, and seeing him leave, they didn’t dare to do anything. Fang Zheng walked directly to the entrance of Shirakawa Village, scanned around, and then spoke.

”Who is the village chief here?”

”It’s me, Immortal.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, an elderly man quickly stepped forward and respectfully bowed to Fang Zheng.

”Immortal, please save us...”

”You don’t have to do that, old man.”

Seeing the old man about to kneel, Fang Zheng quickly signaled Zhao Ling’er with a glance, and Zhao Ling’er understood immediately, rushing forward to support the elderly man.

”May I ask what exactly has happened here?”

”Recently, Black River Town, nearby, has been plagued by zombies, causing havoc. Our village also suffered from the disaster, as many refugees from Black River Town fled here. But now, zombies are everywhere, and we dare not step outside... Please save us, Immortal...”

”Where are the refugees?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng asked. Though he knew, it felt necessary to ask, following the flow of the game?

”Ah, most of these refugees are currently receiving treatment at Doctor Hann Xian’s place. I’ll take you there...”

The old village chief, perceptive and quick to act, promptly turned and led Fang Zheng and his group toward Doctor Hann Xian’s residence.

Halfway there, Lin Yueru noticed a large crowd queuing not far away, seemingly excited, as if purchasing something, prompting her curiosity.

”Old man, what is that merchant selling? Why is the business so lively?”

”Ah!”

Upon hearing Lin Yueru’s inquiry, the old village chief sighed.

”That’s the shop of Mr. Luo, selling sticky rice...”

”Why are so many people buying sticky rice? Are they making rice dumplings?”

”Ah, Immortal, you might not know. Due to the zombie outbreak, everyone in the village is on edge. Word has it that sticky rice can restrain zombies, so everyone wants to buy some for protection. But Mr. Luo has already bought out all the sticky rice in the surrounding areas. Now, this is the only place selling sticky rice, and it’s 10 times the market price! Ah...”

”What? How terrible!”

Upon hearing this, Lin Yueru widened her eyes.

”Such unscrupulous merchants, watch how I deal with him!”

”How do you plan to deal with him?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng asked curiously, and Lin Yueru answered confidently.

”I’ll beat him up and then make him give the sticky rice to the villagers!”

”Aren’t you afraid he’ll report you?”

”Afraid of what!”

Facing Fang Zheng’s question, Lin Yueru proudly tapped her chest.

”My father is the Lord of Lin Family Castle and the Martial Arts Alliance Hierarch. Our Lin family holds fame in Jiangnan, why should I fear a mere merchant?”

”...”

Oh, Fang Zheng had almost forgotten; Lin Yueru was indeed a true second-generation elite.

”Moreover, a beating is light punishment. If it were my father, he might cut off a hand as a warning!”

Wow... ancient times are truly terrifying...

But hoarding supplies for profit is indeed illegal...

”Don’t worry.”

Fang Zheng, quickly considering the situation, spoke to the old village chief.

”We came here to deal with these zombies. Once we eliminate them, you won’t have to worry about the zombie plague anymore.”

”That’s wonderful! Wonderful indeed!!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s assurance, the old village chief nodded excitedly, and while they spoke, the group finally arrived at Doctor Hann Xian’s clinic. This place was also packed, but the situation appeared dire, with most people lying on the ground, moaning. A girl wearing a blue floral jacket hurriedly moved in and out with trays of medicine. Clearly, the situation was alarming.

”Whoa... Are all these people from Black River Town?”

It was Lin Yueru’s first time seeing so many sick people, and she was shocked. The old village chief quickly nodded.

”Correct, many of these people were bitten by zombies and are infected with the corpse poison... Ah...”

Tsk tsk tsk, this is like an ancient version of Resident Evil.

Witnessing this scene, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but recall the zombie tides in Bio-World. At least zombies are scientific, while these zombies are not.

Yet Fang Zheng was unsure which scenario was better, considering zombies are easier to deal with—behead them—and zombies fear sticky rice...

In modern society, who knows which would pose a greater threat, zombies or ancient zombies?

”Whoa... Whoaaaaaa!!”

Amidst Fang Zheng’s wandering thoughts, suddenly a patient screamed, rolling around in evident agony. Seeing this, the surrounding people shrieked and backed away, while the old village chief’s face turned grave.

”Not good, this is the corpse poison attacking his heart!”

”Leave it to me.”

Having observed enough, Fang Zheng deduced that this ”corpse poison” was more like a curse than the T-virus from Resident Evil. He raised a finger and cast ”Remove Curse” directly on the patient. Instantly, a flash of Magic Radiance dispersed the black aura on his face, and he collapsed on the ground, but now appeared calm, no longer as terrifying.

Witnessing this, everyone widened their eyes in astonishment.

”Immortal!!!”
