Chapter 1336: Chapter 1335: Sure Enough, They’re Here to Crash the Ceremony

When Fang Zheng brought the Witch Queen into the room, almost everyone inside was stunned.

”High Priest!!”

The White Miao Chief immediately rushed over, kneeling in front of the Witch Queen, while Zhao Ling’er stood there, dumbfounded, staring at her mother. Her eyes were filled with tears, wanting to say something but unable to speak.

”My child...”

At this moment, the Witch Queen also saw Zhao Ling’er, or perhaps she had been focused entirely on her daughter since the moment she stepped in. She quickly walked over to Zhao Ling’er, reaching out with trembling hands. The Witch Queen’s memories of her daughter were still from before they escaped the royal palace, when she was a six-year-old girl. But now, ten years have flown by, and the once little girl has grown into a graceful young woman.

”Mother———!!”

At this moment, Zhao Ling’er also let out a scream, then threw herself into the Witch Queen’s arms, quickly making the mother and daughter weep bitterly. Seeing this scene, others couldn’t help but sigh deeply.

”Well, at least one thing has been resolved,”

Fang Zheng nodded satisfiedly at the sight, and at that moment, a hasty voice suddenly rushed in from outside the door.

”Mother! I’ve found the Wind Spirit Orb!”

Hearing this, everyone quickly looked toward the door and saw a fourteen-year-old girl dressed in Miao attire, happily rushing in, holding up a Wind Spirit Orb. Seeing the people in the room, the girl paused for a moment, and the White Miao Chief sighed helplessly, quickly rising.

”Anu, come greet the High Priest!”

”Eh? High Priest? Eh? High Priest?”

The girl named Anu stared wide-eyed with her mouth gaping like an egg, looking dumbstruck at the Witch Queen. After a while, she finally reacted, and quickly rushed to the Witch Queen.

”It really is the High Priest, High Priest, do you remember me? I am Anu! My mother and I once visited you... Why are you here? I heard from my mother that you were executed by that nasty Witch King?”

”That was fake.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng timely interjected.

”In fact, the real Witch King was killed by the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader ten years ago. After that, he found a tree spirit to impersonate the Witch King, and I killed him too. Now the Witch King... who knows if it’s some peach spirit or something...”

”What? Such a thing really happened?”

Hearing this, everyone present was taken aback, then looked toward the Witch Queen. The Witch Queen was silent for a moment, then nodded sadly.

”This...........”

For a while, no one knew what to say.

”Alright.”

Fang Zheng clapped his hands, breaking the somewhat awkward silence.

”Now that the five spirit pearls are gathered, we should consider what to do next... My opinion is this, since the Witch Queen... or rather, the High Priest has returned, we should first solve the drought problem. After resolving the drought, we will deal with the Black Miao Tribe. Of course, the Black Miao Tribe attacked the White Miao Tribe due to the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader’s deceitful words. I think we can play the Witch Queen card to refute the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader’s lies. Perhaps we can invite some of the reputable figures from the Black Miao Tribe to attend the rain ritual, allowing them to see clearly with their own eyes, and then inform them that the Witch King was already killed. If we can gain support from influential leaders within the Black Miao Tribe, we only need to deal with the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader’s henchmen and the Water Monster that hasn’t been fully burned yet.”

”Master’s words are indeed wise.”

The White Miao Chief nodded, Gaerjia had already retrieved the Fire Spirit Pearl, and now the Wind Spirit Orb was in hand. She also hoped to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Therefore, the White Miao Chief looked toward the Witch Queen, respectfully asking.

”Let’s hear the High Priest’s thoughts.”

”I have no objections.”

Although the Witch Queen might be naïve, she was still an adult, knowing the priority of things. Having reunited with her daughter, there would be plenty of opportunities for reunions. Right now, solving the drought issue in Miao Territory was most important, so the Witch Queen nodded, then immediately stood up to start preparations.

The White Miao people acted swiftly, the Witch Queen only exchanged a few words with Zhao Ling’er before starting to prepare the ritual. On the other side, the White Miao Chief asked Gaerjia to bring people to check out the situation at the Black Miao Tribe and inform them. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng called Lin Yueru, Nie Xiaoqian, and Aya over.

”Alright, now you all know, the Witch Queen is going to hold a ceremony next, but from my experience, typically, the villain boss will surely try to crash the event.”

”Mmhmm......”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Lin Yueru nodded; she’s been part of Fang Zheng’s ”game-testing group” for several days, able to understand the meaning of villain bosses and tropes.

”Tsukiru, Aya, I want you to stay with Ling’er, be cautious and keep an eye on surroundings. The Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader might send someone in to cause trouble... Little Qian, return to the airship, let Aika pause her current work, raise the airship to heights, head toward the altar to observe and monitor surroundings, report any anomalies immediately.”

”Got it, Brother Fang, leave it to me.”

At this point, Lin Yueru also firmly patted her chest, while Aya and Nie Xiaoqian softly bowed.

”Aya follows the Celestial Immortal’s order.”

”This girl understands.”

”Alright, let’s go.”

With Fang Zheng’s command, the three girls promptly departed, while Fang Zheng relaxed. He remained by the Witch Queen’s side, just in case, knowing the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader would surely try to meddle should he find out. Moreover, the Water Monster was a water-dwelling creature; on land it’s weak, in water, however, it’s its domain. If rain ritual is successful, the drought in Miao Territory solved, but at the same time giving the Water Monster a home-field advantage.

Fang Zheng is certain the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader will seize this opportunity to crash the event.

”Hey......”

At this moment, Fang Zheng suddenly felt someone tug on his clothes; he turned around, only to see the Miao girl, Anu, curiously eyeing him.

”Are you Fang Zheng? The Celestial Immortal descended from a white ship in the sky? You look like a Han, why help us? And how did you rescue the High Priest? I heard from my mother she was killed long ago, all these years no one’s found her...”

Anu’s little mouth chirping like a nightingale, rapidly speaking; her voice as pleasant. After all, in the game, Fang Zheng only saw dialogue text, couldn’t hear their voices—back then, voice acting wasn’t even a concept.

Hearing Anu’s inquiry, Fang Zheng was intrigued too, smiling at her.

”Want to know?”

”Of course?”

”Haha, won’t tell you.”

He reached out, pinched Anu’s cheek, chuckling before leaving. Anu stood dumbfounded, moments later stomping angrily upon realizing, wanting to find Fang Zheng already vanished.

Everyone acted swiftly, and soon after the airship rose again, preparations for the ritual were complete. From the Black Miao Tribe, some elders were sent to observe near the ceremony altar, among them a black eye-patched elder staring wide-eyed at the Witch Queen upon the altar.

However, for now, the ceremony had begun.

The Witch Queen placed the Five Spirit Pearl at five directions on the altar, then softly chanted, starting the rain prayer spell.

”O Gods of Heaven and Earth! By Lady Nuwa’s Holy Spirit name, I ask you to grant this land new life...”

Under the Witch Queen’s prayer, dense rain clouds gradually formed, blanketing the sky, soon pouring torrential rain.

”It’s raining! It’s raining!!”

Seeing rain descend, both White Miao and Black Miao people couldn’t help yell, though White Miao more out of excitement, while Black Miao more out of fear.

”Bad news, Lady Nuwa has manifested!!”

Numerous Black Miao soldiers discarded weapons, frenziedly fled. Not long after, half of the Black Miao soldiers already dispersed. They had initially attacked White Miao due to water scarcity, now drought ended, they weren’t inclined to continue fighting.

It seemed a crisis was thus resolved.

Yet Fang Zheng knew, things weren’t that simple.

”..........”

He could feel the ground subtly trembling, and simultaneously received a report from Aika.

”Father Master, instruments indicate life signs rapidly approaching from three o’clock direction!”

Hearing Aika’s report, Fang Zheng’s lips curled into a smile.

The Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader indeed came to crash the event.
