Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1341: Chapter 1340: Gentlemen, I Love War

Fang Zheng himself doesn’t really have any religious beliefs.

Of course, if you have to say it, he naturally prefers order and opposes chaos. But when it comes down to a specific deity, at least Buddhas and Gods didn’t appeal to Fang Zheng at all. Even with the Goddess of Order, Fang Zheng only respects her, but as for believing in her...

It’s really difficult to have faith in an extraterrestrial higher being who enjoys watching BL films, isn’t it...

Strictly speaking, for someone like Fang Zheng, who has embraced modern scientific knowledge, the only entity he might be willing to worship devoutly might be Nuwa.

After all, Nuwa fashioned humans from clay, and strictly speaking, she is the ancestor and mother of everyone on this land, so worshipping her is quite normal.

The reason Fang Zheng is considering these things is because he has no choice. He has accepted the mission of ”Original Source,” and the goal of this mission is quite simple - to restore the faith in Nuwa on this land. But... is it that simple?

On his way here, Fang Zheng also investigated the state of faith in this realm. As he previously mentioned, most of this world’s Divine Land is occupied by temples, and the remaining Taoist temples also worship the Three Pure Ones and Three Sovereigns.

And Nuwa, the ancestor of humanity and the Creator of all life, is actually forced to shrink into the Miao Territory, almost wiped out - can you believe it?!

If Fang Zheng wants Nuwa’s faith to regain its rightful place, he must launch a religious war to destroy all the deities that once participated in the destruction of Nuwa’s faith. This includes, but is not limited to, the Tathagata Buddha, the Bodhisattva Guanyin, Yuanshi Tianzun, the Celestial Emperor Fuxi...

In one word, all those listed above must be burned to death!

Leave not a single one!

The Western Celestials who invaded Divine Land and seized our destiny must die, and the Taoist Three Pure Ones who colluded with the Western cults to destroy our ancestral faith must be eradicated too!

Of course, having said so much, the most important thing is the stance, and Fang Zheng’s stance is naturally on Nuwa’s side.

Not to mention, theoretically, Nuwa is the ancestor of all living things in Divine Land. More importantly, Nuwa did not impose her will on people. She represents the spirit of all living creatures striving for self-rebellion and self-transcendence. Unlike the Taoist Three Pure Ones, who aim to transcend the mundane and avoid worldly suffering. They care only for themselves and disregard the people’s hardships.

Neither does she suppress wisdom and deceive people into conversion like Western Buddhism, threatening hell for those who don’t comply.

Therefore, Nuwa’s faith aligns with Fang Zheng’s aspiration to elevate the civilization level of the entire Immortal Hero World.

This also means he cannot compromise with the Taoist Three Pure Ones or the Western Tathagata Buddha.

Because this is an essential class conflict!

To elevate the level of civilization in the Human Realm, reform is imperative. Reform will naturally affect the vested interests of these beneficiaries, and to protect their interests, they certainly will not stand by. They might suppress or compromise, but they will never submit.

However, for Fang Zheng to achieve this, he must have a basic foundation and align with it.

So he turned to the Witch Queen and Zhao Ling’er – after all, both are descendants of Nuwa.

It’s just like how Liu Bei, upon meeting others, likes to declare, ”I am a descendant of Prince Yasu of Nakayama, Liu Sheng,” even though it’s unclear whether Liu Sheng fathered a child with some mistress while drunk or if they are merely distant relatives from 2,500 years ago. Still, it is a name to bear, right?

Unlike Liu Bei’s unverified claim, ours is verifiable! The lineage can be traced back to the dawn of time with records!

How could we not utilize it?

”Does Benefactor mean... you want to help us restore Nuwa’s faith?”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s intentions, the Witch Queen was obviously a bit surprised, to which Fang Zheng nodded.

”That’s right. As they say, Heaven, Earth, and Monarch and teachers, Nuwa is the ancestor of all living things in Divine Land. Yet now, she is slandered as a yokai by those foreign invaders. Have you accepted this? Have you ever thought of vindicating your ancestor’s name? Now the Nuwa lineage is forced to the edge of the Miao Territory. Who knows what will become of it in a hundred years? And you also know very well, the Nuwa lineage only bears one child per generation, always a girl. If something unforeseen happens, wouldn’t the Nuwa lineage be completely ended?”

Upon saying this, Fang Zheng spread his hands.

”Take the recent Water Monster incident as an example. If I weren’t here, the Witch Queen, you would have been executed as a yokai ten years ago. What then, ten years later? Even if Ling’er is still alive, would she stand by against the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader and the Water Monster? If Ling’er hasn’t had a child by then, she perishes with the Water Monster, what would happen to the Nuwa lineage? Once it reaches that point, how many from the White Miao Tribe will remember Nuwa, having lost their spiritual backbone?”

”This...”

Hearing this, both the Witch Queen and Zhao Ling’er showed signs of seriousness, understanding well the importance placed on succession in ancient times, especially for the unique Nuwa lineage. If an accident truly occurs, even a distant relative like Liu Bei wouldn’t be found.

If they are left without descendants...

”But Master, the Miao Territory can no longer withstand any turmoil...”

This time, Zhao Ling’er timidly spoke up next to the Witch Queen, to which Fang Zheng also shook his head.

”Don’t worry. Although a religious war is still a war, I don’t intend to involve ordinary people from the start. On the contrary... for me, the Miao Territory, currently in need of development, is a very promising place. Hmm... Ling’er, let me ask you something.”

”Master, please go ahead.”

”How do you feel about living on the airship?”

”This...”

Although puzzled by Fang Zheng’s sudden change of topic, Zhao Ling’er nodded obediently.

”Very comfortable.”

”If we could enable everyone in the Miao Territory, even in the entire Divine Land, to live like this?”

”What?!”

Upon hearing this, both the Witch Queen and Zhao Ling’er were stunned.

”Is this... is this really possible?”

”Of course. This is the plan I’ve devised.”

Fang Zheng naturally understood why the Witch Queen and Zhao Ling’er were so surprised. Though they were kind-hearted, their knowledge and vision were limited to this world. To them, it’s natural for those in power to have comfortable lives. Fang Zheng having such comforts posed no issue because he, being powerful, was expected to live better than ordinary people.

However, few would think, ”Can I also live like this?” because they knew they wouldn’t become ”Immortals,” so they remained content with their circumstances.

What Fang Zheng aimed to do was change this status quo.

Fang Zheng understood clearly that once productivity improved and the people’s living standards rose, both material and spiritual cultures would undergo changes. The outdated religious thoughts of Buddhism would then be ruthlessly abandoned if they couldn’t keep up with the people’s mental cultural needs. Therefore, Fang Zheng’s aim wasn’t to act like those Crusader idiots, wielding a cross and charging into Jerusalem. Instead, he planned to prepare for elevating civilization’s level and then use his side’s advanced productivity to exhibit cultural identity, thereby demolishing Buddhism’s presence in Divine Land.

As for Fang Zheng himself, he just needed to be the insurance in case those shameless Western deities decided to descend and brainwash mortals.

But for now...

”I’ll formulate a detailed plan.”

Fang Zheng stood up.

”But for now, I have some matters to attend to.”

Just now, Fang Zheng felt it - the gemstone he gave to Little Qing had already been crushed.

Which means... the first shot against Buddhism is about to begin.
