Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1338: Chapter 1337: The Most Miserable Death of a Boss Ever!

”—————!!!”

Following the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader’s command, the Water Monster immediately opened its mouth and roared furiously at Fang Zheng. Seeing this, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader was also stirred with emotion, knowing that the Water Monster was an Ancient Fierce Beast, which even Lady Nuwa could only subdue and seal.

This was the reason why the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader had tried everything to eliminate the Witch Queen’s tribe, because only Nuwa’s descendants could counter and seal the Water Monster. As long as Nuwa’s descendants were annihilated, the Water Monster would be invincible!

As for those Immortal Taoists of the Central Plains, he paid them no mind. After all, even in that era of Divine Demons and chaos, only Nuwa could subdue the Water Monster, and the Water Monster, being born from the essence of water spirits, couldn’t be destroyed, not even by Nuwa; only sealed.

And now, so many years have passed, how could those Taoists and monks from the Han People alone possibly control the Water Monster?!

Not to mention, ten years ago, the Water Monster hadn’t fully grown, but after these ten years, not only has it regained vitality but also absorbed the water source of the entire Miao Territory, making it even stronger. No matter how formidable this young man is, he is certainly no match for a Water Monster!

However, at this moment, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader saw Fang Zheng flip his right hand, grabbing a pitch-black greatsword, followed by a ”boom” as blazing flames instantly erupted from the sword.

These flames meant nothing to the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader, but upon seeing this brilliant red flare, the Water Monster’s previous ferocious and wild roar suddenly reduced!

”Ying ying ying......”

”This......”

Witnessing this scene, both the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader and the Witch Queen were stunned. They weren’t fools, but even a fool could see the current Water Monster shrinking into a ball, acting pitifully—as if it were cowering in the face of a creature even more powerful and terrifying than itself!

Was this young man really that frightening?

Of course, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader couldn’t understand. In fact, it wasn’t Fang Zheng that the Water Monster feared, but the Primordial Fire!

Indeed, in legend, the Water Monster fears nothing; it was born from the water spirit and is considered the highest level elemental Monster.

But what is the Primordial Fire? It is the first flame that marked the dawn of time, dividing chaos from order!

All things arise from it, and all things shall return to it!

The Water Monster is no exception!

Ten years ago, Fang Zheng refrained from burning the Water Monster entirely due to concerns about forcibly damaging the world’s planar core, but he left a deep psychological shadow on it. It was the Water Monster’s first real encounter with the threat of ”death” since its birth.

Not even when facing Nuwa did it feel like this!

If the line of Nuwa is the Water Monster’s ”bane”, then this man before it is its ”nemesis”!

”Ying ying ying......ying ying ying......”

The Water Monster’s voice became softer, and its whole body was retreating. If it could speak human language, it would likely express something like, ”Big brother, have mercy! I didn’t recognize you and stormed the Dragon King Temple; if you spare my life, I’ll change for the better, and live righteously as a... orc instead of a human...”

Yet, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader was dumbfounded by now.

”What are you doing?! Get moving!!”

Though he raised the Water Monster, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader couldn’t understand its bellowing, and seeing it cower, he was furious. As one of the five Ancient Fierce Beasts, how could it humble itself? He intended to unify the Miao Territory and conquer the Central Plains. How could it hold him back now?!

It’s no wonder the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader thought this way. From the outside, Fang Zheng’s Primordial Fire looked no different from ordinary flames, but only upon closer contact would one realize the difference. Few had escaped Fang Zheng’s Primordial Fire in this world; only the Water Monster and the Wine Sword Immortal had survived its blaze. Being an Ancient Fierce Beast, the Water Monster could naturally sense the primordial power within.

Although the Wine Sword Immortal didn’t fully understand, he also knew these flames were difficult to deal with, so both parties opted for retreat as the best strategy.

Unfortunately, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader lacked this foresight.

Or rather, he was already out of options.

The drought in the Miao Territory had been relieved, and news of the Witch King’s death had spread among the Black Miao Tribe. The elders would surely verify the Witch King’s authenticity, but that Witch King was an illusionary fairy and wouldn’t withstand scrutiny. At that moment, he would be finished!

Originally, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader didn’t care about these things. As long as he could control the Water Monster, no one in the Miao Territory could oppose him.

But he never imagined this Water Monster would become so timid?!

Are you kidding me? Over these ten years I’ve fed and dressed you well, given you the water source of the entire Miao Territory, and now when it’s time to be loyal, you want to desert?!

”......!!”

However, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader wasn’t without options. He quickly clasped his hands and began chanting a bizarre spell. The Water Monster sensed something too and began to struggle madly, attempting to break free of the chant.

”Roar———! Roar———!!”

In facing the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader’s constraints, the Water Monster roared and thrashed its head, clearly driven by its survival instincts to resist the control. Fang Zheng merely stood by, holding his greatsword leisurely, with no intention to intervene.

Whether ten years ago or now, the Water Monster posed no threat to Fang Zheng; if not for needing to weaken it according to this world’s methods to avoid incinerating the planar core, he would’ve vanquished it ten years earlier.

The Water Monster certainly is an Ancient Fierce Beast, but do you think the Time Dragon and Swarm Overlord are idle?!

”Roar......”

The Water Monster’s eyes gradually turned bright red, its roar lowered but filled with ominousness. Clearly, it was close to being fully controlled by the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader!

At this sight, Fang Zheng raised his weapon, and flames burst forth, forming a forty-meter-long great blade. While he initially intended to watch the spectacle, allowing the BOSS to power up wasn’t his actual aim; thus, Fang Zheng decided to eliminate the Water Monster swiftly!

Yet, an unexpected turn occurred.

”Roar—————!!”

Seeing Fang Zheng raise the forty-meter-long great blade seemed to provoke the Water Monster. It suddenly roared, its eight heads rising and retracting swiftly. The Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader, perched atop, was caught off guard and fell.

In midair, naturally, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader couldn’t continue his chanting. Before he could react, he saw the Water Monster’s heads lunging, biting onto his head and limbs, yanking, and tearing him into pieces, swallowing him whole!!

Overwhelmed by the terror of the Primordial Fire, the Water Monster actually devoured the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader who attempted to manipulate it for death!

This twist left the Witch Queen and Zhao Ling’er dumbfounded, and even Fang Zheng was taken aback.

Wow, surely this was the most brutal death for the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader!

”Ying ying———!!”

After swallowing the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader, the Water Monster still sought mercy from Fang Zheng; yet, just as it lifted its head, the forty-meter-long blade in Fang Zheng’s hand had already swung down with a boom!

What does your killing of the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader have to do with me, Fang Zheng?
