Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1332: Chapter 1331: Fang Zheng’s Formal Cultivation Method

Although Fang Zheng always thought the things in his home were good, not everything was the best.

For example, his view of cultivation in the Immortal Hero world is quite ordinary.

In fact, from Fang Zheng’s modern perspective, the requirements for cultivation can be considered quite inhumane. It can even be said that this is a backward ideology born from a backward worldview.

In this world, every fairy wants to achieve immortal ascension, Bai Suzhen is no different. After transforming, she immediately went to Mount Emei to seek Guanyin’s guidance, saying she wanted to achieve immortal ascension and didn’t know what to do.

And then?

What happens after you achieve immortal ascension?

What are your goals? What are your purposes?

Mortals want to be listed on the golden roll, have beautiful wives and children, and large families; these are their realistic needs. It’s the same in the modern world, people earn money to buy houses not just for owning a house, but for the freedom to allocate space and choose relationships after they do so. Scientists research quantum physics also to find the truth of the world.

In essence, every need is a reflection of its ultimate goal.

So what is the ultimate goal of cultivation?

Immortal ascension, achieving the Dao, becoming a Saint?

And then?

It’s like you enter a company and swear to become the CEO. Once you really become the CEO, then what? What else do you want to do?

Will you just do nothing all day like a salted fish?

In Fang Zheng’s view, cultivation is essentially the people of the Immortal Hero world’s helpless choice under the backward productivity and production relationships of this world. Because the political system is relatively backward, productivity is relatively low, and people’s spiritual and material lives are relatively impoverished, that’s why they depend on cultivation.

In simple terms, ”There’s nothing really fun in this world, maybe it won’t be so boring once you become a celestial being?”

Fang Zheng can understand this somewhat. Imagine him, a modern person, returning to this era, and indeed there isn’t much to do. After all, this era is still ancient, everyone pursues stable material life, there are no phones, no internet, no video games, no top-up, nor various entertainment projects. Being able to eat three meals a day, marry a wife, raise children, and living to a ripe old age is the biggest pursuit.

Even if you are rich, what can you enjoy in this world?

At best, visit Yihong Courtyard every day and choose all the top picks there or go out to the street to forcefully abduct young women...... other than eating, drinking, and having fun, what do you have to fulfill your spiritual needs?

Probably nothing.

And to those who pursue cultivation, they see themselves as different from mortals just like a college graduate versus a farmer, the former has higher aspirations while the latter only cares about his few fields. The so-called divergence in path leads to different pursuits, hence they transcend the mundane, distant from worldly affairs, to cultivate their own immortality.

These people never thought of using their powers to improve people’s lives, enhance productivity, elevate the level of overall civilization.

Mencius once said: ”In difficulty, maintain personal integrity; upon success, benefit the world.”

However, these cultivators are ”both in difficulty and success, maintain personal integrity.”

They even glorify it as cutting off causes and effects, transcending the mundane.

While the people in the mortal realm are still eating grass, you go on to transcend causes and effects, seek Dao and long life?

Have you thought about establishing a socialist system with Immortal Hero characteristics?

However, if you want to do it yourself......forget it, let’s solve the drought issue in Miao Territory first.

Now Fang Zheng already possesses the Water Spirit Pearl, Earth Spirit Pearl, and Thunder Orb, the other two Spiritual Pearls are in Miao Territory, therefore he no longer continues to wander aimlessly but directly turns the ship’s direction toward Miao Territory.

After a night of sailing, around noon the next day, everyone finally arrived at Miao Territory.

However, the situation before them doesn’t seem very favorable.

No, it should be said......

”Very serious......”

Standing at the bow, looking at the scene outside, Zhao Ling’er and Lin Yue revealed uneasy expressions. As far as the eye could see, the entire Miao Territory land was parched, everywhere was cracked earth, the originally lush trees had all withered, it practically looked like a dead land, even on the riverbed one could see many animal carcasses that had died because of the drought.

”Tsk tsk tsk, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader plays it big, such scheming is rare to see, he really isn’t afraid......hmm?”

Saying this, Fang Zheng suddenly paused, and noticing Fang Zheng’s expression, Ling’er couldn’t help but curiously ask.

”Master, what are you thinking?”

”Hmm......I’m thinking......why isn’t the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader afraid of being sought out......”

Saying this, Fang Zheng furrowed his brows and pointed at the scene in front of them.

”Look, saying this leaves creatures in devastation isn’t an exaggeration, wouldn’t the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader be afraid of someone bringing trouble to him under the banner of demon elimination and Dao protection? Indeed, the Water Monster is formidable, but right now this Water Monster hasn’t been resurrected yet, isn’t he afraid someone will come to deal with him first?”

”This...”

Hearing this, the women paused, they evidently also noticed this issue.

”But, the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader is at the Royal Palace, generally people can’t enter, right.”

”Ordinary people can’t enter, but the old man who fought me earlier can’t enter? The Sect of the Immortal Sword doesn’t walk among the mundane society, if they entered and cut down the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader with a sword, wouldn’t all troubles be gone?”

When playing games, Fang Zheng didn’t have any feelings, after all, the game didn’t depict Miao Territory’s plight so severely, so he only assumed it was the Moon-Worshiping Cult Leader acting secretly, unnoticed by outsiders. But now the desertification of Miao Territory’s land is simply shocking, isn’t anyone managing it?

”Celestial Immortal, there seems to be a battle ahead?”

At this moment, Aya curiously looked at the distant place then spoke.

”Oh?”

Upon hearing Aya’s observation, Fang Zheng also furrowed his eyebrows, looking into the distance, sure enough, he saw around the city’s direction before the airship, everywhere was smoke and warfare, upon closer inspection one could even see white-clothed Miao people and black-clothed Miao people fighting brutally.

”Looks like the White Miao Tribe and Black Miao Tribe have started fighting.”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Ling’er was shocked, then she quickly grabbed Fang Zheng’s hand.

”Master, please, help me stop them, stop this war.”

”No problem......leave it to me.”

What Zhao Ling’er said was also what Fang Zheng was thinking. In the game, he was just Li Xiaoyao, but now he’s the Master of Heavenly Dao, Time Dragon, Paladin, Swarm Overlord, God of Magical Girls......let’s leave out the last one.

Stopping the mere war between the White Miao Tribe and Black Miao Tribe is simply a piece of cake for him!

”Let’s go!!”

With this thought in mind, Fang Zheng suddenly waved his hand, and at the next moment, the airship immediately accelerated towards the city’s direction.

At this time, below, the battle between the White Miao Tribe and the Black Miao Tribe also reached a fever pitch, and upon seeing this scene, Fang Zheng squinted his eyes.

”Prepare the artillery, intimidation attack!”

Following Fang Zheng’s words, the airship’s sides opened sequentially, followed by magitech cannons sliding out, aimed at the battlefield. In the next moment, whistling beams shot out, bombarding the battlefield.

”Boom—————!!”

Although Fang Zheng aimed at the empty spaces on both sides of the battlefield, the descending huge beam still startled both sides engaged in battle, they jointly paused, instinctively looked up at the sky. Upon seeing the white airship hovering in the air, everyone was dumbfounded.

”What’s going on here?”

At this moment, standing on the city wall, the elder of the White Miao Tribe, Gaerjia, was shocked watching the slowly descending airship, she had never seen something like this before.

”Is this the Witch King’s trick?”

”Elder, what should we do now?”

”First, let’s observe the situation and then decide......”

At the same time, the Black Miao Tribe also watched the slowly descending airship, retreating suspiciously and uncertainly. Since the attackers retreated, the defenders of the White Miao Tribe also naturally returned to the city walls, tensely watching the scene unfold.

”Everyone, stop immediately!!”

Soon, accompanying this voice, a beam descended, next they saw Zhao Ling’er slowly emerge from it, landing on the ground. Upon seeing Zhao Ling’er, standing on the city wall, Gaerjia’s eyes widened.

”This appearance......this voice, this is......”

Saying this, Gaerjia excitedly raised her hands.

”Her Royal Highness! Her Royal Highness has returned!!!”
