Chapter 1303: Chapter 1302: Judgment in the Name of Freedom and Masayuki

Two days later, Washington.

Early this morning, nearly every household’s TV program was dominated by one piece of news—that the bodies of superheroes, including Captain America and Tony Stark, were found on the Washington Monument. The reporters at the scene had various expressions.

”Currently, we are not sure who is responsible for this, but it’s clear that this is a provocation against the United States of America...”

”What consequences will the deaths of these superheroes bring, and who caused all of this? We don’t know yet, but the government has responded, stating they will do their utmost to catch the perpetrator...”

”Due to Tony Stark’s sudden death, Stark Group’s stock prices have plummeted by seventy-eight percent, and turmoil in the financial market is inevitable...”

”The President will personally attend the funeral today to offer his condolences and deliver a eulogy. Please stay tuned for the live broadcast...”

Soon, the screen switched to the funeral ceremony scene. There, the President, dressed in a suit, stood on the podium, delivering the eulogy formally and precisely.

”...These heroes are the guardians of justice. They sacrificed everything for humanity, for the world’s justice and freedom. But now, they have been brutally murdered and insulted in this way, which is intolerable. Here, I pledge on behalf of the United States of America, we will find the culprit and bring them to justice to comfort the souls of these heroes!”

However, before the President could finish his passionate speech, a voice suddenly interrupted him.

”No need to look, I’m here.”

As soon as the words fell, everyone saw a young man swagger in through the main entrance as if the place was unguarded, then walked towards the President’s podium. Seeing this, the surrounding bodyguards and police hurriedly stepped up to try to block his path, but facing them, Fang Zheng merely smiled and snapped his fingers.

”Bang!!”

The next moment, all the guards and bodyguards in the hall had their heads explode like watermelons. Witnessing this, everyone was stunned for a moment, then screams instantly filled the entire hall. Funeral attendees frantically attempted to escape. However, Fang Zheng waved his hand, and the next moment, all the doors and windows were tightly sealed, a series of sealing arrays appearing on them, completely isolating the interior from the exterior.

Fang Zheng then stepped onto the podium, smiling at the people before him.

”Alright, next, it’s time for the press conference. Does anyone have questions?”

American journalists truly risk their lives for news. Although there were already corpses of guards and bodyguards with exploded heads underfoot, the thought of a global broadcast...

If this goes well, there’s a chance to become famous and wealthy for the rest of their lives!

”I would like to ask... sir...”

Soon, encouraged by fame, a journalist boldly spoke up.

”May I ask who you are? Why did you kill Captain America and these superheroes? Do you have a grudge against them?”

The Americans of this world are indeed bold, but after all, various crime organizations emerge endlessly in this world. In fact, they had seen many bosses who, after making big news, came out to give themselves a nickname. Perhaps he was just one of them.

”Who I am is not important.”

However, Fang Zheng did not answer their question.

”I have no grudge against these superheroes. I killed them for the freedom, justice, and peace of this world.”

”Uh...”

Hearing this, the reporters looked at each other, not knowing how to respond for a moment. At this moment, the President, however, glared at Fang Zheng angrily and spoke.

”Nonsense! Captain America and the Avengers fought to protect America, to protect the American people. They are the guardians of freedom, peace, and justice!”

”American freedom, peace, and justice, right.”

Yet, Fang Zheng was unmoved. He simply glanced at the President, then extended his hand to draw a circle. Following this, a teleportation gate opened, and reporters saw a group of young people emerge from it. Among them, the oldest was just over twenty, and the youngest was in their teens. There were both boys and girls, and most seemed to come from modest circumstances.

”Come on, kids, introduce yourselves.”

”My name is Ummanov, from Ukraine. My father died in one of Iron Man’s battles... He was a civilian, blown up by Iron Man’s bombs...”

”My name is Li Zongyan, from South Korea. While Captain America was battling villains in Korea, my mom was driving through there. She didn’t know what was happening there... and then she got caught up in the battle...”

”My name is...”

These people introduced themselves to the reporters, one by one. They came from all over the world, Asia, Europe, Africa, but they all shared a common identity—they were victims of the battles of these superheroes. They either lost family members or limbs in these superpowered confrontations.

”I’m very sorry for all this, kids.”

Hearing the accusations from these kids, the President had to express his stance. Then he looked at the media cameras.

”I assure you, the U.S. Government has compensated these victims with enough money...”

”Money... ah, money.”

However, once again, Fang Zheng interrupted him.

”So, in your view, is human life something that can be measured by money? Then, Mr. President...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng pulled out a checkbook from his pocket.

”How much is your life worth? How about I offer a price right now?”

”Enough!”

At this moment, the Minister of Defense couldn’t hold back any longer and stepped forward.

”The actions of those superheroes were not wrong. These are just tragic accidents, but their intentions were not wrong. Those enemies, those enemies were enemies of our United States of America. They wanted to harm us, harm our people, so we must defeat them!”

”Oh, I see.”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng nodded.

”So, what you mean is, to protect the citizens of the United States of America, you are willing to fight ’America’s enemies’ on the soil of other countries, regardless of sacrificing the lives of local civilians?”

”...”

”That’s indeed a very American way of thinking. Alright, kids, go back.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng opened the teleportation gate again, sending the kids back to their respective countries. Then, he once more turned to the camera.

”So, the freedom, peace, and safety of the citizens of the United States of America are built on the sacrifice of the freedom, peace, and safety of people in other countries. To protect your own country, you wantonly instigate wars, incite conflicts, and use your superheroes to defeat any enemies threatening you. From the perspective of the U.S. citizens, your actions aren’t wrong, but unfortunately, I’m not a citizen of the United States of America, and I don’t need to care about your freedom, safety, and peace.”

With that, Fang Zheng raised his hand, and as he moved, a flaming pitch-black greatsword appeared in his hand.

”I, the ally of justice, now stand here, carrying all the world’s justice, peace, and freedom to judge the evil United States of America. The superheroes of the United States, the government of the United States, and the citizens of the United States who voted for these governments, you all must be held accountable for the crimes committed against people in other world countries and regions who lost their lives because of your selfishness, arrogance, and complacency. Therefore, I hereby declare...”

Speaking this far, Fang Zheng’s lips curled up slightly.

”Death penalty, to be executed immediately.”

As his words dropped, the pitch-black greatsword in Fang Zheng’s hand plunged heavily into the ground of the podium before him.

The next moment, scorching flames rose into the sky, consuming everything.
