Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1246: Chapter 1246: Are There Really Such Coincidences in the World?

”Okay, sir.”

Trevor spoke eight languages, his English exceptionally fluent, and his deep, rich voice was pleasant to hear.

During the three-hour car ride.

Trevor remained leaning against the seat back, while Janelle continued to rest her head on his shoulder until it started to ache a bit under the weight, yet Trevor stayed motionless.

He glanced out the window, recalling the happy image of Jocelyn and Dr. Shelby together, feeling a bit gloomy inside.

Actually, Jocelyn and Janelle had similarities in character, but Trevor hadn’t realized it yet.

Jocelyn didn’t have parents; she had always relied on others, yet remained resilient and optimistic.

Janelle’s parents divorced when she was young, but her character was very good, unlike children who grew up in single-parent families. She was particularly understanding of adult choices and had a very kind heart.

She even strongly supported her father’s remarriage.

In short, both were kind-hearted good girls.

The taxi moved forward steadily, eventually, the rain stopped, and they could see the golden sunset on the horizon, a breathtaking view.

Getting closer and closer to Darcy Manor...

Until Trevor’s phone rang, he gently took it out of his pocket, trying not to disturb Janelle, but the ringtone woke her. She opened her eyes groggily and heard the man’s deep, gentle voice in her ear—

”Mr. William, yes, I’m almost there,” Trevor’s voice was gentle.

Janelle’s eyes widened, and her mind instantly cleared! She quickly sat upright!

Slowly she glanced over, seeing him just finishing the call.

When he looked at her, he appeared calm and poised, as if nothing had happened.

Mr. William??

He knows Demi’s father??

So he wasn’t just following her here; he was coming to Darcy Manor anyway??

”You’re the one taking advantage, Miss Mills.” Trevor reminded her in Chinese, ”My shoulder was aching from you leaning on it.”

Embarrassed!

The girl blinked, calmed her nerves, ”I’m so sorry!” For a moment, she didn’t know what to say, was this too much of a coincidence?

”It’s okay.” Trevor replied calmly, his gaze shifting, turning to the intoxicating scenery outside the window.

Really!

How could she lean on him??

She clearly meant to lean back!

Janelle was quite annoyed!

Luckily, Trevor didn’t hold it against her, easing the awkwardness somewhat.

The car continued moving forward.

Janelle also turned to look out the other side of the car window.

She opened the window, letting the fresh, cool breeze blow in, refreshing her spirit!

The setting sun pierced through layered clouds, dyeing the whole sky red, a paradise-like scene with particularly good visibility here.

Every time she saw the sunset, her heart couldn’t help but be filled with emotion.

In this vast world, how many sunsets and moonrises are there, and how many joys and sorrows?

As the dusk quietly faded away, she inevitably felt somewhat melancholic.

Darcy Manor is located on the east bank of a certain river, built in vast green land in the last century, the house’s exterior resembles a castle, extremely beautiful, with a strong sense of age.

The surrounding yard is large, with over one hundred thousand precious plants planted, three artificial lakes dug inside, adorned with stone bridges and corridors.

The manor houses numerous precious paintings, and some classical sculptures, as well as a set of limited edition books, some highly valuable artifacts are also displayed here.

Darcy Manor is Mr. William’s private property, where he enjoys his later years with his family.

Tomorrow is his daughter Demi’s 18th birthday celebration.

The manor’s banquet hall had started decorating three days ago, dazzlingly magnificent.

Demi is a Chinese-British mix, embodying all her parents’ genetic advantages, famously known as a beauty prototype.

Moreover, she has a straightforward personality and met Janelle by chance while traveling abroad, becoming close friends who share everything.

Trevor came today to discuss a project cooperation with Mr. William, his father said his leg was injured, and the trip to Riventhal had to be canceled.

Soon, the taxi stopped outside the manor, the car door opened, and Trevor paid the fare.

”Let’s split the bill, I’ll transfer the money to you later!” Janelle said as she got off, busy retrieving her suitcase from the trunk, not even looking up, truly not expecting he was Mr. William’s guest.
