Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1220: Chapter 1220: But She Just Isn’t Good Enough for You!

”Are you serious?” She frowned, ”Six twenty?” My God! That’s too early! She usually slept in until noon!

”Yes, it’s settled then,” Ian Shelby told her, ”Young people must have a healthy body.”

”Alright then, at least someone will accompany me.” A girl in love is always so happy.

”Then you should sleep early tonight,” Ian Shelby told her, ”Good night.”

”Good night.”

After saying goodnight to each other, they almost simultaneously hung up the phone, both feeling a little longing for each other.

They both looked through their WeChat conversation history on their phones.

At the beginning of a relationship, it’s always like this; just the thought of you fills my heart with joy.

That night, Trevor couldn’t sleep.

He sat alone on the sofa, the night breeze blowing in with a hint of chill.

He couldn’t understand why the girl he liked didn’t like him back.

Thinking about their first and second encounters, his throat felt a lump, his nasal tip a bit sour, tears unknowingly misting his eyes...

The night deepened.

In his own home, he had no one to talk to.

He had to process all his emotions on his own.

Early the next morning.

After a sleepless night, Vera Ford arrived at the hospital early, with countless thoughts and ideas buzzing in her mind.

She also felt a lot of unwillingness.

Ian Shelby stepped out of the elevator, dressed in a black suit, wearing a white shirt underneath, with a delicate tie, looking full of energy.

The graceful line of his lips held a faint smile, showing he was in a good mood today.

It wasn’t until he got closer that Ian Shelby noticed Vera Ford standing at the door.

Vera Ford stared at him intently, with no emotion on her face.

Ian Shelby slowed his pace with a puzzled look, ”What do you want with me?”

”Are you two dating?” Vera Ford’s voice was very light, but her tone carried a hint of displeasure.

Ian Shelby stopped in front of her, assessing her with a scrutinizing gaze, ”Do I need to report this to you?”

”How could you like someone like Jocelyn Morgan?!” Vera Ford was anxious, suppressing her inner emotions, ”She doesn’t even have a proper job! She’s not good enough for you!”

This displeased Ian Shelby.

The originally gentle look on the man’s face suddenly turned sharp, ”Vera Ford, everyone is equal, regardless of their profession. There is no high or low.”

”But she’s not good enough for you!”

”I think writing books is quite good, full of genuine emotions and a rich inner world. Is it so hard to appreciate someone’s excellence?”

”...” Vera Ford was speechless, realizing she seemed petty.

Just as Ian Shelby was about to ignore her and step into the office.

Vera Ford grabbed his arm in a hurry, changing her tone and asking, ”Ian, isn’t it that no matter how hard I try, you won’t notice?”

Ian Shelby paused and turned his gaze, ”Your efforts shouldn’t just be for the sake of me noticing.”

”But I like you! Can’t you feel it?!” Vera Ford boldly confessed, ”Ian, I’ve liked you for a long time! I think I would be a great partner! Both in work and in marriage!”

”...” Ian Shelby assessed her once again.

She urged, ”Jocelyn Morgan isn’t right for you, she just writes a few words a day, with nothing to do, while you’re busy! You two are not on the same path at all! This is just new and exciting, you’ll have your fights later!”

”Vera Ford.”

Ian Shelby gently removed her hand from his arm, speaking softly, ”All feelings require effort to adjust, but that first feeling is too important. I don’t have feelings for you, and I won’t in the future.”

Vera Ford’s heart sank heavily, feeling extremely sad. Is there no hope for the rest of her life?
