Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 998: Chapter 614: The Protagonist Takes the Stage (Part 2)

When the smoke cleared.

Aggron’s stoic silhouette was exposed to everyone; it did not launch any counterattack, merely displaying a playful expression and beckoning to Mightyena with its claw.

”Grr~”

Clearly, it was taunting.

The spot on its front where Evil Fluctuation landed only had a small mark similar to the traces left on metal after being scorched by a lighter, which seemed like it could be wiped away by hand.

What an arrogant posture!

The commentator shouted, ”No effect! Evil Fluctuation had no effect whatsoever! Aggron hasn’t left its place the entire time! Such terrifying special defense!”

Just as he said.

As the large screen showed a top-down view of Aggron, all spectators noticed that the surrounding grass remained undamaged, without even any signs of stamping.

This meant that from the beginning, it had stayed in the same spot without moving!

Even as Mightyena’s Evil Fluctuation hit it!

What does it mean to be immovable like a mountain?

This is immovable like a mountain!

The audience seats erupted into a commotion.

Some were astonished, some wondered why Aggron didn’t counterattack, and others anticipated how Baimu would continue the battle.

”Oooh...”

Mightyena, despite being taunted, did not lose its pace and cautiously stopped, maintaining an unexpectedly calm demeanor as it hesitantly observed its unharmed opponent from a distance.

Strangely enough, it sensed an unknown danger.

Compared to that.

Its Trainer, Yamei, lost her composure.

”Impossible that there’s no effect!”

She shouted angrily, unable to accept it, ”Mightyena, don’t be scared by this guy’s facade! Evil Fluctuation definitely worked! Use Malicious Pursuit again!”

”Howl!”

Mightyena dashed forward again, blood red aura clinging to its front claws.

Although it felt something unusual about its opponent, the Trainer’s commands and judgments came first; it trusted its Trainer!

Soon enough.

It ran to Aggron’s front, and instead of directly striking with its claws, it ducked low, driving its hind legs forcefully in front of Aggron’s sapphire eyes.

Swish!

In an instant, Mightyena veered to Aggron’s side, attempting to avoid a frontal assault and go for a flank.

However, shifting its gaze back and forth, it couldn’t find a suitable spot to attack; every part looked obstinately hard...

Time waits for no one.

Malicious Pursuit must be executed while the opponent can still feel the invasive energy of Evil Fluctuation to trigger its enhanced effect.

Judging Aggron’s condition, whether it’s feigning or truly unaffected, was difficult, leaving Mightyena no room for hesitation as it pounced toward the latter’s shoulder blade!

Claws swung!

Bang!

The blood-red aura twisted, energy boiling and then erupted violently!

Mightyena struck and immediately retreated, pulling back at least four to five meters before cautiously watching the Aggron covered in smoke.

The spectators also focused intently on the arena and screen.

Moments later.

The smoke dispersed.

”Grr...”

Aggron turned its head, calmly gazing at the increasingly frightened Mightyena, with a lofty smirk in its eyes as if watching a playful puppy.

And this time, the impact point—the shoulder blade area—didn’t even leave traces after the energy blast.

The commentator’s voice was thrilling: ”Once again, no effect! Aggron demonstrates a dread-inducing defense! Mightyena’s assault is completely ineffective!”

Woah!

Cheering erupted among the audience.

Powerful!

Undeniably powerful!

The opponent’s defense is impossibly strong!

”Hiss—”

Yamei widened her eyes, inhaling sharply, unwilling to believe Aggron could utterly ignore Mightyena’s attacks, yet the facts spoke for themselves.

Two proactive strikes yielded no effect; if this doesn’t show something, she’d truly be foolish.

A more potent Pokémon must take the stage!

She immediately shouted, ”Mightyena, come back!”

The vast arena poses a drawback where Pokeball’s retrieval beam sometimes can’t reach so far, necessitating the Pokémon to return to their half of the field.

”Owww~”

Mightyena turned its head and ran without hesitation. Unlike Trainers who exchanged only when forced to, it was truly terrified by the momentum Aggron was brewing.

From the end of the first Evil Fluctuation, the opponent’s aura grew heavier.

It was suffocating!

However.

Mightyena didn’t notice that just as it turned to flee, Aggron’s body surface flashed with a silver glow, akin to liquid metal slowly flowing over it.

Yamei saw it but assumed Baimu wanted to strengthen the gap during the exchange.

Next moment.

”Pounce.”

Bang!

A deafening roar sounded, grass and soil flying.

In front of the crowd’s eyes, the massive Aggron seemingly defied gravity and leaped forward!

A deep red energy flow transformed into a halo-like aura surrounding its body, making it seem like a meteor suddenly streaking across the field, crashing into the fleeing Mightyena!

Explosive Leap!

”Roar!”

Boom——!!

The earth shook and mountains quaked!

Countless dark soil, rubble, and gravel mixing with scarce grass flew skyward, while much of it was propelled in all directions by the explosion and terrifying shockwaves!

Exclamations arose from the audience, many tilting their heads or standing up to try to dodge the flying sand and dirt, not expecting a massive honeycomb-shaped light shield to appear in front, blocking all incoming debris outside.

The defense module of the arena!

The audience calmed down, relieved they wouldn’t be affected.

But when they looked at the situation inside the field, they were dumbfounded.

In the field filled with drifting smoke, Yamei’s half of the smooth grassy ground had vanished, replaced by an irregular deep pit.

Aggron stood within it, grabbing the fainted Mightyena with one claw, sharp steel teeth reflecting sunlight and spewing white air.

The commentator’s voice, filled with incredulousness, echoed: ”Pounce hit directly! The effect is astonishing! Mightyena has lost its ability to fight! The combination of Iron Wall and Pounce’s technique is destructively powerful!”

The referee followed suit, raising a flag to signal Mightyena’s withdrawal.

Silence enveloped the audience.

Soon after.

Rollicking cheers erupted, echoing throughout!

In Pokémon battles, what captivates the audience besides the deep bond between Trainers and Pokémon is the destructive power of techniques!

As long as their safety is assured, the more astonishing the technique’s destructive power, the more they love it!

Aggron’s Pounce certainly met their eye!

”Roar.”

It slowly walked out of the pit, eyes still calm, casually tossing Mightyena in front of Yamei.

As if saying—

”Next one.”

”Gruh...”

Yamei swallowed, heart racing, turning her head to avoid Aggron’s gaze.

Frightening!

It’s too frightening!

Whether the unexpected attack or the world-shattering technique’s power, they all made Yamei, who was calculating just a second ago, tremble.

Unable to catch the timing to retrieve Mightyena!

Baimu must have chosen the time deliberately, likely waiting until now to launch the attack!

She understood this was a silent show of force from the opponent, the meaning clear—no verbal argument, just using strength to make her shut up!

”...”

Yamei bit her tongue gently, forcing herself to escape from this fear.

No, you won’t get your way!

She retrieved Mightyena into its ball, then took out the next Pokeball, shouting and throwing it.

”It’s up to you! Crawdaunt!”

In Yamei’s mind echoed some famous quotes from Lord Huayue, urgently recalling her reasons for antagonizing Baimu to deepen memory.

To this point, she realized the opponent’s strength far surpassed hers. But if she didn’t act now, she’d truly lack the courage to continue battling...

Forfeit?

That would insult her and her idol, Lord Huayue.

She’d grit her teeth and hold out till the end!

”Craaa!”

The giant lobster with a star head landed, defiantly staring directly at Aggron’s gleaming blue eyes, like a fiery red-headed youth.
