Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 958: Chapter 595: Mage Captured (?)

Persistence seems to be a synonym for a magician.

[You head to the pier again to sell potions]

After two failures, the magician finally learned a lesson from her last attempt in Yuanzhu City and started to change her strategy.

[You take out three badge invitations to battle the sailors, if someone can defeat you, they get a free potion, if they lose, they have to buy a potion]

”Will this work?”

Baimu felt that the sailors at the pier probably wouldn’t be that bored, and the magician would be taken away by Miss Jun Sha.

But as it turns out.

In the magician’s era, Pokémon battles were already a beloved form of entertainment for the masses.

The prestige of three badges attracted a steady stream of sailors to challenge the magician.

And the Miss Jun Sha he was worried about never showed up.

The magician truly earned her reputation as a potion-using powerhouse, as none of the many sailors at Asakusa Pier could defeat her, and even Hoothoot evolved during the continuous battles.

[Your Hoothoot evolved into Noctowl, the timer gained a flashlight function]

What a bizarre feature for a timer to gain a flashlight function...

But having just been captured not long ago and already evolved, is it because Hoothoot naturally has this tendency, or is it that the magician’s well-trained talent isn’t potion-based?

Baimu didn’t know.

He only knew that in the speeding-up scene, the small expression in the bubble above the magician’s head changed from happy to ecstatic.

[When your Murkrow was defeated, you ended today’s battle bundle sales, selling more than thirty underwater potions, making you very happy]

However, the magician’s happiness didn’t last long.

[You noticed many sailors turned around and threw the potions on the ground, making you realize this sales strategy wouldn’t lead them to value the potions]

Clearly, the magician hoped to earn travel funds through the potions but didn’t want the potions to be despised because of her.

Most sailors didn’t care about this suspicious item; they only challenged her because of her strength, and after losing, they bought a potion as agreed.

[You decided to buy back the potions from those sailors]

Baimu watched in silence at the scene of the magician buying back potions from the sailors she had battled.

Ultimately.

The reason the magician couldn’t sell the potions was that Pokémon Monster Magic was too suspicious, and being a ”wandering trader,” she was almost indistinguishable from a con artist to the urbanites of that era.

Even traditional medicine was more credible than Pokémon Monster Magic, and in the Pokémon World, traditional medicine has a long history.

However.

Even con artists can always fool a couple of fools.

As a legitimate magic potion seller, the potion-buying magician got the attention of the Gym Leader.

[You were suddenly stopped by Hall Master Asakusa, who claimed to be the captain of a large ship and was very interested in your underwater breathing potions]

This era didn’t seem to have developed ”scuba” yet, so after verifying the potion’s practicality, Hall Master Asakusa promptly cleared out the magician’s stock.

He even bought many other potions with different effects.

For example, potions that can eliminate odor, potions for not snoring while sleeping, and potions that keep vegetables fresh.

[You made a fortune and decided to take the Pokémon out for a big meal right away]

Oh... how pure.

Making money just to go for a big meal.

Baimu grabbed the claw of the Altered-color Gengar, recalling the time he made money from the Ocean Team with a confused look on its face.

Seems there’s not much difference.

Also took Pokémon out to buy and eat at the time.

The scene shifts.

The magician stands on the deck of a large ship looking out at the sea.

[You continue towards the next city, the azure blue sea making you drool, but unfortunately, you can’t swim and the ship won’t stop]

Are you craving the sea, or the Water-type Pokémon?

Baimu already had some understanding of the magician’s temperament, who liked to harvest Wild Pokémon for magic potion making, with an emphasis on fresh and natural.

As expected.

As he thought, the magician was craving Pokémon.

[You borrowed a fishing rod from the crew, attempting to reel up the Pokémon in the sea]

The magician, with three Pokémon, stood on the side of the ship, casting the rod with a serious demeanor, with a small hopeful tag appearing overhead.

Fishing...

Net fishing is more reliable, isn’t it?

How do you fish with the ship moving? Catching a Sharpedo? That’s not impossible, these kinds of Pokémon love chasing ships to munch on.

But usually, ordinary ships wouldn’t sail on routes with Sharpedo.

[You waited for a long time, found no Wild Pokémon took the bait, then temporarily created a potion to attract Pokémon and poured it into the sea]

[You continued fishing]

”Hmm...”

Baimu tugged at the corners of his mouth, feeling the magician’s mind was somewhat out of touch.

What’s this supposed to be?

Like carving a notch on a boat to mark where the sword fell into the water to retrieve it from there?

He then focused his attention on that potion attracting Pokémon and recalled the potions that appeared in the simulation.

Feeling that aside from those that temporarily boost a Pokémon’s combat ability, most of the potions the magician made seemed rather impractical to him.

Whether invisible, underwater breathing, or other potions with various functions, in his era, there were more convenient substitutes.

Hoping she would come out with something more magical later.

Baimu was quite looking forward to the magic potion from the animation that could turn into a Pokémon.

[You arrived in Azure City]

The magician returned the fishing rod to the captain, and undoubtedly, this carving mark to fish method left her empty-handed, and feeling slightly indignant, she immediately chose to challenge the Gym for some release.
