Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 961: Chapter 596: Wandering Witch_2

Baimu couldn’t help but marvel at how mages were truly extraordinary, just using the potions in their hands to deal with a group of people.

Today’s another day of winning Pokémon battles without using Pokémon.jpg

[Your Pokémon Magic has gained the villagers’ approval, and they ask if you can cure some minor Pokémon ailments. You say you’ll have to see them first.]

Here comes the legendary traveling healer!

Baimu was curious about the medical conditions of this era’s mages, making the breeders resort to mages for Pokémon ailments.

Or is it that the Pokémon Centers are not yet fully established throughout the Johto region?

In any case, when the villagers discovered that the mage’s magic potions could actually cure ailments and were incredibly reliable, she received a completely different treatment in Johto North City.

[You genuinely think Johto South City is simply paradise and start considering whether to persuade the principal to move the Magic School here or open a branch.]

The mage left Route 34 with a smile.

[You’re no longer worried about travel expenses, which makes you extremely happy.]

Passing through Oak Forest.

Although Baimu was looking forward to the mage encountering Celebi, unfortunately, she wasn’t that lucky and arrived safely in Azalea Town.

[You’ve arrived at Azalea Town, where the calm and peaceful atmosphere makes you eager to start challenging the Gym.]

The mage, along with her Mismagius, headed straight for the Gym.

The Gym Leader at this time was a middle-aged man skilled in General Attribute Pokémon.

But perhaps the evolved and potion-fueled Mismagius was too strong, speeding up the Gym Battle without any suspense or twists.

[You defeated the Azalea Gym Leader and obtained the Azalea Badge.]

Baimu was momentarily silent.

Watching the mage’s battle inevitably gave a feeling that the past Gym Leaders were relatively weak.

While it’s true that the overall strength of trainers tends to rise with changing times, as well as more favorable environments making trainers stronger, it’s normal.

But to win the sixth badge so quickly, one can only assume the mage’s Mismagius has the demeanor of a ”Champion”!

Just like Ash Ketchum’s Greninja, while other Pokémon like Hawlucha have fairly average strength, and Pikachu performs moderately—excellent but not exaggerated—the bonded Greninja is an absolute anomaly.

And with this Gym Battle concluded.

The mage routinely found a spot to set up a stall, which had become a habit for her.

The neatly arranged six badges were quite eye-catching.

Unfortunately, as Baimu predicted, the residents of Azalea Town were wary of magic potions, so she only managed to sell one bottle.

[You’re very happy to have made a sale, pack up your things, and continue to the next city.]

Similarly, the mage didn’t slack off on her excellent habit of gathering raw materials, selling potions while also making them.

[You need to produce a large number of potions to enhance your magic proficiency, thereby passing the official mage’s assessment and increasing the success rate of making Nirvana Potions.]

The mage always kept her goals in mind, making her sweeps more resolute.

The strength of Honchkrow and other Pokémon gradually improved through repeated wild Pokémon encounters.

Logically speaking.

Baimu felt that the mage’s Pokémon had a lot more exercise than his own, even if much of it was unproductive, getting stronger was reasonable.

Is this a case of things turning out better than expected?

[You’ve arrived at Violet City, surrounded by a dense sea of trees, in the Johto region’s center.]

Violet City...

The games indicate that Violet Gym was passed down to Asoo from his father, though the anime never mentioned it.

Is there a chance to meet Asoo’s father?

Baimu recalled the Azure Gym, feeling it was unlikely.

Asi hasn’t become a Gym Leader yet, so Asoo’s father probably hasn’t either... Maybe they’ll battle the mage in the conference?

He stared at the screen.

The mage had already stepped into the elevated Violet Gym.

[You started challenging the Violet Gym]

A pixelated little boy, looking younger than the mage, appeared opposite her.

Huh?

No way?

Baimu blinked and immediately called Porygon II to check when Asoo’s father became the Gym Leader.

『Twelve years old.』

Porygon II’s answer made him blush a bit.

It really was Asoo’s father serving as the Gym Leader!

Twelve years old, feels like Jiro, Xiaogang’s brother, is about that age too?

A twelve-year-old Gym Leader in this era, their achievements in the game must not be low, no wonder Asoo idolizes his dad so much.

However, in front of the potion-empowered mage, Asoo’s father as a Gym Leader couldn’t unleash his full strength and ultimately lost to the former.

[You hear the other party’s praise and modestly express that you still have a long way to go]

Baimu tugged at the corner of his mouth.

The Mage clearly didn’t think that using potions was a form of cheating. Which Pokémon Mage wouldn’t feed their Pokémon potions?

And as a fellow cheat, he had no stance to criticize the Mage’s potion strategy.

As for whether the league has improved the rules later, he thought it should have. Over the years, it probably wasn’t just the Mage bringing Pokémon that had taken magic potions to the field.

Sooner or later, people would find out.

[You didn’t stay in Violet City for long because you felt the need to pick up the pace]

The last Gym.

The Mage chose Yanmo City, located amidst towering mountains.

But before that, she had to return to the Magic School, partly to report on her training progress, and partly to attempt to breakthrough the official Mage exam.

[For once, you didn’t collect materials and quickened your pace]

Through dense forests.

The Mage returned to a somewhat eerie-looking castle, and upon entering, Baimu finally glimpsed the internal scene.

——Brighter than imagined, not as flashy as Hogwarts.

As simple as an ordinary private university.

He couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed. Was it just an Alchemy University that looked scientific but was actually engaging in mysticism?

Meanwhile.

The Mage arrived at an office and met the Dean of Teaching.

[Your training results impressed the Dean of Teaching. She not only agreed to your promotion exam but also said that the principal heard of your situation and decided to give you a Pokémon assistant]

The sixth Pokémon was actually gifted?

Baimu curiously watched the light screen, only for a Pokémon with a blue wizard hat, somewhat resembling a human, to suddenly appear beside the Mage.

[You received a Hatterene, increasing the assistants for potion-making]

Hatterene!

This is a Galar Pokémon! Has someone from the Magic School already been to the Galar Region so early?

And they gave her a Complete Form right away!

Baimu looked at the surprised expression on the Mage’s face on the screen, as if he could feel the joy in her heart.

Unfortunately, good things often meet with setbacks.

The Mage failed her promotion exam.

[You realize that you still have some shortcomings, so you hurriedly embarked on the journey to continue challenging the Gyms]

”Did she not even become an official Mage... just how powerful is an official Mage?” Baimu watched the entire exam attentively, but the pixelated screen left him utterly clueless.

The Nirvana Potion wouldn’t fail, would it?

He felt a little anxious.

The scene faded away.

The Mage, along with her new assistant, moved forward together, gradually becoming familiar with each other.

During this time, Eevee evolved.

[Your Eevee evolved into an Umbreon, increasing the raw materials for poison]

It turned out to be an Umbreon...

Raw materials for poison?

Does it mean Umbreon’s sweat?

Baimu felt that the Mage’s team attributes were really mixed, having a bit of everything.

”A fully-formed team of six Pokémon.” He looked at the neatly arranged six Pokémon icons at the bottom of the light screen, feeling that this team was quite luxurious.

You have to know that in the anime’s Silver Conference, someone even won with a Rhyhorn, yet the Mage’s team had all undergone final evolution.

[You arrived at Yanmo City]

Over the mountains.

The Mage finally arrived at the location of the last badge.

[You remember the Dean of Teaching saying that the Yanmo Gym Leader had some acquaintance with her, hoping you could help visit when challenging, and hurriedly you went to Yanmo Gym]

The Yanmo Gym Leader’s outfit was identical to all Dragon Tamers, blue sportswear, vest, and red cape.

This person was very welcoming of the Mage’s arrival, laughing heartily as they led her into the Gym.

”He should be a senior to Lance and Xiaochun, right?”

Baimu thought.

He was also quite curious if the Dragon Tamers of Yanmo City were a branch of the Meteor People, considering the Burial Tower proved that a branch of Meteor People or Glazed People came to the Johto Region.

But the distance between Yanmo City and the Buried Tower was far apart, like the south and north poles.
