Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 798: Chapter 520: Questioning Life (Part 2)

Hit it!

Xiaoshun fixed his gaze on Mawile, catching a glimpse of Baimu across from him. He noticed that Baimu was calmly observing everything, his mouth suddenly cracking a slight smile.

”Fall back.”

What? What did Baimu say!?

Xiaoshun felt a sense of foreboding rising in his heart, but before he could comprehend the command, the dancing Mawile suddenly halted and, without warning, fell backward.

At the same time.

It raised its arms wide, as if eagerly welcoming the approaching Meteor Flygon.

But Xiaoshun was sure that Baimu would never sit idly by—

”Hammering Ice Fist.”

Even though Xiaoshun couldn’t hear clearly, he didn’t hesitate to see what Mawile was doing.

Sparkling blue light flashed.

Boom!!

The thunderous explosion echoed throughout the venue, as the previously calm water surface erupted into a soaring water pillar under Mawile’s sudden strike.

The terrifying cold instantly froze it into an ice pillar, colliding with the descending Meteor Flygon!

The explosive water vapor turned into white mist, spreading beneath the sweep of the shockwave and covering the entire Water Field in an instant!

Before the audience could become curious about the specifics.

A strong wind dispelled the swirling white smoke, revealing the scene in the field to everyone.

In the sunlight-drenched Water Stage—no, it should now be called the Ice Stage, as the sparkling Ice Forest had completely covered the flowing water.

The glistening surface reflected a colorful halo, dazzling yet beautiful.

Mawile lay in the center of the Ice Lake, still as if sleeping like the Ice Princess, evoking a sense of pity from the heart.

”So beautiful! The Water Field has transformed into an Ice Forest! Mawile single-handedly changed the landscape of the venue!” Vivian exclaimed with emotion and then cried out again.

”Look quickly! Flygon is trapped in the ice too!”

Suddenly, at the top of the Ice Forest, within the thickest and longest ice pillar, Flygon’s lower body was imprisoned in a large block of ice, and thin layers of cold adhered to its surface, giving it the appearance of a sculpture.

However.

These icy layers were without hardness, and Flygon easily freed itself—clearly, this was not a Frozen state, and Mawile’s Trait could not put it into a Frozen state.

Merely, as the surging water was frozen instantly, part of its body was coincidentally covered, forming a flimsy shell of ice.

Escaping it was easy.

Yet despite this, Xiaoshun’s score still decreased dramatically before his eyes, not only because of the failed confrontation but also related to Flygon’s condition.

Fairy Wind and Frozen Fist were no mere attacks.

Even though one is a Special Attack and the other did not hit Flygon directly, both resulted in its overall condition deteriorating rapidly, its reactions becoming sluggish, not to mention the reduced flying speed.

Xiaoshun’s expression was somber, unable to believe what had just transpired.

He had barely regained the rhythm in his grasp, only to have it snatched away easily again!

Too fast! Mawile’s speed was just too fast!

Same thought surfaced in his mind once again.

He couldn’t help but think so.

How could Flygon manage to use a single glamorous Transformation Technique in the time it takes Mawile to use two moves?

Even if Frozen Fist was a counterattack triggered later, considering Flygon’s defeat in the face-off, it was no different than two attacks.

Indeed.

Fairy Wind did impact Flygon, but was it that significant? Xiaoshun was very aware that his Pokémon wasn’t weak enough to falter after a single hit.

And since he became a Coordinator Trainer, encountering this kind of situation was rare.

Every occurrence implied the opponent’s Pokémon’s strength...far surpassed his own Pokémon!

No choice!

”Fly to the ice pillar and use Feather Rest!”

He had to think of a way to have Flygon recover its condition. The situation was already desperate, even though there was still ample time, Flygon’s stamina might not endure until the whistle blows.

The only cards left to play were the agility brought by the Floating Trait and the complex environment that Mawile himself had created.

”Laor!”

Flygon persevered against the aches from all over its body, leaping onto the jagged, coarse ice pillar.

[Feather Rest] was a move that could only succeed upon landing.

But Xiaoshun found through long practice that as long as he kept his body from swaying too much after using it, even using the Floating Trait to glide with his wings wouldn’t interrupt the recovery.

Thus, after lengthy focus training, he finally had Flygon master this technique.

Originally planning to use it at the Grand Gorgeous Competition to give Xiaoyao a little surprise, he didn’t expect it to be exposed so early.

No choice.

Exposure, then let it be exposed.

Ensure that the Meteor Flygon can use Feather Rest to recover enough stamina so that it doesn’t affect its various states; only then will there be a performance, seize the moment!

Atop the towering ice pillar.

Countless pure white feathers fell onto various parts of Meteor Flygon’s body, continually emanating waves of rippling green light, healing multiple wounds and quickly easing its expression.

There’s a chance!

Xiaoshun clenched his fist, his gaze swiftly returning to the Mawile located in the center of the Ice Forest.

But then.

In his vision, there was only an orange-yellow turning blazing white fireball, constantly swirling like a brewing storm, slightly expanding and then quickly collapsing.

A silent terror brewed within it.

”Ah.”

He uttered in a daze.

The next second.

Boom—!!

A deafening terrifying explosion!

The flame storm rotated with an engulfing posture, pushing forward and immediately consuming the entire Ice Forest, which had transformed from the Water Field!

The heat current, strong enough to distort the air, caused the venue’s temperature to rise sharply, panic-inducing twisted ripples were everywhere!

Vivian blankly held the microphone, the audience collectively fell silent, the judges’ expressions varied, yet without exception, they all silently gazed at the devastating flame storm soaring into the sky.

Rumble, rumble, rumble!

The thunderous roar continued uninterrupted.

The fully unleashed flame storm mainly targeted the sky, hence the Meteor Flygon, so everyone felt only the aftermath.

Xiaoshun was speechless, feeling his scalp tingle, and his back was already drenched with sweat.

The power disparity...

It’s almost despairing.

He dared to tell Ash Ketchum in the first half of the Advanced Generation:

’Don’t think I’m just a Coordinator Trainer!’

But at this moment, he profoundly realized the huge gap that truly exists between Coordinator Trainers and Trainers, despite their seemingly close links.

Also, why Mikoli can become the Master of the Gorgeous Competition, rather than other equally excellent top Coordinator Trainers.

A moment later.

The flame storm dissipated.

As if it had never existed, the surrounding stage felt unusually clean.

Only half of the pool remained, boiling to the point that wisps of white smoke rose, apparently reaching the boiling point during the flame storm earlier.

The Meteor Flygon lay on its side there, while the Mawile stood on top of it, bent over and panting heavily.

On the big screen.

The last bit of Xiaoshun’s score was completely deducted.

Beep!

The whistle shrieked piercingly.

His avatar suddenly turned gray, and the scoreboards in front of the judges also showed four red crosses.

”Congratulations to Mr. Baimu for advancing to the semi-finals!”

Vivian hastily shouted.

The gradually recovering audience erupted instantly in an earth-shattering cheer and applause!

Although the Gorgeous Battle emphasizes the beauty of moves more, who wouldn’t want to see this grand scene where beauty and strength coexist?

The spiritual shock is also the theme of the Gorgeous Competition!

”...”

Xiaoshun silently withdrew Meteor Flygon, revealing a relieved yet self-mocking smile.

He suddenly felt his secret rivalry with Baimu was childish, especially assuming advantage due to longer participation time.

No wonder after so many years, despite participating in one grand Gorgeous festival after another, he still hadn’t become a top Coordinator Trainer.

He had been stuck for too long in an arrogant mindset and flattered by others.

He looked towards Baimu, who hadn’t returned Mawile to its ball but instead took off his coat, wrapped it, and picked it up, clearly understanding the huge gap between the so-called genius and the true genius.

However.

He absolutely won’t accept defeat like this!

The future is long, we will meet again!

Xiaoshun resolved inwardly, determined to win back one day!
