Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 793: Chapter 518: The Critical Path_2

”When is this happening!”

In anger, Xiaosheng gritted his teeth, wishing he could land a Hell Hand Blade on his forehead.

As his companion was so unreliable, he had to rely on himself, going online to search for some serious strategies related to the gorgeous battles, ”Sis, the opponent is strong, don’t be careless.”

”Don’t worry! Your sister seems to be in an incredibly good state today!”

Xiaoyao smiled and gave an ok sign.

In a flash.

She and her opponent arrived at the venue, each standing on opposite sides of the stage.

The arena followed the tradition of the Mikoli Club, still a large square water pool, at most with semicircular protrusions on both sides for the competitors to stand.

”It’s started!”

Xiaosheng’s expression was tense; even when he himself was in the battle, he wasn’t this nervous.

Xiaogang was quite confident and said, ”Don’t worry, as long as Xiaoyao fully displays her skill, there won’t be any suspense in this match.”

Just as he said.

On stage, Xiaoyao’s Blastoise easily seized control of the battle’s rhythm, using High-speed Spin to play Golduck like a toy, causing the opponent’s score to drop drastically in a short time.

”Turns out it’s a technique-oriented approach...”

Baimu rubbed his chin; from recent battles against Blaziken, it was clear Xiaoyao’s combat skills weren’t actually up to Xiaoguang’s level.

However, Xiaoyao’s strength lay in her emphasis on the techniques of gorgeous battles, investing a lot of effort in suppressing her opponents with brilliant moves, which made her exceptionally strong.

Just like this spinning Blastoise, its offensive capability was alarmingly low, yet using Rocket Head Hammer on Golduck’s chest made it squeal.

After squealing, the battle continued, with no actual damage, which seemed joyous at first glance.

What about the score?

The score was gone, completely deducted.

In the end, the gorgeous battle ended in total loss.

Baimu watched with a wide smile, recalling in the anime that all of Xiaoyao’s Three Families were particularly cute, whether it was Bulbasaur with the heart-shaped spot pattern, or the Squirtle who loved to be coquettish and cry.

But unlike Ash Ketchum, Xiaoyao’s Three Families generally had the opportunity to evolve to their final forms, be it Bulbasaur or Blastoise.

On the other hand, Skitty and Munchlax inexplicably hadn’t evolved yet; the former required a Moonstone which was understandable, but how come the latter, which evolves through friendship, was stuck?

The ”evolution opportunity” was truly an unsolved mystery.

In the arena.

The result of the first battle of the first round was out.

Xiaoyao and Blastoise successfully advanced to the next round by completely deducting their opponent’s score.

”Sis won!” Xiaosheng cheered joyfully.

”Xiaoyao really has a skill!”

Xiaoguang started to look forward to a gorgeous battle with Xiaoyao; the tournament bracket indicated that if both managed to advance smoothly, they would meet in the finals.

It was simply fate.

Of course, it could also be Baimu.

The memory of defeat at the Kanaz Conference was fresh, and both she and Piplup longed for an opportunity to win back.

”Come on, Brother Baimu!”

Xiaosheng’s voice interrupted her thoughts, Baimu was waving his hand without turning back as he walked towards the contestant tunnel, he and Harry happened to be in the second match.

Then Xiaoguang also followed with a shout to cheer him on.

At the junction.

Baimu stopped, glancing at the distant Harry, who should have ”mended his ways” but might still pull some tricks.

To be safe, it was best to beat him quickly.

He thought, slowly walking out of the dazzling, white corridor, squinting his eyes to adjust to the light as a tidal wave of sound filled his mind.

”Baimu! Baimu!”

”Come on! Depend on you!”

”Don’t lose to the opponent! Achieve five consecutive victories!”

Various words converged into a line and drilled into Baimu’s ears; he squinted and looked up at the high-hanging sun, feeling a bit dazed.

That’s right, winning the Mikoli Club would mean five consecutive victories, qualifying him to participate in the grand gorgeous celebration.

Was it the crucial step towards reaching the pinnacle?

He rubbed his somewhat sore neck, as Harry came into view, a Pokeball rolled into his palm.

The host’s voice sounded.

”Second evaluation, first round, second match! Begin!”

With a ding!

The crisp prompt sounded.

The countdown on the large screen in the venue began to change.

Both quickly threw out their Pokeballs!

Bang, bang!

The water waves churned, surging like a living creature outlining the silhouette of Altered-color Milotic, then the fluorescent blue light faded, revealing its stunningly beautiful form.

A rainbow-like splendid long tail, flowing light blue fins, and pomegranate seed-like crystal eyes.

”Mee loo~”

Altered-color Milotic softly hummed, the cheers of excitement continuously echoed from the audience seat, completely missing Harry releasing Cacturne on the other side.

The latter stood on the protruding round board prepared for the trainer, carrying an intimidating aura that inspired fear.

However, the appearance of Altered-color Milotic drew almost everyone’s attention; no one noticed this guy, thus it had no impact on anyone.

No.

It still impacted one—

Altered-color Milotic.

This fool thought the fierce Cacturne was possessing the Intimidating Trait; instead of being scared, it grew excessively excited, glaring back courageously, just short of shouting ”How dare you intimidate me.”

Unfortunately, its Ability Value wasn’t weakened, and the Aggressive Trait could not be triggered.

As for the condition boost caused by emotional excitement... it had nothing to do with any ability change, belonging to other aspects of enhancement.

So.

Failing to feel the enhanced condition left Altered-color Milotic a bit dumbfounded.
