Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Very soon.

Li Yu arrived at the Second Outer City.

As soon as he entered the repair factory, he heard Second Uncle’s voice.

”Old Dong, if your electric vehicle could be a bit lighter, that would be great. It’s too bulky.”

”Internal Affairs Director, the battery technology hadn’t made a breakthrough before Doomsday; generally, it uses lithium iron phosphate batteries or ternary lithium batteries.

The ternary lithium battery, although it holds more electricity per unit, the lithium iron phosphate battery is more durable, as both its cycle lifespan and remaining battery capacity exceed those of the ternary lithium battery.”

”Alright, try to figure out a way. This month, aim to produce five modified electric trucks and try to reduce their weight a bit.”

Old Dong looked troubled but accepted the task nonetheless.

After some thought, he continued:

”Internal Affairs Director, that automatic zombie-clearing vehicle I mentioned last time needs more time, mainly due to motor issues. We’re stuck there.”

Second Uncle didn’t have high hopes and nodded, saying, ”Well, no need to rush.”

”City Lord.” Old Dong spotted Li Yu entering through the door and quickly greeted him.

Li Yu, hearing Old Dong call him, nodded slightly.

Second Uncle, facing Old Dong with his back to the door, hadn’t seen Li Yu initially.

However, upon hearing Old Dong speak, he turned his head to look behind.

”Second Uncle.” Li Yu greeted when he saw Second Uncle turn his head.

Second Uncle, upon seeing Li Yu, relaxed his stern expression and smiled, saying, ”Xiao Yu, you’re here.”

”Yes, Second Uncle, there’s something I need to discuss with you.”

Seeing Li Yu’s serious expression, Second Uncle understood that the topic wasn’t a simple one.

Old Dong, sensing the need for private conversation, wisely didn’t interrupt and slowly moved to the other side.

Once Old Dong departed, Second Uncle asked Li Yu, ”What’s the matter?”

Li Yu glanced around the repair factory and said to Second Uncle, ”Come with me.”

Second Uncle, unsure of what was happening, followed Li Yu out of the repair factory.

It was around four or five in the afternoon, with the sunset casting a golden hue and the light dimming.

The evening glow in the twilight looked particularly beautiful.

Outside, they saw dragonflies flying low. Li Yu led Second Uncle to where a group of ants was gathered.

He asked, ”Second Uncle, have you noticed anything unusual lately?”

”Unusual? Are you talking about these dragonflies?”

”Not just these. Zhou Weiguo, who’s in charge of livestock in the Inner City, mentioned that the cattle and sheep refuse to go out. They need to be driven out with whips to graze.

Moreover, the few wolf dogs I keep have been extremely restless. Doesn’t this seem familiar to you?”

Upon hearing this.

Second Uncle furrowed his brow, his eyes reflecting the thought process.

A few seconds later, he suddenly lifted his head and said:

”You’re saying there might be another major natural disaster? I recall similar phenomena before the last volcanic eruption.”

Li Yu mentally applauded Second Uncle.

He grasped the situation quickly without needing Li Yu to elaborate.

Nodding, Li Yu said:

”I think it’s highly likely. In the past three years, before the major disasters we experienced, similar things happened, so I believe the probability is high.”

”Then, in that case....” Second Uncle pondered deeply, lowering his head and thinking intensely.

”If that’s the case, we need to bring back personnel from the outer cities of the five Satellite Cities, including extra and cooperative personnel! However, given how widespread the operations are, it might take a few days to get them back. It’s uncertain if there’ll be enough time.”

Li Yu plucked a blade of wild grass from the ground, chewing the stem in his mouth.

The wild grass stem tasted somewhat green, carrying a hint of sweetness.

”The sooner we prepare them, the sooner they can evacuate.”

Second Uncle nodded and was about to head towards the duty room.

”No time to waste. I’ll notify them now.”

After walking a few steps, Second Uncle suddenly recalled something.

That’s not right; Xiao Yu specifically sought him out for this matter. Why was there a need to consult him?

Cooperative Personnel!

Yes!

In the past, cooperative and extra personnel were always brought in, but what about the new cooperative personnel this time?

Should they be allowed in?

Recently, some of them had been protesting and rebelling, causing disturbances.

Second Uncle turned back slowly, asking Xiao Yu:

”What should we do about the new cooperative personnel? Should we shelter them?”

Li Yu smiled wryly and responded to Second Uncle:

”That’s exactly what I’m conflicted about, which is why I came to discuss it with you.”

Second Uncle sighed and said, ”Last time, regarding the relatives of the detained protesters, you suggested killing them directly, but I disagreed, thinking it would be a waste. Eventually, I recommended sending them to the Fourth Outer City as laborers, but they rebelled. Luckily, you chained them and sent people to supervise, or else the consequences would have been unimaginable.”

”I’m really embarrassed and hesitant to give suggestions. Just go with your plan.”

Second Uncle felt somewhat ashamed, as he always prided himself on considering things thoroughly, yet he had slipped up previously.

If no damage had resulted from that incident, Second Uncle would have been embarrassed to no end.

Upon hearing Second Uncle’s response, Li Yu spat out the wild grass stem from his mouth.
