Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Inside were some tea leaves, which were still grown by themselves in the base.

However, a previous acid rain had killed many tea trees.

Li Yu heard Third Uncle say that, so he said, ”Then let Uncle Jackal and Uncle Ant go, they go often and are more familiar.”

”Alright, I have no objection, I already said you just go and tell them yourself.” Third Uncle said while sipping some tea.

”Hmm.”

Li Yu watched the shimmering water surface of the Mountain Pond. The fish in it were considered lucky, as before every natural disaster, Li Yu would transfer these fish to the cave and the reservoir at the foot of the hill.

The fish float on the lake surface suddenly sank.

”It’s here!” Li Yu’s eyes brightened when he saw this, and he gave a reminder.

He enjoyed fishing too, but always failed to catch any; he and Li Hang used nets to fish previously.

Yet Third Uncle said calmly, ”No rush, let it get hooked before pulling it up.”

As he spoke, Third Uncle slowly stood up, let out more fishing line, and walked back and forth a few times.

Li Yu looked at Third Uncle’s bending fishing rod and said excitedly, ”Third Uncle, this must be a big fish!”

Even though he couldn’t catch fish himself, watching others catch fish was quite enjoyable.

Suddenly, Third Uncle reeled in, and a big black fish surfaced.

”Ha! It’s probably seven or eight jin.” Third Uncle saw it, revealing a satisfied smile.

Li Yu quickly grabbed the fishing net, walked to the shore, and scooped the fish up.

The net dripped water, revealing a grass carp inside.

A seven or eight jin big grass carp.

”Really big!” Li Yu exclaimed.

Rarely, Third Uncle showed a pleased expression on his face and said with a chuckle,

”Let’s catch a few more, there’ll be an extra dish tonight.”

Li Yu put the big grass carp into the fish holder beside him and then said to Third Uncle, ”Alright, Third Uncle, you fish, I’ll get busy.”

Third Uncle waved his hand, put the sunhat on his head, basking leisurely in the sunshine.

Third Uncle had a special status at the Big Camphor Tree Base; he barely got involved in internal base matters.

But whenever it involves external combat, Third Uncle would be very busy.

Base chores were managed by Second Uncle, defense by Uncle...

In his spare time, he liked to go to the greenhouse to pick fruits, or take some snacks to the Outer City to chat with Old Qin, occasionally coming to fish stealthily by the Mountain Pond reservoir.

His days were quite carefree.

However, nobody dared to underestimate him; Xiao Shi and the others would stop and address him as Captain upon seeing him.

This seemingly ordinary man, looking like an old farmer, was always ranked among the top three in prestige at Big Camphor Tree Base.

.......

Leaving the Mountain Pond, Li Yu found Jackal and Ant and briefed them on the matters; both accepted without hesitation.

However, they needed to stay in Oil City for at least a week. They weren’t sure whether to stay there after taking He Bing and the others over, until the Mobile Switch Blade installation was complete, or to bring He Bing and Zhou Ran there and return to pick them up once everything was done.

Li Yu thought for a while and said, ”Here, let’s have you stay there too, and wait until He Bing and Zhou Ran finish guiding the installation of the Mobile Switch Blade, then you can come back.

Just in time for the second transaction with Southern Paradise in a few days, you can stay there and see.”

”Alright, when should we go?” Jackal asked.

”There’s no time to waste; let’s head over after lunch.”

”Okay, then we’ll go prepare.”

......

Watching the silhouettes of Ant and Jackal leaving, Li Yu exhaled deeply.

Confronted with these former special forces members of Third Uncle, he sometimes worried they wouldn’t listen to him, since they stayed at Big Camphor Tree Base because of Third Uncle.

But now it seemed he worried too much; even without mentioning Third Uncle, Jackal and the others obeyed directly.

And from their expressions, it was clear they were not reluctantly obeying, but genuinely willing to follow his commands.

Subduing such people was a delight for Li Yu.

After all, it was rare to earn respect and allegiance from proud individuals like Jackal.

Li Yu, returning from Outer City to the wall, suddenly heard a gunshot from the Fourth Outer City side.

Bang!

The abrupt gunshot made everyone at the base pause.

Li Yu swiftly drew his gun and rushed towards the construction site at the Fourth Outer City.
