Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Evening.

Xiu County Transfer Station.

Ju Tianrui led the convoy here.

For the past month, Zhou Tian and the others stationed here were extremely bored. Xiao Jun, who was supposed to transport oil back to the Big Camphor Tree Base from Oil City, did not come.

The replacement personnel dispatched from the Big Camphor Tree Base to Oil City also did not arrive.

This made the personnel at the transfer station have to find things to do daily, seeking materials around the transfer station to reinforce it.

Ju Tianrui had already contacted Zhou Tian via walkie-talkie before arriving here.

So when they arrived at the gate of the transfer station, Zhou Tian personally brought people down to open the gate.

This transfer station was established on the campus of a fully enclosed militarized high school.

The gate was no longer the same as a month ago. It’s unknown where Zhou Tian and the others found several iron plates to piece together on the original gate, forming an iron gate 30 centimeters thick.

”Camp Commander.” Zhou Tian exclaimed excitedly when he saw Ju Tianrui in the lead vehicle.

Zhou Tian and the others, before joining the Big Camphor Tree Base, were under Ju Tianrui’s command.

Even after Ju Tianrui joined and became the captain of the Outer City Combat Group, Second Team, Zhou Tian was still accustomed to calling him that.

Seeing Zhou Tian, whom he hadn’t seen for a long time, Ju Tianrui felt incredibly close and said to Zhou Tian, ”Zhou Tian, long time no see.”

The vehicle turned a corner, leaving space at the gate for the cars behind to enter.

Screech——

The vehicle stopped, and Ju Tianrui got down from it.

With a smile on his face, he walked quickly up to Zhou Tian and punched him gently in the chest a few times, ”Good lad, how did you get skinnier and darker? I haven’t given you any tasks this month, so why did you lose weight!”

Zhou Tian pointed to the gate and some spikes on top of the surrounding wall.

With a bitter smile, he said, ”This place is too big, and there are only a few of us. The defenses here are too weak. We always want to strengthen them a bit, but we are too short on manpower, so we just have to make do with what we have.”

”By the way, Camp Commander, how’s it going at the Big Camphor Tree Base? Any new updates?”

Zhou Tian and the others here, unlike those in Oil City, don’t have a military radio, so they haven’t been up to date on a lot of news for over a month.

Yesterday, Li Yu and his team stayed for just over ten minutes, but they were rushing to Oil City to discuss cooperation, so they didn’t ask about recent events either.

But today, Ju Tianrui and his team were going to stay overnight, so they could ask about any new developments from the Big Camphor Tree Base and Oil City.

Ju Tianrui, looking at the now much darker and skinnier Zhou Tian, said:

”Director Li’s latest arrangement is that about a week from now, Xiao Jun will bring a convoy full of oil back to the Big Camphor Tree Base. You’ll pass through here, and you should return to the Big Camphor Tree Base with him.”

Zhou Tian, hearing this, was filled with doubt: ”Huh? What about the transfer station? Are we not leaving anyone here?”

Although Ju Tianrui was also a bit puzzled, this was personally instructed by Li Yu, so he said:

”Director Li’s intention is to temporarily close the transfer station and have you all return to the Big Camphor Tree Base together. This time I went to Oil City, and Director Li specially asked me to bring three months of food supplies. Director Li must have his reasons and considerations for such an arrangement, we just need to follow through.”

Zhou Tian put down the beam he held to lock the gate, thought for a moment, and said:

”Okay, so I’ll wait here for another week, right?”

”Yes, Xiao Jun will come by to get you then.”

Zhou Tian sensed something unusual and asked:

”What about you? Are you staying in Oil City this time?”

Ju Tianrui shook his head and said, ”I’m not sure. Director Li asked me to go and take over for Xiao Jun and his team over there first.

By the way, have you encountered any problems recently?”

”We haven’t had any issues, but we did encounter a survivor team a while back. They passed by without any communication and kept heading north.”

”Hmm, when did this happen?”

Zhou Tian thought carefully and said:

”About ten days ago. They just passed by. We saw them, but they probably didn’t notice us and hurried away.”

As the convoy slowly drove in, the other two team members stationed at the transfer station lifted the beam Zhou Tian had placed on the ground to lock the gate.

Although locking the gate this way is cumbersome, it is secure.

If zombies or enemies try to break in, they would have to knock down the entire gate along with the concrete pillars on both sides; otherwise, it would be hard to open the gate.

Ju Tianrui and his team, while chatting, unloaded some food supplies for Zhou Tian and his group.

During the unloading, Zhou Tian was surprised to find a mobile switch blade.

He asked Ju Tianrui, who was not far away, in amazement:

”Isn’t this the base’s mobile switch blade? Why was it removed? No, this mobile switch blade seems smaller and more updated. Did they make another set?”

Ju Tianrui put the telescope back into his pack and nodded:

”Yes, this set is newly made, and it’s a bit smaller than the ones at the Big Camphor Tree Base. I don’t know when Director Li arranged it. Some time ago, I went to Southeast Asia with Director Li, and a few days after we returned, Director Li had He Bing hand these mobile switch blades over to me.”

”Southeast Asia? You guys went that far? What were you doing there?”

Upon being asked, Ju Tianrui told Zhou Tian a bit about what had happened recently.
