Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Sensible!

Encouraging them for a few words, letting them take the food away, and then it was Jiu Ge and others’ turn.

Soon, these promoted personnel received iron plaques symbolizing their status as extra staff. Each group only had one of these iron plaques, and they also received food according to the number of people.

Li Yu looked at everyone and said lastly:

”I hope you all take them as an example and contribute to the Big Camphor Tree. I won’t let you down. Alright, everyone can disperse now.”

After speaking, Li Yu stepped down from the platform and walked towards Weng City.

Li Yu never liked lengthy speeches. He quickly finished what he had to say, then distributed everything that needed to be given, ending the matter in one go.

This style also matched everyone’s impression of him.

Pragmatism.

Flattery had no meaning in front of Li Yu. Only with real contributions or strong abilities could one naturally receive better treatment.

After Li Yu left, the onlookers all congratulated Dongfeng and the others who were promoted.

Zhong Chuchu, leading Shen Xiaoxiao, walked to Noble Consort and Old Huang, smiling and said, ”Congratulations on becoming extra staff.”

Before Noble Consort could speak, Old Huang interjected:

”Chuchu, you guys should be up next too. By the way, do you have enough food? If not, we can give you some.”

Noble Consort also spoke up, ”Yes, you guys took care of us before.”

Saying so, she tried to hand the bag of food she just received to Zhong Chuchu and her group.

In doomsday times, the preciousness of food is beyond doubt.

Zhong Chuchu and Old Huang came from Oil City, and Zhong Chuchu took good care of them along the way.

Zhong Chuchu thought that since they became extra staff, their attitude towards her might change, but didn’t expect Old Huang to actually offer food.

This act was more substantial than any flattering words.

Zhong Chuchu felt happy but didn’t accept the food from Noble Consort.

”We went to Southeast Asia a while ago and exchanged quite a bit of food. Also, since we’re all building in the Fourth Outer City now, we earn stable points daily, so there’s no shortage of food for the time being. You guys are few in number and tasks are hard, we appreciate the thought, but we don’t need the food,” Zhong Chuchu said.

Old Huang and his group only consisted of three people, and their monthly food subsidy wasn’t much, making the small bag quite meager.

But the main reason Old Huang made the offer was because they still had plenty of unredeemed food contribution points at the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Whether it was the previous discovery of a large amount of wiring and brass or this time’s information report, they gained quite a few contribution points.

Given there are few of them, apart from the food they already had, the remaining points could exchange for enough food to last them half a year.

In fact, their group, Noble Consort’s, arguably held the most food per person among the extra staff.

However, Zhong Chuchu was unaware of this, thinking Noble Consort’s group had offered more than half of their food.

Hearing Zhong Chuchu say this, Old Huang didn’t further discuss giving them the food.

After all, having more food was more reassuring than anything else in doomsday times.

They chatted for a while, then Noble Consort and the other two followed Zhong Chuchu’s group to the place where they were staying now.

Today, Noble Consort’s group temporarily stayed there, and tomorrow, when the base’s residents head to the Satellite City, they would take them along.

.....

Oil City.

Using military radio to connect with He Bing and Zhou Ran at Big Camphor Tree Base, they were busily installing the simplified version of the mobile switch blade brought over by Ju Tianrui and his team.

”So, you still can’t understand? Alright, I’ll ask Director Li later if I can come over to your side,” He Bing said with a sigh.

Ju Tianrui felt a bit embarrassed, as they had already received a few hours of basic training from He Bing and Zhou Ran before setting off, but being combat personnel, they were indeed clueless about machinery.

”Yes, if you can come, that would be best,” Ju Tianrui acknowledged their inability to complete the task and didn’t try to save face by insisting they’d figure it out themselves.

After all, Li Yu had already issued a strict order to have these mobile switch blades installed on the walls within ten days.

Subsequently.

He Bing found Li Yu and discussed the mobile switch blade installation issue at Oil City with him.

Li Yu also didn’t understand it, so after thinking it over for a while, he said:

”Alright, take a few people, prepare, and this afternoon I’ll send a helicopter to take you over there to guide for a few days, or stay until the mobile switch blade issue is resolved before you return.”

He Bing thought about it. Having never been to Oil City, as a technical specialist, he had been confined to the base’s outer city without being able to go anywhere. Having a chance to go out and see sounded like a good opportunity, so he readily agreed.

”Alright, prepare now,” Li Yu instructed.

He had just returned from the walls and was about to find Third Uncle.

After speaking with He Bing, he went to the Inner City to find Third Uncle and discussed the situation at Oil City with him.

”Third Uncle, do you think it’s better to send Luo’s team or Uncle Jackal’s team?”

Third Uncle was leisurely fishing at the Mountain Pond with a fishing rod.

”You can arrange that as you see fit. If you want the Jackals to go, just tell them, they’ll listen to you,” Third Uncle said, opening a thermos next to him.
