Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: The Empress Is Dumbfounded Again: It Can Even Absorb Mental Power?

’Seriously, lady?’

’Are you out of your mind?’

’First you freeze on the spot, and now you’re randomly cussing me out? What’s that supposed to mean?!’

Sensing Chu Sheng’s utter bewilderment.

Gu Yuexi had to explain, “…I’m not cussing you out. A Spiritual Mind Master has targeted me and is constantly attacking me. I can’t pinpoint his exact location…”

She paused.

Gu Yuexi suddenly seemed to think of something and looked at the mosquito on her shoulder. “Don’t you have some kind of ’scouting’ ability? Can you help me scan the surrounding woods and see if someone is hiding in there?”

’A First-Grade Late Stage Spiritual Mind Master has a Mental Power range of 500 or 600 meters at most. Given the scouting ability this mosquito displayed back in the Black Forest, it should be able to find him, right?’

Chu Sheng: “…”

’You should have said so sooner, dammit!’

From the very beginning, his [Blood Food Tracking] Skill had locked onto a target emitting human Qi Blood.

The target was hundreds of meters away in the forest, jumping up and down like a monkey, though Chu Sheng had no idea what he was doing.

Chu Sheng hadn’t paid it much mind, just assuming it was some unlucky student being chased by a Demon Beast.

But now…

’This must be the Spiritual Mind Master the Empress was talking about, right?’

An idea sparked in Chu Sheng’s mind. He immediately used their Blood Covenant link to transmit the position and movement trajectory of the “monkey” he’d perceived to Gu Yuexi via an extremely simple mental wave.

BUZZ!

Gu Yuexi’s eyes flashed.

She instantly understood Chu Sheng’s meaning!

“Found you!”

A chilling killing intent flickered in Gu Yuexi’s eyes, and she hesitated no longer.

BOOM—!

The ground beneath her feet cracked apart as she shot forward like a cannonball, her body’s Qi Blood Power erupting without reservation as she charged straight in the direction Chu Sheng had indicated!

Hundreds of meters away.

Qin Feng, who was on another tree preparing to launch his next Spiritual Attack, suddenly felt an intense sense of crisis wash over him!

In his spiritual Perception, Gu Yuexi, who had been standing perfectly still just moments before…

…was now charging straight for him like an uncaged cheetah, exploding with astonishing Speed!

“Shit! I’ve been discovered?!”

Qin Feng’s pupils shrank. Horrified, he didn’t even have time to think, turning to flee immediately!

But unfortunately for him.

He was a Spiritual Mind Master who had poured all his talent and energy into the Cultivation of Mental Power; his physical strength was no different from an ordinary person’s.

Compared to a Peak First-Grade Martial Artist who had unleashed her full Qi Blood Power, his Speed was so slow it looked like he was taking a leisurely stroll!

In the span of just two breaths, Gu Yuexi was already right behind him. The fierce wind from her fist was so close it made his back ache!

“No…”

Qin Feng turned his head in terror, opening his mouth to say something.

But all he saw was a fair-skinned fist, growing infinitely larger in his horrified gaze!

BANG!

A dull thud!

Qin Feng couldn’t even let out a scream.

His body flew backward off the tree like a broken kite, slammed hard against another large tree, and then slid to the ground, his condition unknown!

Gu Yuexi landed softly, her eyes cold as she looked at the boy collapsed on the ground, foaming at the mouth and completely unconscious.

’Nice, a one-punch KO? Just as expected of a Spiritual Mind Master. Such a glass cannon!’

Chu Sheng couldn’t help but make a sarcastic comment from his perch on her shoulder.

He had already guessed that this was most likely Leng Yan’s method of revenge.

Otherwise, why would someone target them right after they entered the Secret Realm for no reason?

’What a shame. It’s a Spiritual Mind Master. Even if I drained all his blood, I probably wouldn’t get many Qi Blood Points.’

Chu Sheng was a little disappointed. ’If only it had been a Peak First-Grade Martial Artist. One sip of that would get me at least a dozen or so Qi Blood points, right?’

’Ah, forget it. No point in drinking from such a low-quality blood bag!’

However, just as he was about to urge the Empress to finish the guy off so they could leave and not waste any more time…

…his gaze unintentionally fell upon the space between Qin Feng’s eyebrows.

There, an almost imperceptible, star-like wisp of light was slowly dissipating.

It was the materialized Mental Power that Qin Feng hadn’t had time to retract after his spellcasting was forcibly interrupted.

For some reason…

…the moment he saw this wisp of Mental Power, Chu Sheng suddenly felt a pang of… hunger?

’It looks… kind of tasty?’

Chu Sheng froze for a second. He subconsciously activated [Blood Food Tracking], only to find that there wasn’t the slightest fluctuation of Qi Blood in the wisp of light.

But the “temptation” it exuded was real, no less alluring than the blood of a Demon Beast with a High-Level Bloodline!

’What the hell? What’s going on?’

’Don’t tell me… I can suck this stuff too?’

Chu Sheng was rather baffled. ’Isn’t my system supposed to make me stronger by sucking blood? It can’t absorb Mental Power too, can it?’

Infinite Evolution System: […]

’Hiss… well, it doesn’t look dangerous… Why not give it a try?’

Just as Gu Yuexi was hesitating, wondering whether she should wake Qin Feng up for interrogation, she suddenly felt the weight on her shoulder lighten.

She turned her head in surprise, only to see the mosquito flying straight toward the fallen Qin Feng.

Hmm?

Gu Yuexi’s fine brows furrowed slightly. ’Such pathetic Qi Blood, and this guy is still interested? Since when did his appetite become so un-picky?’

However, in the next second…

…she witnessed a scene she would never forget for the rest of her life.

Chu Sheng didn’t fly to Qin Feng’s neck to suck his blood. Instead, he hovered in front of his face, aimed his crimson [Melt Heart Demon Spike] at the space between Qin Feng’s eyebrows, and without hesitation…

SQUELCH, plunged it right in!

Gu Yuexi: “???”

’What… what is he doing?’

And at that moment, a series of brand-new system notifications began to ring crazily in Chu Sheng’s mind!

[Ding! High-Purity Spiritual Energy detected! Commencing absorption!]

[Mental Power +2.1!]

[Mental Power +1.3!]

[Mental Power +1.5!]

…

[Ding! A total of 9.8 points of Mental Power have been absorbed! Current total Mental Power: 31.6!]

’Holy shit! It actually works?!’

Feeling the cool sensation spreading through his mind and an experience far more gratifying than sucking blood, the entire mosquito felt so good he was about to fly off the handle!

’I’ve hit the jackpot!’

’My biggest weakness has always been that my Mental Power growth is too slow to keep up with the explosive increase in my Qi Blood!’

’When the Empress was hit with that Spiritual Attack just now, I didn’t notice a thing!’

’If that Qin Feng had launched a Spiritual Attack on me just now, wouldn’t I have been toast?’

’This weakness can be really fatal at times!’

But now, everything’s changed!

’From now on, I can suck not only blood but also Mental Power!’

’I’m becoming a true all-rounder!!’

However, as the 9.8 points of Mental Power surged into his mind, a strong sense of dizziness came with it, making his head feel swollen, as if it were about to burst.

’It seems my current Mental Power limit is too low to absorb so much at once.’

’I need to take it slow!’

Chu Sheng contentedly pulled out his proboscis and shook his slightly dizzy head.

Meanwhile, Gu Yuexi, who was standing to the side, was completely dumbfounded.

’It… It’s absorbing Mental Power?!’

And!

’It seems to be converting the absorbed Mental Power into its own?!’

’Wait… how is that even possible?’

In her past life as the Empress, who stood at the pinnacle of the world, she had never heard of any creature possessing such a heaven-defying ability!

Gu Yuexi had thought that after everything they had been through, she could no longer be shocked by this mosquito… Who would have thought it still had new tricks up its sleeve!!
