Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Suck, Suck, Suck! Qi Blood Breaks 400! Rank 1 Peak!

’My Total Qi Blood is 175.8 right now. I still need over 320 more points to reach the 500 required for my next evolution…’

’At this rate… gathering the requirements for my fourth evolution within three days… seems… actually possible?’

At this thought, Chu Sheng rubbed his hands together in excitement. His evolution efficiency was simply ridiculous.

If he kept up this speed, becoming a being with an Emperor-level Bloodline was only a matter of time.

While waiting for the blood to digest, he checked his panel. His gaze suddenly froze as it swept over the Skills column.

At the very bottom of the skill list, a new, grayed-out, and locked skill had appeared.

[Molten Armor (Locked): Active Skill. Condense a layer of flowing Molten Fire Armor on the body’s surface, formed from Cyan Flame Power. Greatly increases physical and Flame Resistance, and inflicts continuous burning damage to targets upon close contact. (Unlock for 15 Evolution Points.)]

’Huh? A new skill? How did I not notice this before!’

Chu Sheng’s eyes lit up.

’This skill is great. It’s for both offense and defense, and most importantly, it can significantly boost my Defense Power!’

’A mosquito’s body has the weakest Defense among creatures of the same grade!’

’If I unlock this skill, I can make up for my biggest weakness. I’ll become a Hexagon Warrior who can fly, fight up close, attack from a distance, summon minions, and have high Defense!’

Chu Sheng was genuinely drooling over it.

Unfortunately, he had too few Evolution Points right now. Even after digesting the blood in his belly, he would only have a total of 13.8, which wasn’t nearly enough to unlock it.

Besides, he definitely had to save up the eighty Evolution Points needed for his next evolution before even thinking about unlocking or upgrading skills.

’Better not worry about skills for now. Sucking blood is the top priority.’

Chu Sheng shook his head, put away the panel, and stopped overthinking. He closed his eyes to rest and recuperate.

Meanwhile, Gu Yuexi had already cradled the Azure Flame Flying Lion’s corpse in her arms and begun her Cultivation, circulating the Ten Thousand Beasts Melting Furnace Technique.

Man and mosquito, their auras were both growing at a rapid pace!

「Three days passed in the blink of an eye.」

For the past three days, the entire Jiang City Lingwu High School was abuzz with discussions about Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng, the “Divine Mosquito.”

However, under heavy pressure from the City Lord’s Mansion, all this news was strictly confined within the school campus.

As the morning light of the third day shone into the tent, the two Azure Flame Flying Lion cub corpses had been reduced to nothing but shriveled skin and bones, not a single drop of Essence Blood left to be squeezed out.

’Not bad, not bad at all…’

Chu Sheng contentedly felt the immense Qi Blood surging within him.

After three days of frenzied feeding, his appearance had also undergone a more significant change.

The dark red cracks on his carapace were growing brighter, as if real magma was flowing beneath them.

When he beat his wings, he could already generate visible ripples of scorching heat that distorted the air.

With a thought, he opened his system panel to check his gains.

[Qi Blood: 456.6 (Peak of First-Grade)]

[Evolution Points: 67.1]

’Holy crap! I’m so close!’

Looking at these stats, Chu Sheng felt both excited and frustrated.

He was excited because he was just one step away from the 500 Qi Blood and 80 Evolution Points needed for his fourth evolution.

He was frustrated because he had originally thought that the two cub corpses, plus the mother lion’s Essence Blood he had brought back, would be more than enough for him to break through.

But in the end, over these three days, he had only absorbed a little over two hundred and eighty points of Qi Blood himself!

’It’s all this Empress’s fault!’

’She absorbed even more than I did!’

’So ruthless! Doesn’t she know how to yield a little to her own Contracted Beast?!’

’Sigh, it’s a shame my [Melt Heart Demon Spike] does too much damage when it sucks blood. Otherwise, I’d definitely sneak a couple of bites from her to make up for the Qi Blood I’m missing…’

Chu Sheng sighed, not bothering to dwell on it any longer. It seemed his only hope was to find some big blood bags in the Black Stone Secret Realm to top himself off.

’Sigh… This Empress is really something else!’

He couldn’t help but complain one more time.

Gu Yuexi, who was currently consolidating her Cultivation, clearly felt the intense resentment coming from the other end of the Blood Covenant.

Gu Yuexi: “…”

She felt a little helpless herself.

’Actually, I’ve already been very considerate of this mosquito. I was originally planning to leave half of the Essence Blood for it.’

’But it couldn’t be helped. Just last night, my Cultivation hit a bottleneck, and I was just a step away from the Peak of First-Grade.’

’Under the impact of the immense Essence Blood Energy, I couldn’t hold back and ended up absorbing a little extra…’

That’s right. She had also successfully broken through and reached the Peak of First-Grade Martial Artist!

With her combat experience and skills from her past life as the Beast Taming Empress, her current strength was enough to easily fight and defeat a Second-Grade Early Stage Martial Artist!

It could be said that among all the students at Jiang City Lingwu High School, she was now, without a doubt, the strongest!

’From First-Grade Early Stage to the Peak of First-Grade in less than a week after being reborn!’

’This is what this Empress is made of!’

Gu Yuexi felt quite proud of herself.

But when she subconsciously used the Blood Covenant to perceive the mosquito’s aura, she instantly lost her composure.

’This… This guy’s aura… has also reached the Peak of First-Grade?!’

Gu Yuexi was more than a little dumbfounded.

’I relied on my experience from two lifetimes, plus a Forbidden Evil Technique, and cultivated desperately just to barely reach this realm in three days!’

’But this mosquito?’

’It did nothing but lie there, eating and sleeping, sleeping and eating, and it actually kept up with my speed?!’

This wasn’t just outrageous; it completely subverted her understanding of the very concept of Cultivation!

This freak’s growth rate was so fast that even she, the Reborn Empress, felt a flutter of alarm in her heart.

“What an absurd creature…”

Sighing softly, Gu Yuexi turned her head, her gaze falling on another corner of the tent.

There, the only surviving Azure Flame Flying Lion cub was already a whole size bigger than when it was born, almost as large as an adult Maine Coon. It was fast asleep on a soft animal hide mat.

These past three days, Gu Yuexi had truly experienced the hardships of being a mother.

To feed this little one, she had spent almost all the money she earned from the Iron-skinned Pigs, ordering the most expensive fresh Demon Beast meat delivery for it every day, much to Chu Sheng’s envy.

But what she found most exhausting was that the little cub wasn’t attached to her, its “caretaker,” at all!

Instead…

Just then, the little cub seemed to wake up. It blearily opened its eyes and immediately spotted Chu Sheng, who was resting on the ground not far away.

It immediately scrambled up in excitement and, on its still-unsteady legs, trotted happily over to Chu Sheng.

And then… with its big, fluffy head, it began to affectionately, repeatedly, and vigorously nuzzle the grounded Chu Sheng! It even threw in some rolling-on-the-ground-style rubbing for good measure!

“…Damn it! Again?!”

Rage flared in Chu Sheng’s heart. He’d been annoyed to death by this little bastard for the past few days!

He flapped his wings abruptly, sending out a wave of scorching air. With a SMACK, he lightly slapped the cub on its forehead.

“Awoo?”

The little lion was knocked flat on its butt.

It dazedly shook its large head, its two azure eyes filled with innocence and grievance. “Awooo~! (Waaaah! Mommy, why did you hit me?)”

Chu Sheng: “…”

Watching from the side, Gu Yuexi sighed helplessly. She had probably guessed the reason.

’Perhaps because this mosquito absorbed a large amount of its mother’s blood during its evolution, it created some kind of Bloodline affinity?’

Chu Sheng flew into the air and looked down at the little lion sitting on the ground, staring up at him with teary eyes. He was at a loss for words.

He looked at the cub, sensing the increasingly pure and alluring aura of a High-Level Bloodline within its body, and subconsciously smacked his lips.

’This little guy is looking more and more delicious… I mean, atrocious! Yes, atrocious!’

’Mm, as expected of a High-Level Bloodline Demon Beast cub!’

“Let’s go. It’s time for the assessment!”

Just then, Gu Yuexi’s voice rang out.

With a wave of her hand, she recalled the cub, which was still sitting on the ground and about to get up to act cute again, into her Beast Taming Pouch.
