Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: The Mantis Stalks the Cicada, the Mosquito Is Behind

Inside the valley, a stark contrast to the cacophony and carnage outside, it was deathly silent.

One person and one mosquito ventured deeper, moving with extreme caution.

Soon, in the deepest part of the valley, they found the source of the thick, coppery scent of blood.

A giant lion, the size of a heavy-duty truck, its body smoldering with dim flames and a pair of feathered wings on its back, lay quietly in a pool of its own blood.

Blood flowed like a river from its lower body; all signs of life were gone. It had clearly succumbed to the trauma of a difficult birth.

Beside its still-warm corpse were three small lion cubs, their fur a fiery red and still damp, their eyes yet to open.

Acting on instinct, they nuzzled against their mother’s underbelly, whimpering as they searched hungrily for milk.

“Holy shit!”

Seeing this, Chu Sheng’s tiny mosquito heart nearly burst from his chest. He was instantly overwhelmed by ecstasy.

’Jackpot! We’ve really hit the jackpot this time!’

Gu Yuexi’s breathing grew ragged as well, and an irrepressible, fiery light erupted from within her usually cold eyes.

The mother lion was dead, but the cubs were alive!

It was as if heaven itself was spoon-feeding them!

“Heh heh, you three little rascals, do you even know what you’re doing? Watch me!”

Chu Sheng couldn’t hold back any longer. To him, the mother lion’s corpse looked like a mountain of pure gold.

He leaped from Gu Yuexi’s shoulder and landed eagerly on the lioness’s corpse, viciously plunging his long, thick [Armor-Piercing Spike] into it!

SCHLORP—!

[Qi Blood +15.2]

[Qi Blood +16.1]

[Qi Blood +18.5…]

[Ding! Host has absorbed 49.8 Qi Blood! Current Total Qi Blood is 151.1!]

“Holy shit! Fucking awesome!”

Chu Sheng felt the immense amount of Qi Blood instantly surge through him, almost to the point of bursting. He was so thrilled he nearly evolved on the spot!

That one mouthful! It was more than the total he’d drained from a dozen Iron-skinned Pigs and a Wind Blade Wolf combined!

As expected of an Eighth-Grade Demon Beast’s Essence Blood, the quality was absolutely top-notch!

Meanwhile, Gu Yuexi could no longer be bothered to maintain her image as an Empress.

Overcome with excitement, she dashed to the lioness’s corpse, pressed her hands directly onto its wound, and frantically activated her [Ten Thousand Beasts Melting Furnace Technique]!

Instantly, streams of incredibly pure, blood-red energy surged into her body like countless rivers flowing into the sea.

The scene was unspeakably bizarre: a cool, stunningly beautiful young woman leaning over a giant lion’s corpse, wreathed in an aura of blood.

But she was far past caring about appearances, focusing only on absorbing the energy with frantic desperation.

However, after just a few moments, she was forced to stop.

’It’s no good, I can’t refine it fast enough!’

The Essence Blood energy of an Eighth-Grade Demon Beast was too immense and violent. At her current level, just suppressing it to avoid [Beastification] took all her concentration, making it impossible to refine completely in a short time.

And the battle outside could end at any moment!

There was no way she could get the lioness’s massive corpse out of here.

Gu Yuexi’s gaze naturally fell upon the three still-whimpering lion cubs.

Chu Sheng also knew they couldn’t take the corpse, but looking at this ground covered in a “Top-Grade Blood Spring,” he felt a profound sense of unwillingness to let it go to waste!

’Waste is the greatest crime!’

’I have to bring some of it back!’

“My minions! Time to get to work!”

With a single thought, he released the entire army of over a thousand insects he had just recruited from his [Insect Race Space]. A dense black swarm instantly enveloped the mother lion’s corpse.

“Drink up! Drink as much as you can! Fill your bellies!”

In an instant, hundreds upon hundreds of mosquitoes, flies, bedbugs… all swarmed forward, beginning a frenzied “all-you-can-eat buffet.”

Gu Yuexi: “…”

She watched this dumbfounding spectacle, the corner of her mouth twitching. She no longer knew what expression to make when facing this mosquito.

Her gaze returned to the three cubs.

“Azure Flame Flying Lion…”

Gu Yuexi’s eyes were filled with a burning fervor.

This top-tier, High-Level Bloodline was in a completely different league from the Spiritual Cyan Snake she had bought before!

The Spiritual Cyan Snake had an extremely high risk of death during its growth, with only a slim chance of survival.

But the Azure Flame Flying Lion was different. This Bloodline was extremely stable. It required almost no effort to raise; as long as it was well-fed, it would reliably grow into a terrifying existence at the Seventh-Grade or higher!

A single one could be sold at auction for a sky-high price of over a hundred million!

’Should I kill them directly, absorb their Essence Blood for a short-term power boost? Or…’

Had it been the old Gu Yuexi, the one who believed her path as a Beast Tamer was completely severed, she would have unhesitatingly chosen the former.

But now…

She glanced at the strange mosquito beside her, who was currently directing his insect swarm in the business of “packing up” the goods.

This fellow’s existence had rekindled a faint but real flicker of hope in her heart for Beast Taming, which had long since gone cold.

’Perhaps… I really can gamble one more time!’

’Three of them. I want them all!’

Gu Yuexi made her decision.

Fortunately, the three cubs were newborns and not very big, like three little kittens, so she could just barely hold them in her arms.

The only problem was… trying to sneak back out the way she came, unnoticed, while carrying three squirming, lively cubs? The difficulty had just increased tenfold, if not more!

But no matter what, she had to take the gamble!

These three cubs were just too valuable! Whether for her future, or for the money!

’I’ll risk it!’

“BZZZZ! (Empress, you done? I’m finished packing over here, time to go!)” Chu Sheng urged, recalling the thousand “Moving Blood Bottles,” their bellies round and full, into his Space.

Gu Yuexi hesitated no longer. She quickly and carefully gathered the three cubs into her arms, wrapping them in her school uniform jacket.

“Let’s go!”

The pair activated the [Breath Concealing Technique] once more and began to sneak back toward the valley entrance, retracing their steps.

The first half of their retreat was tense but uneventful.

The battle outside had reached a fever pitch. Though the Shadow Fang Squad was formidable, they had started taking casualties against the endless beast tide. Their formation was in tatters, and no one had the spare energy to notice any movement at the periphery.

However, just as they were about to escape the battlefield completely, the unexpected happened!

A Fifth-Grade Three-Eyed Demon Wolf, its forelimbs severed, let out a final, dying roar. Its middle eye suddenly burst, shooting a devastating beam of Demonic Power that shot straight—unerringly—toward the rock Gu Yuexi was hiding behind!

BOOM—!

The rock was instantly blasted to dust!

Caught completely off guard, Gu Yuexi’s figure was exposed to everyone’s sight!

“Who’s there?!”

Leng Yan, currently entangled with a Sixth-Grade Demon Beast, was the first to spot her. When she got a clear look at the three cubs in Gu Yuexi’s arms, which radiated the aura of a High-Level Bloodline, her icy face was instantly flooded with shock and a towering rage!

“It’s her! It’s that student!” Hu Feng shrieked.

The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the yellow sparrow behind!

They were here fighting for their lives, only to have some insignificant little girl sneak in and steal the prize from under their noses?!

“Courting death!”

Leng Yan flew into a rage. Ignoring the Demon Beast in front of her, she roared, “Ice Qilin! Stop her! Everyone else, get those cubs back, no matter the cost!”

However, her primary combat Contracted Beast, the Ice Soul Qilin, was currently besieged by three Sixth-Grade Demon Beasts and couldn’t possibly break away!

“ROAR!”

Seeing this, the killing intent in Leng Yan’s eyes intensified, and she directly summoned her second Contracted Beast!

It was a Fifth-Grade Demon Beast with an agile build, wreathed in cyan wind blades—a Gale Demon Leopard!

“Go! Kill her!”
