Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Chu Sheng’s Plan: Triggering a Beast Tide?

They were an elite squad led by a Seventh-Grade Beast Tamer! Faced with such an absolute disparity in strength, any scheme seemed futile!

’Has this mosquito gone completely insane?’

But…

For some reason, when she saw the light of what could only be called “confidence” glittering in Chu Sheng’s tiny compound eyes…

…a glimmer of hope inexplicably rose in her heart, which had already sunk to rock bottom.

’This guy has been working miracles ever since we met.’

’Maybe… this time, he really can…’

’Whatever! It’s a long shot, but I’ll take it!’

Gu Yuexi gritted her teeth, deciding to trust him one more time.

Seeing the Empress had calmed down for the moment, Chu Sheng immediately focused his attention on his system panel.

[Host: Chu Sheng]

[Race: Blade-winged Blood Mosquito]

[Lifespan: 93 Days]

[Qi Blood: 101.3]

[Spirit: 10.2]

[Evolution Points: 16.1]

[Tier: First-Grade Early Stage Demon Beast]

[Skills: Armor-Piercing Spike Lv3, Blood Food Tracking Lv2, Insect Race Space Lv3, Wing Blade Slash Lv2]

[Notice: Third evolution available! Requires 10 Evolution Points. Estimated evolution time: 10 hours!]

’16.1 Evolution Points… That’s enough!’

A sharp glint flashed in Chu Sheng’s eyes, and he unhesitatingly issued a command to the system in his mind.

’System! Upgrade Blood Food Tracking!’

[Ding! 5 Evolution Points consumed. ’Blood Food Tracking Lv2’ has been upgraded to ’Blood Food Tracking Lv3’!]

[Blood Food Tracking Lv3: The host can perceive any creature with blood within an 800-meter radius! Perception accuracy has been greatly enhanced!]

’Eight hundred meters… not bad…’

Chu Sheng nodded slightly. This range was more than enough for him to execute his plan!

He immediately activated the upgraded skill to its maximum. In an instant, a life map of the 800-meter radius appeared with even greater clarity in his mind.

Then, with a thought, he secretly released thirty ordinary little mosquitoes from his [Insect Race Space]. They were the size of sesame seeds, almost microscopic.

Mm… that’s right. The kind that are super tiny but leave an incredibly itchy bite!

’Go!’

Under his precise control, the thirty small mosquitoes used the cover of grass and rocks to silently bypass the Shadow Fang Squad’s perimeter and fly into the valley.

Although the members of the Shadow Fang Squad were all experienced experts, who could have possibly imagined someone would use such an unbelievable method to infiltrate?

Their attention was focused on guarding against large Demon Beasts or human Martial Artists; they didn’t notice a few mosquitoes that were barely larger than specks of dust.

Soon, the thirty small mosquitoes flew deep into the valley and found the Azure Flame Flying Lion, which was on its last breath.

They didn’t suck any blood. They just carefully landed in the blood flowing from the lioness’s wounds, completely drenching their bodies, and then…

With a thought from Chu Sheng!

The thirty small mosquitoes, covered in the blood of an Eighth-Grade Demon Beast, were successfully recalled into his space!

Hiding behind the rock, Gu Yuexi watched this whole series of actions clearly through their Spiritual Link. She was completely dumbfounded.

“What… What is the meaning of this?” she asked blankly in her mind. “Are you stealing blood this way? The efficiency is way too low, isn’t it? You wouldn’t be able to steal much even if you did this for a year!”

Hearing the Empress’s naive thought, Chu Sheng almost buzzed with laughter.

“BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ! (Thinking too small, aren’t we? Who said anything about stealing?)”

He smugly sent a thought to Gu Yuexi.

“BUZZ! (You stay here and don’t move. I’ll be right back!)”

Before Gu Yuexi could react, Chu Sheng vibrated his wings, his body turning into a nearly invisible black shadow. He flew off silently, hugging the ground and heading in a direction away from the valley.

“Hey! You—”

Gu Yuexi was shocked. She was about to cry out and stop him but quickly clamped her hand over her mouth.

She watched helplessly as Chu Sheng’s figure disappeared into the dense forest, her heart leaping into her throat.

’It’s so dangerous!’

’You’re just a First-Grade Demon Beast! Flying around recklessly in the depths of the perilous Black Forest—isn’t that just asking for death?!’

’If you die, what will happen to me?!’

Gu Yuexi was both anxious and angry, but she didn’t dare make a rash move. She could only lie flat behind the rock, waiting anxiously, with absolutely no idea what Chu Sheng was up to!

Time ticked by, second by agonizing second.

An hour… two hours… five hours passed.

The sky gradually darkened, and the forest grew even more gloomy.

Inside the valley, the Azure Flame Flying Lion’s aura had weakened to an extreme, as if it could be extinguished at any moment.

“Get ready!”

Leng Yan, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly snapped them open and stood up.

“It’s about to die! Everyone, prepare to enter the valley!”

“Yes, sir!”

The members of the Shadow Fang Squad all rose to their feet, their eyes glinting with excitement and greed. Victory was at hand!

Seeing this, Gu Yuexi’s heart turned completely cold.

’Five hours, and that damn mosquito still isn’t back! It flew so far away that I can’t even sense its presence anymore!’

’What in the world is it doing?’

An uncontrollable, chilling thought popped into her head.

’This mosquito… it couldn’t have seen that things were going south and abandoned me to escape on its own, could it?’

’Is its loyalty really that low?’

’No… our relationship is just a forced bond built on the Blood Covenant. There’s no loyalty to speak of… ’

Gu Yuexi began to panic.

’I, the great Beast Taming Empress, have been reborn only to be abandoned by my very first Contracted Beast?!’

Just as her mind was in turmoil and she was on the verge of despair…

…a familiar black shadow silently landed back on her shoulder.

“BUZZ. (I’m back.)”

’It’s him!’

Gu Yuexi first breathed a sigh of relief, then a surge of nameless anger welled up. She questioned him in her mind, “Where in the world have you been? They’re about to go in!”

“BUZZ BUZZ. (Don’t worry. The show… is about to begin.)”

Chu Sheng sent her a mysterious thought.

Just then.

RUMBLE—!

The earth began to shake violently!

Immediately after, from all directions in the depths of the forest, powerful, frenzied, and bloodthirsty Demon Beast auras surged into the sky!

“ROAR—!”

“AWOO—!”

“HISS—!”

Outside the valley, it was as if the Gate of Hell had been thrown open.

The roars of countless Demon Beasts converged into a world-ending shockwave, shaking the entire mountain forest so intensely that pebbles and leaves rained down.

A beast tide!

A massive, unheralded beast tide erupted suddenly, like a bursting dam!

One after another, enormous Demon Beasts with blood-red eyes charged out of the dense woods from all sides as if they had gone mad.

Their target was perfectly clear: the valley shrouded in the thick scent of blood, and… the Shadow Fang Squad guarding its entrance!

Fourth-Grade Earth-Splitting Demon Rhinoceroses shattered boulders with their rampart-like heads!

Packs of Fifth-Grade Three-Eyed Demon Wolves kicked up a foul wind!

There were even several enormous Sixth-Grade Ghost-faced Demon Spiders, their eight-jointed limbs like reaping sickles, descending from the treetops!

Dozens, even hundreds, of Demon Beasts of Fourth-Grade or higher formed an unstoppable black torrent!

’Heh heh, come on, everyone, dinner is served!’

Perched on Gu Yuexi’s shoulder, Chu Sheng looked at his handiwork before him, feeling incredibly smug.
