Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 584: 584 Three-Foot Podium

Everyone cherishes this opportunity very much, so they are all very serious.

Jiang Xinyu sits above, seeing everything clearly. If these kids want to go further, they absolutely can. After all, their attitude towards learning is evident here.

After ten minutes, Jiang Xinyu stands up, ”Alright, time’s up. You all know how you did in your hearts. Now I’m going to correct your handwriting grip posture.”

Jiang Xinyu demonstrates to everyone, ”This habit must be formed. Although it might not be comfortable at first, you must change it. Our current living conditions don’t allow it, but once our lives improve, we’ll all need to be able to write.”

Everyone below spends another ten minutes adapting to this new posture. Of course, they also enhance their proficiency in writing fourteen characters.

”Alright, everyone, practice gradually; you’ll adapt quickly.

If anyone needs to use the restroom, you can go now; we have a ten-minute break.”

A few kids run out. The rest keep their heads down, practicing the characters.

Jiang Xinyu feels a surge of excitement in her heart; is this what it feels like to achieve something?

Once everyone returns, the ten minutes are up.

”Next, we’ll learn numbers — an essential part of daily life. The simplest example: how many pounds of grain have we harvested, and how much needs to be handed over? When buying things, we also need money, which requires math knowledge.

Next, I’ll write twenty numbers on the board, and you can start learning them; it’s very simple.”

After writing twenty numbers, Jiang Xinyu reads them aloud from start to finish, ”Of course, after twenty is twenty-one.” She writes it down, ”Then after thirty? It’s forty, forty-one.

Have you noticed the pattern? Actually, numbers are much easier than Chinese characters.”

Jiang Xinyu speaks the numbers while writing, continuing all the way to one hundred.

Seeing everyone following along, she gives them some time.

It is now twelve o’clock, ”Alright, that’s it for today. We’ll continue in the afternoon. Use the lunch break to practice counting from one to one hundred. You can go home and rest for a while.”

After Jiang Xinyu finishes speaking, only a few people leave. She doesn’t say much and goes home herself.

Despite having some time to sit during the three-hour morning session, she still feels very tired.

Upon returning home, she feels a bit out of energy. Wei Kaiyun is quite worried, ”Are you too tired, dear? Why don’t we wait until after the baby is born to continue?”

Shang Zhenkun is stunned for a moment; so Xiao Jiang is pregnant again.

Jiang Xinyu shakes her head, ”No need, I’ll get used to it in a few days.”

For lunch, there are steamed buns, well risen, looking especially fluffy.

After eating, Jiang Xinyu lies down on the kang. Wei Kaiyun initially wants to tell her the bean sprouts have sprouted, but seeing her so tired, he decides not to.

He feels a lot of sympathy for her; it would be easier if she weren’t pregnant. Given the current situation, prolonged standing is truly unsuitable.

However, for the sake of establishing herself in the village and gaining recognition, she endures this hardship.

Jiang Xinyu only naps for half an hour before getting up; actually, there’s ten more minutes. It’s one o’clock. After sitting up, she kisses Wei Kaiyun, puts on her coat, and leaves.

The afternoon class begins with reviewing the characters and numbers learned in the morning.

Then, she introduces five more characters. In the evening, there’s plenty of time for them to practice at home.

”Alright, that’s it for today, we’ll start at one thirty tomorrow noon. I need to nap at noon due to my health, so the morning schedule remains unchanged, and the afternoon class will be from one thirty to four thirty.

Once home, I find out the bean sprouts are ready, looking tender and white, making me really want to eat them.

So for dinner, it’s pancakes with stir-fried bean sprouts and meat.

”Mom, these bean sprouts are pretty tasty,” Jiang Shijing says with a smile.

”Good to hear. Once we have fish, we’ll make boiled fish with bean sprouts; it’s quite delicious.”

”Mom, can we have bean sprouts for lunch tomorrow too?”

”No problem, I’ll start another batch tonight.”

”Mom, aren’t you working too hard?”

Jiang Xinyu pats her son’s head comfortingly, ”It’s fine, your dad is here. These bean sprouts sprouted because of his efforts.”

Wei Kaiyun smiles on the side. He doesn’t have much to do, just spending each day on the kang, sprouting bean sprouts to pass the time.

After washing up, Jiang Xinyu lies on the kang and falls asleep within ten minutes, even faster than Feifei.

”Your mom is very tired.”

Wei Kaiyun feels very sorry for his wife.

Feifei lies beside him, ”Dad, you should help mom rub her legs, she stands all day, her legs must be sore.”

”Alright, I’ll help your mom rub her legs. You go to sleep first.”

In the morning, Jiang Xinyu gets up and still moves around in the yard, although she dares not exert too much; she opts for slow walking.

After breakfast, she swiftly directs Sister-in-law Liu to sprout bean sprouts — this time, ten pounds of green beans and placed them in three basins.

Once the timing is right, she heads to the classroom.

Upon arrival, she counts — there are fifty-three people present, everyone is here. Despite the number, no one speaks; they all focus on the characters on the board, hands continuously writing.

”Is there anyone who still can’t recite or write from one to a hundred? Please raise your hand; it’s okay; the teacher won’t blame you.”

No one indeed struggles with it.

”Since that’s the case, today we’ll learn addition and subtraction, widely used in daily life.

The simplest example: if this month we gather ten eggs and the family eats three, how many are left?

Yes, there are seven left. How did we get seven? Of course, ten minus three equals seven.”

Today we’ll learn this. Everyone must listen carefully, as this concerns whether you’ll be deceived when you go out.”

Jiang Xinyu elaborates with examples, initially focusing on addition and subtraction within ten.

Then she begins calling on individuals, giving them problems to solve as they rise to answer.

With about an hour remaining for the morning, she teaches ten commonly-used characters.

As she leaves, most people remain, but she must return home, feeling genuinely hungry.

Heavy departure sounds return to the classroom after Jiang Xinyu leaves.

Everyone tests each other, whether with math problems or characters.

If Jiang Xinyu saw this scene, she’d surely feel gratified, feeling happy despite the fatigue.
