Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 583: 583 Three-Foot Podium

After the nap, the three children focused their minds and listened attentively to Master Shang’s lecture, occasionally asking questions, which Master Shang answered with great patience.

Jiang Xinyu sat with Wei Kaiyun on the bed, and the two read a book together.

At this moment, they both felt that life was peaceful and quiet, the kind of days they both cherished.

”Honey, if you’re tired after teaching tomorrow, just sit down.”

”I know, I won’t joke about my health. Besides, I’m very much concerned about the baby in my belly.”

”I really hope this child is a beautiful girl like Feifei.”

”I don’t mind, boy or girl, they are my treasures.”

Wei Kaiyun put his ear to his wife’s belly but couldn’t hear anything.

”By the time she’s born, it’ll be summer, so my wife won’t have to suffer; it’s too cold here.”

”Summer can be uncomfortable too; luckily it’ll just be early summer, otherwise it’d be even more uncomfortable.”

”Yes, even with a fan, you can’t use it here, there’s no electricity.” Wei Kaiyun sighed.

”Stop worrying so much, you’ll get used to it. We got by just fine without fans before, right?”

The couple chatted about daily life, and Wei Kaiyun particularly enjoyed this feeling.

In the evening, when it was time to cook, Jiang Xinyu finally got out of bed. Mainly because Wei Kaiyun wouldn’t let go; sitting alone on the bed feels uncomfortable. If his legs were nimble, he could circle around his wife, but to recover quickly, he had to be careful.

In the evening, Wei Kaiyun attempted some mischief, but Jiang Xinyu firmly rejected it. Firstly, his health hasn’t fully recovered. Secondly, with Feifei sleeping with them, the child has grown, and unlike others, Feifei wouldn’t dare to engage in such activities.

”Honey, I’m going to burst.”

”Quickly, go to sleep.”

”How can I sleep? They say when you’re full and warm, you think of lust. I’m exactly like that.”

”Stay quiet.” Jiang Xinyu turned away, but there was a smile on her lips.

Early the next morning, Jiang Xinyu got up to join the children in exercising outside. After breakfast at eight, Sister-in-law Liu accompanied them to the village classroom.

By this time, there were already people there, and Jiang Xinyu felt warm as she entered.

This is the parents’ hopes for their children. As long as they have the ability, they will give their children the best. This is the love of parents everywhere.

The children looked at Jiang Xinyu curiously, but no one dared to greet her.

Looking at these simple kids, Jiang Xinyu felt glad; they are raw stones needing her effort to sculpt. Her hope is to make them successful and, with her humble strength, help them change their fate.

Being able to be their guide is her pride.

By eight forty, the classroom was full. They all brought their small stools, with the smaller kids sitting in the front and the taller automatically sitting at the back.

Jiang Xinyu felt even more satisfied; in life, integrity is the key.

At nine, Jiang Xinyu stood up, ”Hello everyone, I am Jiang Xinyu. It’s indeed an honor to stand here.

Just like you, I’m an ordinary person, maybe I’ve just learned a bit more. As the old saying goes ’Wen Wu First’, although I can teach you now, there are so many things I don’t know. So, let’s learn together.”

Looking at the excited smiles on each face below, Jiang Xinyu felt equally happy, never expecting to stand on a teaching platform.

”Our teaching here is different from school; my focus is on practical things. Of course, anyone wanting to go to school, if there’s a group of ten or more, I will teach separately.

There’s no rush to decide; you can study for a while, then according to your situation, and also consider your family’s actual situation before deciding.

Alright, let’s begin with recognizing characters.

Let me ask, is there anyone here who isn’t surnamed Li? If so, please raise your hand.”

Indeed, there were fifteen or sixteen.

”Those who aren’t surnamed Li, please stand up and tell us your surname.”

The first to stand was a little boy, ”Teacher, my surname is Zhang, my name is Zhang Yunlei.”

”Great, good name. So, I’ll write the character ’Zhang’, everyone pay attention to my stroke order, I’ll break it down stroke by stroke, making it clearer.”

She wrote the character ’Zhang’ on the board, and everyone below followed along.

”Actually, the character ’Zhang’ can be divided into two words. The left side is pronounced ’Gong’, as in bow and arrow, and the right side is pronounced ’Chang’, as in length, also pronounced ’Chang’, meaning mature.”

This way, they learned three words, and everyone quickly grasped them.

”So sometimes, those surnamed ’Zhang’ might say, I am ’Zhang’, ’Gong Chang Zhang’. And there are those surnamed ’Zhang’ as well.”

Jiang Xinyu similarly wrote the character ’Zhang’ on the board.

”This character ’Zhang’, is like Chapters in literature, like articles or newspaper reports, it’s the combination of these words into compositions.

The character ’Zhang’ is also composed of two characters, in an upper-lower structure. The upper character is ’Li’, as in stand firm, and the lower is pronounced ’Zao’, as in morning.

The character ’Zao’ also consists of two characters, in an upper-lower structure. The upper character is pronounced ’Ri’, as in day, and the lower is pronounced ’Shi’, as in tens, hundreds, thousands.”

The learners below absorbed quickly. Now it’s already eight words, as they watched Jiang Xinyu write the characters one by one on the board. Then they practiced writing on their sand tables.

Jiang Xinyu gave them ten minutes, observing they were almost ready, she proceeded.

”Teacher, my surname is Hu, my name is Hu Lili.” A girl stood up.

”Thank you, please sit. The character ’Hu’ is a left-right structure, just like ’Zhang’, it is also composed of two characters. The left is pronounced ’Gu’, as in ancient, and the right is pronounced ’Yue’, as in moon, or month.”

Now they’ve learned three more words, adding to six characters altogether.

All the different surnames were written on the board.

”Next, let’s study the character ’Li’, this is an upper-lower structure. The upper is pronounced ’Mu’, as in wood, and the lower is pronounced ’Zi’, as in child. So if anyone asks your surname, you can say, I am ’Li’, ’Mu Zi Li’.”

With these fifteen characters, Jiang Xinyu took an hour to explain. Then she gave them ten minutes to practice, and those who struggled could copy from the board.

In fact, she considered starting with brush strokes, but that pace was too slow. Many people simply didn’t want to be illiterate, wishing to recognize characters. If some want to continue studying outside, she can teach systematically.
