Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 558: 558 trivial matters

Jiang Xinyu returned home, put down her things, and hurried to light the fire.

Although these bedding items aren’t dirty, they won’t be used anymore. It’s better to wash them clean and store them, leaving them at home.

The home keys are still left with Wang Ailing, so she can come over to check after it rains or snows.

The big pot was boiling water, and the stove was lit. Only then did she go down to the cellar. There were just some cabbages, radishes, and potatoes left. There was also chili sauce, canned food, which were all collected and stored.

The most important were those two jars of nu’er hong, along with a jar of good wine previously given by Lv Beiguang, and more than twenty bottled ones, which were also stored away.

The grains at home were not prepared to be taken away, all left for Wang Ailing. Once the water boiled, she hurriedly washed the bed sheets and covers.

She heard a knock at the door, guessing it must be Lv Beiguang.

”I thought it was you. Why just one bag?”

”Everything is in here, nothing special to take for them.”

”Hmm, I’ll take care of the two of them once I get there.”

”Is the water poured?”

”Alright, it’s quite a bit of work for me to carry it. By the way, you haven’t eaten yet, have you? Anything you want to eat?”

”I can eat anything.” Lv Beiguang had never been picky about food.

In the end, Jiang Xinyu still made noodles, but it was sliced meat noodles with eggs.

”I’ll be at ease with the children living by your side. Even if it’s just for a month to improve their lives, that’s fine.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll take a look at the situation when I get there. If possible, we can go to them, or let them come to us.

But if it doesn’t work out, we can just visit each other often.”

”You decide.” Lv Beiguang really had no objections; Jiang Xinyu was absolutely much stronger in handling matters than himself.

”When are you leaving, I’ll see you off.”

”No need, Qian Jun will drive me to send off my luggage, so you don’t have to worry.”

After sending off Lv Beiguang, she finally lay down comfortably, preparing to sleep.

The next day, she steamed bread again. This time the quantity was enough; she would steam a pot at night and keep it to take back to the village.

She went straight to Yao Shimin’s office. ”I made bread, and I’ll send some over to you and Jingyi later.”

”Hmm, that sounds great. By the way, I was about to come find you too; Jingyi wants you to come over for dinner tonight.”

”Sure, I’ll go home once after work.”

The finance department’s work was fully handed over this morning, with Liang Xiaoguang and Wang Jianshu asking a lot of questions.

”My advice to both of you is to keep the accounts clear.

You’ve seen it; there can’t be problems in this area in the future.”

The two understood the seriousness of the matter.

At noon, Jiang Xinyu chatted leisurely in Pan Xiulan’s office.

In the afternoon, it was the security department, which was relatively simple. Pan Yuanliang introduced the tasks, and Liang Xiaoguang was already clear about the processes. Everything was handed over clearly before three o’clock.

Jiang Xinyu stood up with a smile, ”Then I will leave, and when I come back I’ll see you all again.”

Liang Xiaoguang smiled sincerely, ”Welcome back, Vice Factory Director Jiang.”

Pan Yuanliang truly admired Jiang Xinyu. Over the years, this young woman was meticulous and particularly comprehensive, so he sincerely wished her a safe journey.

Jiang Xinyu went to Qian Jun’s office, ”I’ve completed all the work handover here.”

”Have a safe journey, Jiang Xinyu. Be safe.”

”Thank you.”

Pushing her bicycle along the path of the textile factory, she could recall every detail when she first came there.

She felt a sense of reluctance. This place nurtured and developed her; how could she not have feelings for it?

Suddenly, she remembered there would be a major earthquake nine years later; this was something she truly couldn’t ignore. If she had the ability, she hoped the workers would suffer fewer casualties.

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, come back often in the future.”

”Thank you, Xiao Liu. Remember to work diligently.”

”Don’t worry, Vice Factory Director Jiang. I definitely won’t let any strangers in.”

Exiting the factory gate, she got on her bike to go home. She’d gone back and forth on this road many times. After this, she probably wouldn’t head in this direction as much.

After returning home, she quickly lit the stove and then ate two kiwis. They were the best fruits for supplementing vitamin C, and the fruits she’d stored in Hai City were definitely enough for herself and the two kids.

Then she took the bread for She Xiaoyun and the others, each having a cloth bag. She packed them into two baskets.

Upon arriving at the supply and marketing cooperative, she left the bread directly with She Xiaoyun.

”Sister She, call them to pick it up after work. I need to go check on train tickets at the station.”

”Alright, once the time is confirmed, I’ll see you off.”

”No need, there are too many things, Qian Jun will take me.”

”Still, I’ll come to see you off.” Over these years, this girl had truly found a place in She Xiaoyun’s heart, and was undoubtedly a friend worth having.

”Sister She, I’ll come back. Besides, it might be very late at night, and it wouldn’t be safe to go out. Just wait for my message at home.”

”Okay, I’ll wait for your message.

By the way, there’s new milk powder and malted milk essence. Have a look, I’ll make the call for them.”

Jiang Xinyu went to the counter, directly buying four bags of milk powder and two bags of malted milk essence.

She didn’t go to find Zhang Songpo, she just inquired about which train was going to the Northeast and what time the train would be.

Since it was a long trip, there should be sleeper tickets available.

After checking, she found only the train at 1:30 the morning after next was available.

This was acceptable. After finding out the train and time, she went to find Station Chief Zhang.

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, what brings you here?”

”Station Chief Zhang, just call me Jiang Xinyu. I’ve resigned and plan to go to the Northeast to be with my kids. I came here today to ask a favor from you.”

”Ah! It’s a pity, but I also knew that no matter where you go, Jiang Xinyu, you’ll shine and be enthusiastic.”

”Thank you for thinking so highly of me, Station Chief Zhang.”

”I’ll take you to get a sleeper ticket in a bit.” Zhang Songpo knew why Jiang Xinyu was seeking him.

”Station Chief Zhang, it’s mainly that I have too much stuff. Could you find a way to store it separately for me? Of course, I’ll buy tickets for two extra people.”

”That can be done, and you don’t need to buy extra tickets. Just place them next to the cockpit. The driver is my niece’s husband, all family, easy to talk to.”

”Thank you so much, Station Chief Zhang.”

Jiang Xinyu took the sleeper ticket and went straight home. Once there, she added more coal, finding the house already warm. Had she not been going to Yao Shimin’s house later, she would have steamed some bread.

Throughout the years, the Wang Family had been really kind to her, often bringing grains and vegetables to her. She was aware of this, and with her leaving, the family would still need to be entrusted to their care.

At six o’clock, she prepared twenty buns and rode her bike to Yao Shimin’s home.
