Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Shall We Start Over? [4]

Ariel Morris’s hands trembled uncontrollably as she held Arlo Seys’ face, pale as paper, and tears streamed down once more.

”Arlo---what’s wrong? Arlo Seys----you must be okay, don’t sleep, let’s talk, shall we? Talk to me, in these eight years, I have so much to say to you...”

Her tears flowed so fiercely, drop after drop, without stopping. Arlo Seys struggled to keep his eyes open, his lips curved into a weak smile as he looked at her and replied, ”Okay---you talk, I won’t sleep, I’m listening----”

Ariel Morris nodded joyfully, ”I’ll talk, Arlo---listen, after we broke up, I went to Dublin alone. Do you know Dublin? It’s a very beautiful place, which I really liked. I want to go to Dublin with you, to have a real Christmas carnival there----Arlo, how about that? You’ll definitely like it.”

Arlo Seys smiled faintly, his eyelids growing heavier, but still lightly responded, ”Okay, I’ll go with you.”

Ariel Morris nodded eagerly, afraid he’d fall asleep, and continued intermittently, ”Do you remember the succulent you gave me? I took it to Dublin and tended to it more carefully than I did to myself. It grew better and better, and I even brought it back to the country. Arlo Seys, did you hear that? Over these eight years, each time I looked at that pot of succulent, I’d think of you.”

”I miss you so much, Arlo----I’m so afraid you’d forget me, the hardest thing over these eight years is, in the long nights, recalling the paths we walked together, the happy laughs, the trouble we caused, they’re my most beautiful, beautiful memories. Yet it’s also the hardest thing over these eight years, only being able to rely on memories to recall our past, to remember your face, I really want to return to City C...”

”Arlo, forgive me for quietly leaving the country back then, can we start over?”

”Arlo----Arlo Seys---my dearest Arlo, hang on! Nico Haynes and Brother Dawn are coming soon, hang in there!”

”Arlo Seys, don’t sleep, don’t----”

As Ariel Morris spoke, she watched Arlo Seys slowly close his eyes, and embracing his body, she cried uncontrollably.

Arlo Seys’s eyes shut completely, and Ariel Morris bit her pale lips and wailed loudly.

”If I had known my return would bring you such pain, I would rather have stayed alone in Dublin for a lifetime. Arlo---why are you always so foolish!”

”Didn’t you hate me? Why did you still risk your health to find me? Arlo Seys, you can’t leave me alone!”

No matter how Ariel Morris cried, how she called out, Arlo Seys kept his eyes tightly shut, without any response.

Ariel Morris hugged his body, holding him tightly, then leaned back against a large rock and slowly closed her eyes too, drifting into darkness...

----

When Ariel Morris awoke, the first thing she saw was the gentle smiling face of Dawn Sutherland.

She rubbed her drowsy head, slowly propped herself up to sit, and looked around at her surroundings, which seemed to be a hospital room.

”You’re awake?” Dawn Sutherland smiled at her, ”You were unconscious for a whole day and night, quite a while.”

”Brother Dawn, did you rescue me?” Ariel Morris asked, rubbing her temples.

Dawn Sutherland smiled faintly, ”It was Uncle Seys who deployed two teams of rescue personnel for us, that’s how we were able to find you.”

This incident alerted the elders of the Seys Family? Ariel Morris was a bit surprised. But then she thought, since Arlo Seys was the only eldest grandson of the Seys Family, and Arlo Seys went missing in the deep mountains searching for her, the Seys Family couldn’t possibly not rescue him.

Thinking of Arlo Seys, Ariel Morris pressed her lips together, ”Brother Dawn, is Arlo okay? Before he fainted, he looked very pale, and his body was cold. Where---where is he? Can I see him?”
