Chapter 207: Chapter 207 My Brother Did Not Die in an Accident

Nicole gently raised her gaze, her eyes already gathering a mist, as she looked at her cousin with a trembling voice, ”Do you remember what I said the day I returned to the Seys Family? I said—I said my brother died in an accident.”

Arlo Seys appeared grave, softly responding with a hum.

Nicole shook her head slightly, her thoughts restless, feeling almost too distressed to speak. The room fell silent, Arlo patiently waiting for her to regain her composure, not interrupting.

After two minutes, Nicole finally spoke with a sob, ”My brother didn’t die accidentally, he was shot—”

After dinner, the driver from the old Seys Family mansion came to pick up Nicole.

Arlo escorted her to the gate.

As she approached the car, Nicole smiled faintly and said to the person beside her, ”Brother, I’m going home. Miss Morris is great, she’s a good match for you, treasure her.”

Arlo replied softly with a hum, Nicole smiled at him and opened the back door of the car.

”Wait.”

Nicole paused her movement, turning to look at him, ”Brother, what’s wrong?”

Arlo pressed his thin lips together, speaking gently, his tone soft, ”Forget the past, start anew. From now on, bid farewell to the past when you were called Nicole, now you’re just Nicole, the second young lady of the Seys Family.”

Nicole gave a knowing smile, touched, and nodded, ”Alright, from now on I’m only Nicole, I will start anew, a rebirth after the disaster.” As if she remembered something, Nicole looked at Arlo, speaking softly, ”Brother, I heard from Aunt that she once introduced a hypnotist to you, could you introduce me?”

If I am to start anew, then I must forget everything from the past.

Arlo’s body suddenly stiffened, his deep gaze directed towards Nicole’s smiling face, ”You want to use hypnosis to forget everything from the past?”

Nicole nodded, her eyes full of determination, ”Brother, introduce them to me, will you?”

”Forcing yourself to forget everything through hypnosis could cause immense harm to yourself, I do not advise you to do it.”

”It’s okay, Brother, I can handle it.”

The death of her mother, the death of her brother, when she herself stabbed Jose Floyd with the knife, every single event in the past was filled with despair and gut-wrenching pain. She endured them all, and she thinks she can withstand the harm that hypnosis might bring.

Even if she actually dies, she has nothing to be afraid of; when one is indifferent to life and death, what else is there to fear?

”I don’t agree! Besides, hypnosis doesn’t necessarily erase the past!” Isn’t he himself a failed example of it?

Eight years ago, when Ariel Morris left, he lived in desolation, and his family, in a bid to help him forget that emotional wound, invited a hypnosis maestro from abroad, hoping to make him forget the past and regain his strength.

Unfortunately, it failed, and he almost lost his life because of it. Therefore, Nicole wants to try; he won’t consent.

His uncle has just one daughter, and he has only this one cousin; he will never agree to let her do anything even slightly risky!

As if understanding his concerns and worries, Nicole looked at him, speaking calmly and gracefully, ”Brother, the reason your hypnosis failed was because your attachment was too deep, you resisted forgetting that relationship. But I’m different, Brother, I want to forget it myself, so the success rate of hypnosis is much higher.”

Arlo remained silent, still disagreeing with Nicole about using hypnosis to erase the memories of the past five years.

Seeing his non-response, Nicole spoke once more to persuade him, ”Brother, even if you don’t tell me, I can still get the hypnotist’s contact from Aunt. But this would just make the Seys Family worry, and I don’t want everyone to know about this; if they did, they would only be concerned, so why let it happen?”
