Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 226: Chapter 226 The Person Who Should Have Come Didn’t

Seeing a group of people approaching, Callan Walkers displayed the demeanor appropriate for a special assistant to the president of a large company like Era, gracefully and politely stepping forward with a smile, saying, ”Director, President Seys and Movie King Seal are already inside, please, everyone.”

”Thank you, Special Assistant Walkers.” The director smiled amiably and cordially.

Anyone who knows Arlo Seys would undoubtedly know Callan Walkers, the competent assistant and right-hand man of Arlo Seys.

Some people, unable to curry favor with Arlo Seys, would try to get on Callan Walkers’ good side, simply because Callan is the only person who can speak up in professional matters around Arlo Seys.

Callan led the director, the associate director, and the screenwriter to Arlo Seys and Langdon Seal’s private room, while Brother Holland took the driver and the clapperboard operator to another room.

As the director and several others entered, they saw Arlo Seys, the president of Era, and Langdon Seal, Movie King Seal, sitting by the table. Both had indifferent expressions, looking aloof, and the atmosphere in the private room was somewhat peculiar.

”President Seys, Movie King Seal.” The director and the others greeted them with smiles.

”Director Walters, Associate Director Morales, Screenwriter Chase.” Langdon Seal greeted them nonchalantly.

Not seeing Ariel among them, he glanced at Arlo Seys, giving a profound smile.

He thought to himself, Arlo Seys’s dinner with intentions beyond the food truly fell short; the desired invitee was absent. Langdon Seal smiled deeply and raised his glass to take a gentle sip.

Arlo Seys glanced at the group, not seeing that figure, his eyes turned a bit dim, and he merely responded with a cold ”hmm”.

Callan invited everyone to take their seats, and soon the tables were filled with dishes.

Langdon Seal and the director’s group were engrossed in lively conversation, while Arlo Seys spent the entire time drinking, barely touching the food.

As a special assistant, Callan, seeing his boss’s face full of discontent, understood clearly, and asked the director’s group in surprise, ”Where is Miss Johnson, the leading actress in this film?” Miss Morris is the assistant of Miss Johnson, and if he had directly named a small assistant, it would have seemed abrupt, so Callan shifted his approach to inquire about Valeria Johnson.

The director took a sip of wine and replied with a smile, ”Valeria said she’s a little tired today, probably from the exhausting filming, so she went back to rest first. She also mentioned she would call President Seys to request a leave.”

Arlo Seys, feeling a slight headache from drinking, rubbed his temples and replied indifferently, ”Whether she comes or not has nothing to do with me.” He organized this dinner purely to see one particular person, but that person was absent!

Thinking of this made Arlo Seys somewhat uncomfortable; he drank a few more sips of sullen wine, his face cold and disinterested.

He hadn’t returned to his villa in Royal View City for three days, and she hadn’t even made a single phone call to check on him. Today, under the guise of inviting the entire crew for dinner, he simply wanted to see that person, but it turned out she skipped the dinner!

Ariel Morris, are you intentionally avoiding me? Arlo Seys’s eyes grew even dimmer, his heart feeling out of sorts.

The director’s group noticed that the host of today’s dinner, President Seys, didn’t look very pleased, but they didn’t dare to ask, choosing instead to maintain a smiling demeanor as they chatted and laughed nearby.

”Luckily, we finished shooting earlier today and came back sooner. It rained heavily at Elephant Hill. If we had been any later, we would have been drenched like wet chickens.” Screenwriter Chase teased Langdon Seal, ”You’re lucky, Movie King Seal, you didn’t have any scenes today. The rain over there was too heavy, and we had to hike up the mountain. Our director is truly dedicated and diligent, insisting on shooting at Elephant Hill. Red Fragrance Hill would have been better, as it’s closer and less steep. Unlike Elephant Hill, with all its ravines and uneven terrain, speaking of which, Miss Johnson is really dedicated, even climbing the mountain in high heels, and she didn’t complain at all.”

Arlo Seys’s hand paused, raising the glass. High heels... Ariel Morris was also wearing high heels. In Royal View City, he had never seen her out wearing flats, except for a pair of house slippers!

Today, following the crew up the mountain, was she also foolish enough to wear high heels? Arlo Seys snorted coldly in his heart, yet felt a bit uneasy, wondering whether she twisted her ankle on such difficult terrain?.....
