Chapter 227: Chapter 227: What did you say about Ariel Morris?

Screenwriter Chase had just finished speaking when Associate Director Morales suddenly exclaimed, ”Speaking of Valeria Johnson, I suddenly remembered her assistant. What’s her last name again?”

Screenwriter Chase chimed in, ”Assistant Morris?”

Associate Director Morales slapped the table, ”Ah right! That’s her. Did you see her when we came back today?”

Both Arlo Seys and Langdon Seal turned their gaze towards Associate Director Morales.

Arlo Seys suddenly slammed his wine glass down on the table, the sound of a loud crack echoing, his eyes cold, ”Say it again! What did you say about Ariel Morris?”

Associate Director Morales was stunned by his cold demeanor and stammered, ”I mean—I mean when we went, she and Valeria Johnson were with us in the same car, and when we came back, just now, just now when Old Chase mentioned Valeria Johnson, I suddenly realized that on the return trip, Assistant Morris didn’t seem to be in the same car with us...”

Screenwriter Chase, who was mentioned, widened his eyes, ”Oh my God, she really didn’t come back with us, did she take another car? Didn’t we have five cars going?”

At this moment, Langdon Seal’s manager, Brother Holland, who had just arranged the record keeper and other staff, walked into their private room.

As soon as Langdon saw him, he immediately asked, ”Did you see if Ariel was among the crew?”

Brother Holland looked puzzled, ”What’s wrong? I didn’t see her.”

”Go to the next room immediately and ask the staff, who saw Ariel? Ask which crew driver’s car she took!” Langdon ordered sternly.

Brother Holland also sensed the uneasiness in everyone’s expression in the room and quickly turned around to go inquire.

Arlo Seys slammed his chopsticks onto the table, his cold gaze directed at the director, quickly pulling out his phone to call Ariel Morris’s number.

”Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable. Please...”

Three attempts resulted in the same automated busy signal reply. Arlo Seys’s heart sank heavily, and he tried dialing the landline at the Royal View City villa.

Still, there was no answer on the other end, and Arlo Seys’s expression became extremely solemn. He looked at the director and the others, his eyes full of icy disdain, ”A crew member didn’t come back with you, and none of you noticed? What were you all doing?”

The director was frightened by his glare and became apprehensive, especially remembering the heavy rain at Elephant Hill and fearing that something might have happened to Ariel Morris, who was a crew member. Upon seeing Arlo Seys’s intense reaction, he became more certain that this Assistant Morris had an unusual relationship with President Seys at Era! Damn it! Misleading rumors! Who was the fool that spread the word that Valeria Johnson would be the future boss lady of Era! It screwed him over!

If Assistant Morris was going to be the future president’s wife at Era, and she was indeed left behind at Elephant Hill and something happened to her...

Thinking of this, the director felt a chill all over, bearing immense pressure as he looked at President Seys’s icy glare that seemed ready to tear him apart, and hastily said, ”I’ll call Valeria Johnson and ask if she knows Assistant Morris’s whereabouts!”

The director called Valeria Johnson, inquiring about Ariel Morris’s whereabouts. Valeria Johnson said she hadn’t noticed and wasn’t sure if she came back to City C with them or not. The director felt a wave of frustration, seeing the icy aura on Arlo Seys’s face, almost on the verge of tears while apologizing.

At this point, Brother Holland returned to the private room and quickly addressed the group, ”I asked all the drivers in the crew, and none of them had Assistant Morris in their car! She might have been left behind at Elephant Hill!”

Screenwriter Chase gasped, ”With the heavy rain at Elephant Hill, the uneven terrain, prone to landslides, if Assistant Morris is still there...”

”If Ariel Morris has any accident, I’ll remember this debt from your crew! I guarantee no one in City C or the entire industry will dare to use you directors or screenwriters!!” Arlo Seys, in great fury, declared this and immediately rushed out of Lushwoods Inn with his phone.
