Chapter 220: Chapter 220: City C’s No. 1 Socialite Daisy Grant Returns

-

Arlo Seys left the villa in Royal View City. Since he had been drinking, he didn’t drive and walked in the rain instead.

He thought he needed to calm down, and the cold rain was indeed helping with that.

Arlo Seys walked in the heavy rain for more than two hours. By the time he reached Nico Haynes’ villa, it was already past one in the middle of the night.

He stood at the door and rang the bell, waiting for a few minutes before someone finally opened the door.

The door opened, and Nico Haynes appeared, rubbing his bleary eyes. When he saw who was at the door, half of his drowsiness vanished, and he exclaimed, ”Boss Seys? What happened to you to be drenched like this?!”

Arlo Seys, with a frosty expression, directly pushed past him and walked into the house.

”...”

Nico Haynes shrugged and closed the door with a dumbfounded look.

Arlo Seys, familiar with the place, went upstairs to take a clean robe from Nico Haynes’ wardrobe and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

When he finished his shower, changed clothes, and went downstairs, he saw that besides Nico Haynes, Dawn Sutherland was also sitting on the sofa in the living room.

Upon seeing him come down, Dawn Sutherland’s eyes immediately fell on his expressionless face, and he sighed softly in his heart.

Arlo Seys moved to the sofa and sat down with a somewhat low voice, ”Dawn, why are you here so late as well?”

Among the three of them, he and Nico Haynes each had their own villas. But Dawn Sutherland, due to having an older half-brother, Aidan Sutherland, hanging over him, had no status in the Sutherland Family. As Nico Haynes would put it, Dawn Sutherland was the free labor for the Sutherland Family, while Aidan Sutherland was the crown prince who sat back and enjoyed the gains. As an illegitimate child, Dawn was constantly exploited by the Sutherland Family and not allowed to move out.

As kids, the three of them always met at the old house of the Seys Family. Later, after starting his own business, Arlo Seys acquired his own private villa, and their private gatherings were set in Royal View City.

But now, with Ariel Morris living in Royal View City, Arlo Seys could only come to Nico Haynes’ villa to have a heart-to-heart with his good brother.

Before Dawn could reply, Nico Haynes chimed in with a mischievous grin, ”I couldn’t sleep, so if Second Young Master Sutherland could, it would be unbalanced! While Boss Seys was showering, I gave him a call, told him you were here with me and that you were not in a good mood.”

Arlo Seys’ lips pressed into a line as he looked at Dawn, ”Dawn, you raced here.”

It was not a question but a statement.

Nico Haynes’ private villa was at least a half-hour drive from the Sutherland house, and Arlo Seys showered and changed in just about ten minutes. So, Dawn must have raced there through the rain.

Dawn Sutherland smiled faintly, ”When the Third Young Master called me, I happened to be awake, so I just drove over to sit for a bit.”

Watching his two good brothers, Arlo Seys felt a warm current slowly flow through him. Dawn spoke lightly, but in the midst of such a rainy night, one phone call had him racing over as fast as he could. The bond the three of them shared would last a lifetime, immovable.

”So late and not sleeping, what were you up to? Second Brother, hosting a hidden beauty, embracing softness? Finding it hard to sleep on such a spring night?” Nico Haynes teased with a sly grin.

Dawn Sutherland glanced at him blandly, ”All you think about is lewd stuff! Daisy Grant returned to the country today, so I drove to the airport to pick her up at around ten at night, which is why I haven’t slept yet.”

Nico Haynes was surprised, ”Beauty Grant came back? What about Aidan Sutherland? Did they come back together?”

Daisy Grant and the Sutherland Family’s eldest son, Aidan Sutherland, had been engaged since they were young. The two went abroad for studies after graduating high school and had only returned now.

Dawn Sutherland’s voice remained calm, ”He didn’t come back. She said she’d be back in a while; Daisy came back alone.”

Nico Haynes made a sound, ”So in four years abroad, did Beauty Grant become prettier or uglier? She’s the top socialite in City C! Hopefully, she wasn’t inspired by foreign trends to become a wild and daring woman!”
