Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

The wolf king thought to launch a sneak attack. But before it could even close the gap, its bones shattered mid-pounce. Blood sprayed into the sky like crimson mist, its body crumpling under the weight of the Bloodforce Pagoda.

Three beast kings slain in the span of moments. All of them killed in one blow, their bodies destroyed, accompanied by a torrential downpour of blood.

And Lu Yuan stood calmly at the center of the storm, untouched by a single drop. Amidst the blood rain, his figure stood still. Neither the word ”god” nor ”demon” could fully define him. Calling him invincible would still fall short as well.

”Four beast kings gone? Just like that?”

”Too astonishing... How strong is this man?”

”It hasn’t even been long since the battle began. Does that mean he could really slay all eight beast kings alone?”

In the temporary command post within Chang’an, every figure stood frozen, their scalps tingling and minds blank with shock.

Since when... since when had humanity birthed such a monstrous existence? Beyond the awe and disbelief, another emotion surged in their hearts—elation.

Before this, everyone had mentally prepared to perish, believing that they had to pay a huge price to repel the beast tide.

But now?

Before the battle could even begin in earnest, a single man had shifted the tides.

That was four beast kings in question. If any one of them had to face those four alone, death was inevitable.

And yet, that man had cleaved through them like weeds.

Now, only one question remained. Could that man slay the strongest among them, the White King?

According to their intel, that beast king had shattered ten genetic shackles.

In the heart of the battlefield, as the White King watched the scene unfold, its massive frame trembled uncontrollably. Never in its wildest thoughts had it imagined that a mere human could unleash such terrifying might. However, it wasn’t ready to give up.

With a roar, it rallied the remaining three beast kings. Under its command, they lunged together in a coordinated strike.

Rumble—

The White King’s frame was as massive as a mountain. It thundered forward, and every step made the ground quake. Yet despite its immense size, it moved with unsettling agility. Its pillar-like tail swept across the battlefield toward Lu Yuan.

At the same time, the other three, led by the Long-Armed Ape King, launched their assault.

But Lu Yuan showed no fear. His five viscera and six organs roared in unison, and his aura climbed once more. He planted his feet firmly into the earth. Divine light surged in his eyes, as if stars were burning behind them.

With a fist clenched, he met the White King’s tail head-on. With a deafening boom, the tail that could crush a small mountain was forcefully knocked aside.

Its scales, which were tougher than refined alloy, shattered on impact. Flesh burst open. Blood sprayed. White bone was laid bare.

As for the other three beast kings, Lu Yuan raised his palm, summoning the Jade Emperor’s Divine Thunder Art.

Rumble!

Thunder roared. Lightning danced across Lu Yuan’s fingertips, as though heavenly punishment had taken form in his grasp.

Bzzt—

The three beast kings had no chance to dodge. Bolts of divine thunder crashed down upon them like a celestial storm. The lightning coursed through their bodies, devouring flesh and bone alike.

Within moments, two of the beast kings lay dead. The last staggered for a breath or two before collapsing. Its body was charred black and the stench of scorched meat filled the air.

A low growl echoed.

Upon seeing the sight, for the first time ever, true fear flickered in the White King’s eyes. It finally saw the true extent of Lu Yuan’s strength.

Knowing it could not afford hesitation, the White King opened its maw and summoned its strongest technique.

In the next instant, a radiant silver beam exploded from its throat. It was dazzling and buzzed with a terrifying power as it surged toward Lu Yuan.

An eruption followed. Dust surged skyward in a towering plume. It looked like a missile strike had just hit the battlefield. The overwhelming power caused even distant beasts to retreat in fear as they trembled uncontrollably.

As the strongest beast king, its strength was indeed terrifying, and even stronger than the Golden-Winged Great Peng.

However, Lu Yuan met the beam of light head-on. He channeled the might of the Bloodforce Pagoda into his arm. He tore through the silver brilliance with bare hands. His silhouette blurred, and in the blink of an eye, he stood before the White King once more.

Then, he swung his fist again.

In truth, compared to the White King’s towering, mountain-like form, Lu Yuan appeared impossibly small—no more than an ant. Yet, that single punch carried unfathomable power.

The White King, with its massive mountainous frame, was blasted backward. Its hundred-meter-long form tumbled across the battlefield. Scales burst open in showers of blood and light. Not even its monstrous bulk could withstand the blow.

But Lu Yuan had no intention of letting it off. He unclenched his fist to form a hand blade and slashed it directly at the creature’s vulnerable point—its vital ”seven-inch” core.

Squelch—!

The White King’s colossal form was cleaved in two. Its vitality ebbed rapidly; its life force bleeding out into the soil.

The sight was utterly terrifying. Lu Yuan felt like a war god that descended from the heavens.

After slaughtering seven beast kings without any effort, even the strongest White King was nothing before him.

It was crushed.

Humbled.

Destroyed.

However, Lu Yuan’s brows slightly furrowed, his gaze turned sharp as it locked onto something ahead.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

Despite only having half of its body left, the White King was not yet dead. Its mutilated body twisted violently and was fleeing with desperate speed.

Fear consumed its heart. This human was too terrifying. It poured every last ounce of strength into escape, and in the blink of an eye, it had crossed over a thousand meters in the direction of Qinling.

The White King knew that if it stayed even a moment longer, it would die.

As for the plan to destroy human cities? The ambition to annihilate humans? None of that mattered now in the face of survival.

”Clever,” Lu Yuan remarked with a soft chuckle. ”But do you really think you can escape?”

With a flip of his hand, the Heavenquake Bow materialized in his palm and in one fluid motion, he drew it taut.

Heaven and earth essence surged and condensed into a radiant arrow gleaming with a golden hue.

To ensure the kill, just like back in Qingyang City, he imbued the shot with lightning.

Bzzzzz—

A pulse of devastating power began to hum. At that moment, Lu Yuan took aim.

The White King felt the immense threat that loomed overhead. Its soul trembled, and it shouted in a defiant tone.

”You can kill me. So what? There are many more mutated beasts in this world, and they are stronger than you can imagine! A vast plan is already in motion!

”Killing me is declaring war. And killing me will only grant you a fleeting illusion of peace!”

”If you stop now, I can intervene. I can mediate between humans and the beasts. I can even—”

The White King abruptly fell silent.

Because Lu Yuan had already loosened his fingers.

Whoosh—

A golden arrow, laced with the crackling might of thunder, shot forth.

The White King was already grievously wounded and stood no chance. Struck by the single arrow, the remaining half of its massive body burst apart; its lifeforce utterly extinguished.

The great war between humanity and mutated beasts would eventually erupt. Its ignition was never dependent on whether the White King lived or died.

Even if Lu Yuan had spared the White King, the latter would never have stopped the tide. Just like their brief exchange earlier, it was the law of the jungle.

Only absolute power could silence conflict. Even so-called mediation would amount to nothing more than a momentary peace.

Lu Yuan understood this truth and thus displayed no hesitation.

He remained where he stood, tall and unwavering. Like before, his robes were untouched by even a speck of dust.

Dead...

The White King was dead. All eight beast kings were dead!

Inside the temporary command center, silence blanketed the room. They could not calm the tremors in their souls.

This man was simply too strong and transcended what they knew about the limitations of an Awakened. Words failed to express the emotions within them.

Unfortunately, the overwhelming energy fields disrupted the transmission signal. All they could see was the grainy footage of a human-shaped silhouette.

Until the very end, as Zhu Qingyu watched the scene where the White King was slain, her heart jolted.

A breathless mutter escaped her lips, ”I think... I know who he is!”
