Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Tens of thousands of terracotta soldiers stood in formation with their weapons pointed at the intruders. With a general at the helm of the army, the sight was so intimidating that everyone present hesitated to advance.

These terracotta soldiers weren’t living beings but clay relics from over two thousand years ago. Despite that, they stood like living figures as they faced the Awakened.

Above, dark clouds gathered, and thunder roared as if the tomb itself was issuing a warning, telling everyone not to advance any further.

The Primordial Dragon of Huaxia had died two thousand years ago. Was it truly still capable of displaying such an imposing might?

”They’re nothing but warriors made of clay. We’re Awakened. Why should we be afraid of them?”

”Exactly. This shocking and bizarre sight also proves that there’s something amazing in there!”

”That’s right! Let’s kill our way through and obtain whatever is inside so we can evolve again!”

Moments later, some people came to their senses. They were Awakened on the path of evolution. They weren’t ordinary figures and could certainly take risks for the sake of evolving once more. Mere terracotta soldiers were nothing in their eyes.

With that in mind, hundreds of Awakened at the forefront surged forward. Some drew long sabers, some iron swords, and others brandished their long spears before leaping dozens of meters in a single jump.

Halos of light emanated from the Awakened as all of them displayed their extraordinary abilities.

An Awakened slashed out with his long saber, shattering several terracotta soldiers at once. Others spewed flames, intending to return the enemies before them to dust.

A kaleidoscope of lights flared as the terracotta soldiers crumbled to ashes under the combined assault of the Awakened.

Unlike how ordinary people would fight, the sight of so many Awakened displaying their abilities at once created a scene straight out of a myth.

”Hahaha! The terracotta soldiers of the Mausoleum are nothing special! Hahaha!” An Awakened with a long saber in hand laughed heartily. In just a few moments, he had already destroyed dozens of terracotta soldiers.

The thousands of Awakened behind him all made their moves, and judging from how they were easily destroying the terracotta soldiers, it wouldn’t take long for them to defeat the terracotta army.

The others were excited, thinking that their earlier concern was truly unfounded. At first, they thought the terracotta soldiers from two thousand years ago would be terrifying enemies to fight, but they were mistaken.

These terracotta soldiers were just a bit stronger than the ordinary Awakened.

While the others were busy having the time of their lives, those unmoving wore serious expressions.

The Winged Celestial God hovered above. His arms were crossed as he observed the battle. Clearly, he was looking for the right moment to act.

Lu Yuan was the same, staying quiet.

”Hm?” Just then, Lu Yuan noticed that the Great Luo Sword Embryo had stirred. It was humming, seemingly expressing a deep... longing? Lu Yuan’s curiosity was piqued.

He looked down and discovered that it was caused by those terracotta soldiers. The specific reason eluded him, so he decided to stay silent and wait a bit longer.

”They are desecrating His Majesty’s tomb! Soldiers! Follow me and charge!” the terracotta general roared, brandishing the long spear in his hand. Like the general, the horse beneath him was an inanimate object, but it neighed in response to the general’s order.

”Kill! Kill! Kill!” The terracotta soldiers behind the general roared at once with their weapons raised high.

Before their voices could finish echoing across the air, the soldiers stepped out together and transformed the tomb into a massive battlefield.

Dust and smoke filled the air as the shattered terracotta soldiers reassembled, returning to their unscathed forms. Then, they advanced with the great army with their weapons pointed at the intruders.

What was going on? How was this even possible? The terracotta soldiers were immortal?

Everyone present revealed astonishment at the sight, yet remained unafraid, thinking they only needed to kill them again.

As both sides roared, the great battle finally began—an army from over two thousand years ago versus the Awakened of the New Era.

A cacophony of noises filled the air. The Awakened surged forward, landing in the midst of the terracotta soldiers before shattering every single one of them nearby.

However, the shattered terracotta soldiers quickly reassembled themselves and attacked the Awakened once again.

Considering how each Awakened could kill multiple terracotta soldiers at once, there weren’t that many terracotta soldiers, but for some reason, the terracotta soldiers couldn’t be laid to rest.

To make matters worse, they were particularly skilled in stratagems and various military formations that took advantage of their teamwork. They would isolate an Awakened before taking them down with their spears and sabers.

Moreover, the terracotta soldiers seemed to be becoming stronger after each revival.

Sparks flew as weapons clashed in midair, creating harsh noises that pierced the ears of the living.

Some Awakened indeed possessed extraordinary power, but weren’t strong enough. Eventually, wounds riddled their figures, and they started collapsing one after another.

Those with slightly stronger physiques received extra attention and were quickly worn down by dozens of terracotta soldiers at once.

At first, the Awakened held the advantage, but as time went on, the scales of the battle started tipping in favor of the terracotta soldiers. Even worse, more and more terracotta soldiers were jumping out of the holes.

Their increasing numbers forced those from the sidelines to join the great battle.

Eventually, the severely wounded Awakened were cut down. Some casualties had finally occurred, and it was inevitable. The ongoing battle was being recorded, since many people paid attention to the Mausoleum in Mount Li.

Soon, rivers of blood soaked the ground as quite a few Awakened were killed. If they were outside, the world would surely be in an uproar by now.

”Hmph, what a bunch of idiots. Why are they even fighting them head-on? Watch me; this is how you do it,” an Awakened remarked with a sneer. Then, he flapped his wings and took to the skies. His goal was to fly over the battlefield and reach the gateway that way.

Despite possessing wings like the Winged Celestial God, his wings were only capable of flight and were devoid of any special abilities.

People looked up, curious if the Awakened’s approach would work. If it worked, they would find ways to emulate it.

Rumble!

Just as the Awakened was about to reach the gateway, the ”dragon” above the mountain trembled, and a wave of terrifying pressure swept across that Awakened, crushing him into a bloody mist.

The Awakened below were all shocked and terrified by the sight.

Indeed, entering the Primordial Dragon’s resting place wasn’t going to be that easy.

”It seems that we must carve out a bloody path to enter the imperial tomb. Each time they shatter and reassemble, they grow stronger. Even fire can’t destroy them.

”To make matters worse, they’re fighting with the fighting instincts from more than two thousand years ago. How troublesome,” the Winged Celestial God remarked. He descended to Zhou Yunqiong’s side upon gathering information from the sidelines.

The most troublesome trait of the terracotta soldiers was the fact that they would become stronger each time they revived.

”I guess that’s how the Mausoleum in Mount Li has to be,” replied Zhou Yunqiong, remaining as calm and composed as ever.

”Why did you stop me earlier? Why did you not let me kill him?” the Winged Celestial God asked, his gaze somewhat sharp. ”I’m in my true form now; no one here is my match.”

”There was no need to do that,” Zhou Yunqiong replied, shaking her head. Then, she looked at Lu Yuan standing in the distance. ”He’s changed a lot, beyond my expectations.”

”It’s about time,” Zhou Yunqiong said, changing the topic. ”Get ready to move.”

”Those four aren’t here yet,” replied the Winged Celestial God with a shake of his head. ”However, I can already sense their auras.”

Meanwhile, the great battle up ahead went on.

At this point, almost all the Awakened had joined the slaughter, but there were just too many terracotta soldiers for them to handle. Even worse, it was becoming increasingly difficult to defeat the terracotta soldiers, as they would become stronger upon every revival.

Screams rang out as some tried to flee but were trapped within the holes. Blood flowed across the earth, and the stench of iron hung heavily in the air.

It hadn’t even been thirty minutes since the tomb opened, yet rivers of blood were already flowing through the ground. Indeed, the sight truly proved the veracity of the saying, ”fortune and misfortune go hand in hand.”

Boom!

Just then, a massive blood-red pillar descended on the battlefield. Immediately afterward, a powerful saber energy swept outward, shattering dozens of terracotta soldiers at once.

When the crowd came to their senses, they saw a man wrapped in a black cloak with a blood-red saber in his hand.

As soon as he appeared, a powerful aura and killing intent surged out of him. The terracotta soldiers quickly surrounded him, but he decimated them with a single slash of his saber.

Those who couldn’t retreat in time were injured by his indiscriminate attack.

”Asura’s here!” someone shouted, shocked by Asura’s strength.

Swoosh!

Before the crowd could recover from their shock, a cold, bone-chilling aura swept across the battlefield.

When the cold aura reached the terracotta soldiers, they froze at once and shattered into pieces.

The cold aura was coming from a fair and elegant-looking woman in white robes. Her hands were placed neatly in front of her as she walked into the battlefield. All enemies within three meters of her were frozen solid, no exceptions.

Moments later, a short-haired man towering two meters tall descended upon the battlefield. His bronze skin seemed to glimmer as he relied solely on his fist to battle. He lunged at a mounted terracotta general, shattering the general into pieces, along with his horse.

Finally, a man with a handsome face and a proud but noble demeanor appeared. Lights in many different colors swirled around him. He swung his hand, cracking the earth open and decimating dozens of terracotta soldiers at once.

”The Ice Fairy, the Northern Emperor, the Southern Sovereign, and the Asura! The Winged Celestial God’s already here, which means all of the Five Supremes are here!”
