Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 58. The Sword’s Might Shocks Everyone, Could They Be the Same Person?

Perhaps because she knew him, Zhu Qingyu often thought of Lu Yuan. When he killed Zhou Biqiong and stood steadfast against the Wuzhou Group, Zhu Qingyu became more convinced that he was extraordinary.

Despite that, Lu Yuan hadn’t moved a muscle, even though the gateway had been open for quite a while now, and Zhu Qingyu found it strange.

Now that he had finally decided to make a move, Zhu Qingyu immediately focused on him.

”So that’s how it is...” Lu Yuan murmured softly to himself. He had been observing those terracotta soldiers all along, wondering why the sword embryo was reacting to their presence.

Combining his observations with his memories from his previous life, he quickly deduced what was going on.

There was a special substance within the terracotta soldiers, allowing them to keep reviving and become even stronger after each revival.

The Great Luo Sword Embryo was a mysterious object from beyond the stars. It could fuse with various materials like divine gold and other similar materials. Of course, it was constantly evolving as well.

Even though he had no idea why that was the case, Lu Yuan naturally wouldn’t ignore it. Having made up his mind, Lu Yuan stepped forward, and the sword embryo stirred once more.

Meanwhile, the Awakened finally had a path that led to the gateway, and it was all thanks to the Winged Celestial God’s suggestion.

Unfortunately, the terracotta soldiers’ immortality meant that they had to move carefully and plan their next move with that in mind. However, they believed it mattered little; if the terracotta soldiers kept reviving, they would simply keep killing them. In the end, they would eventually enter the Mausoleum.

Having received everyone’s attention, the Winged Celestial God’s vanity was satisfied. Standing at the forefront, he said, ”Everyone, let’s do it again.”

As soon as his words fell, he discovered that some of the people’s gazes were somewhere else. He turned to follow their gazes and saw Lu Yuan with the Great Luo Sword Embryo in hand.

He seemed to be moving with a fixed destination in mind. When he stopped, there weren’t any people around him, only terracotta soldiers. Sensing Lu Yuan’s aura, they immediately started attacking him.

The sword embryo in his hand was emanating strands of sword light. With his current strength, he had no need to use the Great Luo Sword Embryo at all.

What could these terracotta soldiers do to him, even if there were thousands of them? With the Bloodforce Pagoda, he could crush them instantly. Their numbers didn’t matter at all.

In other words, Lu Yuan could enter the gateway whenever he wanted.

However, the sword embryo had to evolve. If Lu Yuan wanted to ensure the sword embryo’s evolution, he had no other way but to destroy these tens of thousands of terracotta soldiers and make the sword embryo absorb them.

After all, materials like divine gold were too scarce in the early days of the New Era. In addition, the Great Luo Sword Embryo demanded rarer and more powerful materials than the usual, which meant obtaining them was even more difficult.

”Isn’t that Lu Yuan? What’s he doing there?”

”Looks like he’s going to attack. Is he going to carve out a path for us?”

”No way he can do that. The Five Supremes could barely open up a path. How could one person do something like that?”

”Yeah, he’s too arrogant.”

”Does he really think he’s on the same level as the Winged Celestial God?”

The Awakened stare at Lu Yuan with curiosity in their eyes, but they couldn’t understand his actions at all.

Lu Yuan had killed Zhou Biqiong earlier, displaying his strength. They acknowledged he was strong, but that was about it.

Now, he was standing alone against a myriad of terracotta soldiers. What could he possibly do when he was alone? No man was an island, after all. Still, many wanted to see exactly what he would do.

Even the Northern Emperor, Ice Fairy, and the rest of the Five Supremes watched closely, hoping to gauge his strength against their own.

”It’s close...”

Staring at the swarm of terracotta soldiers, Lu Yuan glanced at the Mausoleum’s gateway. Good, he thought. Then, he quietly raised the Great Luo Sword Embryo. He didn’t draw on his own powers and only channeled the sword embryo’s power.

This sword strike was going to be unlike the previous ones.

”Slash,” Lu Yuan uttered and gently swung the Great Luo Sword Embryo.

At that exact moment, the strands of sword light emanating from the sword embryo converged at once. Then, everyone present felt a terrifyingly powerful sword intent that pressed on their hearts and souls as if it were a mountain.

Everyone, including the Five Supremes, felt their souls freeze; their figures stiffened, and they felt as if they were the target of the attack, even though that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Swoosh!

A radiant light burst from the Great Luo Sword Embryo. The light was so bright that everyone was forced to squint; they couldn’t even stare at it directly.

A distinct sword cry reverberated as the sword light swept across the terracotta soldiers.

BOOM!

A loud explosion occurred, and the ground quaked as the terracotta soldiers before Lu Yuan crumbled into ashes. They couldn’t even put up any resistance against the formidable sword light. Powerful aura rushed forth, making the very earth tremble.

Everyone’s heart trembled at the sight, and the resonant sword hum of the Great Luo Sword Embryo left an indelible mark in their souls.

When the light dissipated, another wave of shock washed over everyone. They saw Lu Yuan standing in his original position with a sword in hand. After what felt like an eternity, he stepped forward, walking as if he were on a leisurely stroll.

Instead of flat land, however, Lu Yuan had stepped into a deep ravine that extended all the way to the Mausoleum’s gateway. Piles of dust littered the ravine; there was no mistaking it; the terracotta soldiers were forcibly returned to mere dust with just one sword strike.

Yes, tens of thousands of terracotta soldiers had crumbled, unable to withstand a single attack.

”Goodness... a slash... was all it took to destroy tens of thousands of terracotta soldiers?”

”H-he’s too strong! What was that?! W-wait, doesn’t that mean he’s stronger than the Five Supremes combined?”

”N-no way, that couldn’t be him. It was definitely that sword. The Winged Celestial God is at the apex of us Awakened, and there’s no way he’s stronger than the Winged Celestial God.”

Everyone was stunned, and their faces revealed disbelief. They had just witnessed something so terrifying that it overturned their worldview. That one terrifying sword strike had more than just exceeded their expectations; it destroyed them.

His strength... had to be equivalent to a missile of the modern era.

They couldn’t help but recall their meaningless struggle against the terracotta soldiers. Moreover, even the Five Supremes joining forces couldn’t destroy so many terracotta soldiers with just one attack.

The contrast was too stark.

How could this be? They truly couldn’t accept it.

That’s impossible... that’s absolutely impossible! Even Awakened Realm experts aren’t that strong! Is he beyond the Awakened Realm? The Winged Celestial God was shocked, and he could not believe it at all.

After all, even he couldn’t accomplish what Lu Yuan had done.

It’s that sword! It has to be that sword!

The Winged Celestial God believed that Lu Yuan’s strength stemmed from that sword. Otherwise, there was no way to explain Lu Yuan’s display of strength.

The Winged Celestial God’s heart became filled with fury. He was supposed to be the most dazzling presence here, yet Lu Yuan surpassed him again, twice in less than an hour. He couldn’t tolerate it at all.

He wanted to walk up to Lu Yuan and avenge himself, but the revived terracotta soldiers swarmed him, forcing him to keep fighting.

The Northern Emperor, the Southern Sovereign, and the others snapped back to their senses. The thousands of terracotta soldiers forced them to fight back.

Lu Yuan’s sword strike had destroyed only half of the terracotta soldiers. The other half was right in front of them. They couldn’t afford to be careless here. Otherwise, things would become very troublesome.

A divine artifact! That’s a heaven-defying divine artifact! It must be from the meteorite. Forget whatever’s inside the tomb, I must obtain that sword! Wang Tao trembled uncontrollably, and his eyes shimmered with greed.

With that sword in hand, surpassing his older brother would just be a matter of time. Having made up his mind, Wang Tao decided not to enter the Mausoleum.

He knew that there was no way he could obtain whatever was inside, but there was a high chance he could obtain Lu Yuan’s sword if he simply waited here to ambush him.

He had powerful weapons of the modern era up his sleeve, and the fact that the sword was strong wouldn’t necessarily mean that Lu Yuan himself was strong.

”That sword...” Dean Zheng was stupefied as well. However, his line of thought aligned with the others. He believed Lu Yuan’s strength depended entirely on the sword. Otherwise, there was no way to explain his terrifying strength.

”Why does he look so familiar?” Zhu Qingyu muttered, staring at Lu Yuan’s back. Then, she remembered that the owner of that arrow was exceedingly powerful as well, just like Lu Yuan.

Could they be the same person? Zhu Qingyu entertained a bold thought.
