Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

”I didn’t expect that Lu guy to actually come here.”

On the Longevity Genetics side, Wang Tao’s attention was on the recent conflict. Comparing Lu Yuan’s face to the photo, he confirmed that he had finally found his target. What he hadn’t expected was that Lu Yuan would actually dare oppose the Wuzhou Group. Even worse, he almost fought with the Winged Celestial God.

”It must be that sword.”

Suddenly, Wang Tao was reminded of the Great Luo Sword Embryo in Lu Yuan’s hand earlier. When that sword appeared, Lu Yuan’s strength became terrifying, defying everyone’s expectations.

Wang Tao became certain of it. His mother was right. Lu Yuan had to have profited massively from that meteorite. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to face the Wuzhou Group.

The fact that he made that decision meant he had a trump card, and his trump card had to be that sword.

If he somehow obtained that sword, wouldn’t he be able to challenge his elder brother? For a moment, Wang Tao was tempted to snatch the sword.

”Second Young Master,” said an old man in long robes. He walked up to Wang Tao and reminded him, saying, ”You’re no match for him. It’s best not to have such thoughts.”

The old man in long robes was a powerful Awakened. He witnessed the earlier battle, but he couldn’t grasp Lu Yuan’s level of strength. Of course, he still confirmed that Lu Yuan was very strong, and that sword of his was particularly powerful.

It had to be a divine artifact from somewhere; hence, he walked up to Wang Tao and advised him not to entertain any vile thoughts.

”I know.” Wang Tao smiled. ”No matter how strong he is, he’s still just one person. We have many modern weapons in our hands. Of course, I know how to prioritize the bigger picture.”

To reassure the old man in long robes, Wang Tao spoke otherwise, but his true feelings betrayed his words.

His line of thought was this—once the Mausoleum was open, the great boons inside would surely fall onto his elder brother’s lap. In that case, why not shift his sights to Lu Yuan instead? Snatching that sword could prove far easier than snatching whatever was inside the tomb.

It wasn’t just Wang Tao.

Polaris Biotech, Skygod Technologies, and the other forces had all noticed Lu Yuan.

They all believed that the sword in his hands earlier was special, perhaps some kind of divine artifact. Now, they were all contemplating whether to recruit him or do something else...

These forces had refrained from making any rash moves, as their main target was still the Mausoleum. They judged that what was inside was far more important than Lu Yuan’s sword.

”He’s actually here?”

On the Aurora Academy’s side, Zhu Qingyu stared at Lu Yuan’s back, astonishment flickering in her eyes. Her focus had been fixed on the Mausoleum, but the recent conflict was too fierce. The Winged Celestial God even appeared, forcing her to look over. With just one glance, she was stunned. She saw the very man she had met in the mountains outside Qingyang City.

To think that he was actually so powerful... How had she not noticed it before?

”What? You know him?” Dean Zheng asked, looking down with curiosity.

Lu Yuan’s performance deserved everyone’s attention, and even he couldn’t ignore it. He even contemplated recruiting him to the Aurora Academy.

As for the murders, it had become commonplace nowadays. As long as the murders weren’t done inside one of the five supercities, it would be fine.

”I know him, but I don’t know his name,” Zhu Qingyu said after a brief moment of contemplation.

”He’s a rude guy and stayed silent at the time,” Qin Lan said from the side, but she quickly shrank upon recalling how Lu Yuan had crushed Zhou Biqiong’s neck. She suddenly felt grateful for Qingyu’s intervention back then.

If she had said a few more words at the time... Qin Lan couldn’t help but shiver at the mere thought that she could have died had it not been for Zhu Qingyu. How terrifying.

”Is that so?” Dean Zheng replied and stayed silent, focusing all his attention on the Mausoleum.

At this point, all eyes were on the Mausoleum, waiting for it to open.

As time went on, rumbling noises echoed from the ancient gateway. Then, waves of surging power rushed skyward. Clouds converged overhead, blotting out the sun, casting shadows upon everyone.

Crackle!

A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky. The transformation of the Mausoleum in Mount Li had thrown both heaven and the earth into an uproar, draining the surroundings of their color.

Soon, even the air itself started vibrating. A terrifying pressure manifested, making everyone feel suffocated. At the same time, the gateway finally manifested, and the ancient patterns all over it emanated a radiant light.

Auspicious beasts like the qilin, pixiu, dragons, and phoenixes, as well as fierce, menacing beasts like Qiongqi, Taowu, and Taotie appeared, struggling to break free from the gateway to wreak havoc all over the world.

As expected, the Primordial Dragon’s resting place was truly extraordinary!

Some took out their phones and cameras, capturing photos and videos to post online, knowing that this scene would surely attract attention worldwide.

The sound of drumbeats pervaded the air, and each drum intensified until the noises ceased at once, along with the radiant light.

Finally, the gateway trembled, and then it opened slightly.

An ancient, desolate aura wafted out from within as if stepping through the gateway meant reaching an ancient world. The weak Awakened among the crowd found their hearts pounding wildly against their chests, their faces becoming as pale as a sheet.

Lu Yuan stood among the crowd. Alone, of course. The nearby Awakened gave him space out of respect for his strength. Lu Yuan’s face was solemn as he stared at the Mausoleum.

If one were to talk about Huaxia’s famed lands with great fortune, Mount Li would definitely count as one. The others were Kunlun, Taihang, Qinling, Shennongjia, and more.

In other words, the surreal phenomena unfolding before everyone wasn’t exactly a strange sight. There were so many legends and myths out there with their own bizarre elements.

Considering that they were in a New Era where the bizarre was commonplace, whatever was happening within the Mausoleum couldn’t be called strange at all.

Just then, loud rumbling echoed from the gateway. The rumbling noises intensified until the gateway was fully open.

A staircase made from white jade appeared before everyone’s gaze. The staircase emanated a faint glow, and it led upward, with no end in sight. It was like a path that led directly to the celestial realm!

Could the Primordial Dragon’s resting place lie not underground, but in the heavens? That was everyone’s first thought upon seeing the staircase, yet it lasted only an instant. A strange aura swept over them, seemingly telling them that they could undergo evolution by stepping through the gateway!

”The Mausoleum is open! Everyone, follow me inside! Our chance to evolve is right before our eyes!”

”Where the Primordial Dragon slumbers lies a great boon! Whoever obtains it will reach the apex!”

”Let’s go! I’m going first!”

Under the strange aura’s influence, the calm Awakened lost their composure and grew crazed. Only those above Tier V of the Foundation Realm remained unmoved, as a sense of foreboding had engulfed them upon seeing the staircase.

Lu Yuan stood among them with his arms crossed, remaining calm and still.

Rumble!

As expected, the land beneath the gateway collapsed, giving way to massive holes.

”W-what’s going on?!” someone cried out. They came to a halt and snapped back to reality at the terrifying sight. It couldn’t be helped. Rumbling noises were coming from the earth, and massive holes had appeared before them practically in an instant.

”Don’t they look like those terracotta soldiers? That’s right, they’re those terracotta soldiers made from clay!”

”Yeah, I saw them on TV. They’re terracotta soldiers of the Qin Dynasty!”

Those who approached the holes were astonished to see so many terracotta soldiers. There were tens of thousands of them. Some held spears, some carried swords, some drove chariots, and some rode horses.

Each of them looked as if they were alive, shocking everyone present.

”Why should we be afraid of them? They’re just some clay warriors. Let’s just go ahead and enter the Mausoleum,” said a brave Awakened upon recovering from the initial shock.

He told those behind him not to be afraid and to enter the Mausoleum. Then, he took the lead and walked up ahead. Upon seeing that, the others moved forward, afraid of losing the initiative out of mere fear.

They couldn’t compare to those major forces; all they could do was rely on their courage and bravery to earn some profits.

”Those who trespass upon His Majesty’s tomb shall be killed without mercy!” screamed a terracotta general standing at the helm of the army.

Immediately afterward, the entire terracotta army stepped forward in unison. Raising their weapons, they roared, ”Kill without mercy!”

Their voice traversed two thousand years of time to echo loudly in everyone’s hearts. Then, under everyone’s astonished gaze, the terracotta soldiers assumed formation and actually walked out from the holes.

The sound of their footsteps pervaded the skies as they walked slowly toward everyone outside. They emanated no aura as if they were dead, but there was no mistaking it—they had come to life with their weapons raised against the Awakened to protect the Mausoleum.

Everyone present felt their scalps tingle at the shocking sight. Mount Li’s two-thousand-year-old terracotta army had just come to life right before their eyes.
