Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 62. Commanding the Netherworld’s Army, the Primordial Dragon’s Resting Place (2)

”I need to enter the Primordial Dragon Hall,” said Lu Yuan with the Ghost Seal in hand. The yin soldiers before him didn’t hesitate; they walked toward the plaza’s center while uttering a mysterious incantation.

Rumble!

The plaza trembled violently before collapsing. Moments later, a magnificent hall slowly rose from underground. The ancient hall constructed from unknown materials stood dozens of zhang tall.

Its architectural style resembled the Qin Dynasty’s, predominantly black, with pitch-black steps before the hall doors. The hall looked incomparably majestic, and the three words written in the Qin Dynasty’s script on the plaque hanging just above the hall’s entrance said, ”Primordial Dragon Hall.”

Combined with the constellations above and the geographical features of the world below, the entire hall radiated an imposing presence that made it feel as if it could stabilize all nine provinces by its sheer grandeur alone.

The hall was the Primordial Dragon’s final resting place, and it appeared before Lu Yuan just like that.

”Finally...” Lu Yuan smiled, realizing that the first key had worked. Then, he quietly walked up, step by step, toward the Primordial Dragon Hall.

Just as he was about to ascend the steps, he stopped and looked at the Yin General at the helm of the yin soldiers. ”There are trespassers around, and they ought to be punished. Keep doing what you were doing earlier.”

With that, he smiled and ascended the steps.

The Yin General only nodded in response.

Meanwhile, the frozen yin soldiers in the other ninety-eight independent spaces trembled and started moving once again upon receiving some kind of command. They moved quickly, attacking the Awakened.

”Ahhh! I thought they were done!”

”Why are they moving again? We’re gonna die at this rate!”

”Can someone tell me what’s going on?!”

The Awakened were shocked by the turn of events. They truly believed they were safe, so they hadn’t expected that the yin soldiers would attack them again. To make matters worse, they were even fiercer than earlier.

The Winged Celestial God and others revealed ugly expressions at the sight. They responded to the assault, but there were too many enemies for them to deal with. In addition, each Yin Soldier was comparable to an Awakened.

Even if their strength could only be compared to someone on the First Tier or Second Tier of the Foundation Realm, their numbers were just too overwhelming to handle.

At this rate, forget about harvesting the spiritual fruits and exotic herbs; they could definitely die in the face of this deluge of yin soldiers.

Zhou Yunqiong’s face appeared pale; she also hadn’t expected this turn of events.

Just like that, the battle resumed. Everyone screamed and wailed, but none knew this was all due to Lu Yuan’s order.

Unlike those in danger, Lu Yuan casually ascended the steps, making his way toward the Primordial Dragon Hall as if he were on a leisurely stroll. Below, the yin soldiers lowered their heads slightly toward him.

The secrets within the Mausoleum are far more complex than I had imagined. Lu Yuan pondered while staring at the Primordial Dragon Hall just ahead of him.

In the old days, it was impossible to reach this place by excavating the original Mausoleum, and it was all because the so-called Mausoleum at Mount Li was a fake one, a mere facade.

As for why this was the case, Lu Yuan wasn’t clear about it; historical records contained no mention of it, after all. However, legends had it that there were qi refiners in the pre-Qin period. Back then, those so-called ”qi refiners” pursued immortality and were equivalent to the modern-day Awakened.

With that in mind, Lu Yuan felt like the world during the Qin Dynasty wasn’t exactly different from the world at the moment.

After all, Huaxia gave birth to many myths, even after the Qin Dynasty. Perhaps those weren’t mere myths, but real.

This world contained so many secrets that even a lifetime’s worth of experience wasn’t enough for him to know every single one of them. In the end, he could only uncover those secrets one by one.

One of those secrets was the Primordial Dragon’s true resting place. Who could have imagined that it was hidden within layers of space right behind its facade? No, who would even dare to imagine that the true resting place was right here?

Of course, this was Lu Yuan’s second visit, after all. He wasn’t exactly shocked, but the sight left him reeling at the fact that Huaxia indeed had many secrets.

While thinking about many things, Lu Yuan finally ascended all the steps and made his way just outside the great hall.

The Primordial Dragon Hall, as its name suggested, had reliefs of a black dragon carved all over the place. The Qin Dynasty revered water, and the color black represented water among the five elements.

The hall doors were tightly closed. He grazed them lightly with his fingers. The doors were made of a special material; it was neither metal nor iron, yet it was extremely dense. Even with his current strength, opening them through brute force was impossible.

Of course, Lu Yuan was prepared.

He sat cross-legged and retrieved something from the Meridian Heavenmend Furnace. It was the small heirloom cauldron of the Chen Family, a small green bronze cauldron with three legs and two handles.

A green glow swirled around it, making it appear extraordinary.

”It’s time I make use of you,” Lu Yuan murmured to himself. He spent the last three months just preparing to enter the Mausoleum, so there was no way he would face setbacks like the others. Otherwise, all his efforts would be meaningless.

The expensive cauldron in Lu Yuan’s hand that cost him half a million was the most important key.

Lu Yuan took a deep breath and brought out the Great Luo Sword Embryo. Strands of light emerged from the sword embryo. Having absorbed that special substance from the terracotta soldiers, its sword energy had become sharper and thicker.

The patterns all over it had also become much more obvious than before, and of course, it still appeared ever-changing. Clearly, it was still in the middle of its evolution, but Lu Yuan had to use it now.

With a mere thought from Lu Yuan’s end, the sword embryo shrank, becoming as small as a dagger. Then, he used it to cut his palm. There was no choice; his physique was impervious to most blades and spears; even bullets couldn’t penetrate his skin. Without the sword embryo, he simply couldn’t wound himself.

Lu Yuan clenched his fist, pouring all the blood into the small cauldron. The cauldron wasn’t large, but now, it seemed bottomless, allowing blood to pour in without overflowing.

As time went on, the green light swirling around the cauldron became increasingly dazzling.

Cauldrons were vessels for a ritual and were also used as sacrificial offerings. In ancient times, it was indispensable during special events. Legend said that the cauldrons could communicate with the heavens, allowing deities to know one’s wishes.

Lu Yuan had no idea if that was true, but he had to use the cauldron to open the Primordial Dragon Hall’s doors.

Just then, the green light swirling around the cauldron became dazzling. Then, it left the cauldron and made a beeline for the hall’s doors.

The doors to the Primordial Dragon Hall trembled, but it remained tightly shut.

Upon seeing that, Lu Yuan said, ”Lu Yuan, of Huaxian descent, has come with the Ghost Seal in hand. I offer a sacrifice in the form of this cauldron. I wish to see the Primordial Dragon of Huaxia. May the Primordial Dragon grant me permission.”

Lu Yuan spoke softly, but the sacrificed green cauldron seemed to have done wonders, allowing his voice to pierce the great hall.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of thunderous booms echoed from the hall, and the light from the green cauldron pervaded the doors. Moments later, the doors to the Primordial Dragon Hall opened quickly.

Lu Yuan picked up the small cauldron and bowed slightly, imitating the people in ancient times. In his eyes, no one in this world deserved such a gesture, but the Primordial Dragon was different. The Primordial Dragon was a hero among heroes, deserving of his respect.

Lu Yuan stepped through the doors and into the great hall.

The hall was spacious, similar to the hall where officials attended court. Twelve pillars that would take over ten people to embrace stood there, riddled with bizarre patterns.

Upon stepping inside, Lu Yuan was hit with many different auras ranging from ancient, desolate, and majestic. It was hard to imagine that this hall was created over two thousand years ago.

However, if that era had given birth to the Awakened, it would be a completely different matter.

Lu Yuan paid no attention to the pillars and looked up as he walked forward.

At the very top of the hall were steps ascending to a high platform. Upon that platform sat a black imperial throne.

Lu Yuan fell into a daze; it was like he was staring at that Primordial Dragon from over two thousand years ago—the Primordial Dragon who had swallowed the world with his ambitions sat high above, overlooking the mountains and rivers that belonged to him.

What I need is on that imperial throne. Lu Yuan said to himself. His goal was finally right before his eyes. He only needed to walk up and take it for himself!
