Chapter 120 – 111: Women as Beasts of Burden_2

Moreover, it was very unsafe to do so, as the potion could easily be diverted to meet the urgent requirements of some noble’s offspring. If that happened, Rein would have no choice but to find a corner and cry his eyes out.

“Thank you very much, sir! I will be careful,” Rein said, naturally expressing his gratitude for Hamilton’s concern.

He also understood why Hamilton was worried, believing that he wasn’t yet ready to take the advanced magic potion and needed more time to improve himself.

But in fact, Rein had already decided that as soon as he got his hands on the advanced potion, he would consume it right away!

Rein had given this matter thought: possessing a piece of the rare potion specific to the Giant Bear Breathing Technique was like holding a hot potato, an item that many would covet, so he couldn’t afford to delay!

“Clang”

At that moment, Hamilton threw Rein a heavy bag of coins, smiling as he said, “Rein, this is the money for purchasing ‘Divine Blood.’ I might have gotten a bit of a bargain, but don’t mind that.”

Rein gave a slight smile and pushed the bag of coins back to Hamilton, saying, “Sir, I don’t need the money. I really like this set of Knight Armor; could you give it to me instead?”

Hamilton was startled for a moment but then burst into laughter the next second and said, “Haha, you sly fox, all right!”

He instantly understood Rein’s intention and looked at him with even greater appreciation.

After all, which boss wouldn’t like a subordinate who was not only capable but also didn’t hog the limelight and knew how to act appropriately!

After leaving Hamilton’s office, Rein went straight home.

First, Rein carefully reviewed the guide, which mainly explained that one must promptly use the Knight Breathing Method to channel the overwhelming energy of the advanced potion after consumption, cautiously transforming one’s own muscle fascia growth step by step.

Moreover, during this process, the primary substance in the potion would have a peculiar effect on the user; many Knights failed to get past this stage, leading to failed advancements, mutations, or even death.

However, for Rein, he had his own plan.

With his profession panel, there was no such thing as advancement failure.

So once the advanced potion arrived, Rein would choose to consume it immediately and advance.

Of course, what he needed to do now was “squeeze” Lagaray for more shield practice!

Half a day later.

Having the constitution of a barbarian, Lagaray, after acting as a sparring partner for Rein for half a day, also couldn’t help but gasp for breath.

At that moment, the already voluptuous figure of Lagaray became even more pronounced, immediately attracting the gazes of other Night Watchmen and peace officers within the administrative building, their eyes frequently darting in her direction.

From their expressions, they seemed to be saying that Rein was lucky indeed to have such a beautiful, exotic barbarian lady sparring with him.

“If I could have such a gorgeous woman wholeheartedly sparring with me, my strength would surely improve as well!” thought many of the Night Watchmen.

“Rein, we’ve already done this ten times, don’t you want to take a break?” Lagaray couldn’t figure out where Rein’s passion for practicing shield defense came from, she couldn’t find a reasonable explanation.

If it was due to a special love and dedication for Combat Skills, then why wasn’t he practicing the “Hammer Skill Essentials of Tokkal” he had recently acquired?

Thus, Lagaray was bewildered.

Could it be true, as Anna said last night, that Rein liked her type?

At this moment in Lagaray’s mind, she couldn’t help but picture Anna’s petite but slightly unripe figure contrasted with her own developed…body…

Alright! They were indeed two completely different styles!

So was Rein practicing shield defense to display his talent in order to gain her attention and favor?

Suddenly, Lagaray began to let her thoughts wander wildly.

Rein, on the other hand, seeing Lagaray who was obviously weary, felt a bit embarrassed; there was an old saying, “Men are beasts of burden, and women are to be used by men!” But this time, Rein had directly used Lagaray as a “beast of burden”!

“Erm…okay! Then let’s rest…for five minutes?” Rein could only consider Lagaray’s feelings, and took the initiative to suggest a short break.

Lagaray couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Rein. Five minutes?

Was he really that stingy!

Even though he was a barbarian, his physical recovery wasn’t that swift!

“Ten minutes! Otherwise, find someone else,” Lagaray said irritably.

“Haha, alright!” Rein scratched his head, as someone needing favors had no other options…

At that moment, a Night Watchman who couldn’t stand by anymore came over, glanced at the sweat-drenched Lagaray, then turned to Rein and said, “Rein, are you trying to practice shield defense? Even though I’m no match for you on my own, why don’t you consider multiple people at once?”

“Your strength and speed are too far behind Rein’s…”

However, before Lagaray could finish speaking, Rein interrupted.

“Wait!” Rein interjected.

It wasn’t that his fellow Night Watchman’s words made sense, but what the other said triggered a new idea in Rein.

“Maybe we should give it a try!” Rein said with a smile.

Rein then donned a full set of heavy Knight Armor, and after adding over a hundred pounds to his weight, his agility and speed naturally declined. Meanwhile, he had three fellow Night Watchmen, during his bout with Lagaray, aim at him with bows and shoot training arrows from time to time.

Under these circumstances, the pressure on Rein naturally skyrocketed!

The efficiency of his experience gain also became much higher.

Finally, by the next morning, Rein’s shield defense had reached lv3 (0/500), and the Night Watchman Profession Level soon after hit lv5 (0/2000), earning him one more attribute point and one more Skill Point.

In the afternoon, Rein was called to Hamilton’s office, who said the Magic Potion had arrived.

Upon entering the office, Rein saw a burly man with a beard, wearing the uniform of the Imperial Army, reminiscing with Hamilton.

Just from the side and back, the man’s broad lats sounded like those of a fierce tiger, coupled with a solid waist, perfectly fitting the phrase ‘tiger’s back and bear’s waist.’

The soft deerskin chair was deeply indented by his weight, a testament to the firmness of his muscles and heaviness of his body.

Hearing the noise of Rein’s entrance, the man fully turned his body to see who it was.

This allowed Rein to get a good look at the man’s rugged face, thick beard that wasn’t too long, and a side-swept hair style. His overall bearing was wild and uninhibited.

“Rein, this is my old friend, Colonel Conner Domingo of the Imperial Army, also known as ‘Greatsword Conner,ʼ” Hamilton said with a smile.

A Colonel in the Imperial Army?

Seems like a big shot!

Greatsword Conner?

Well, in front of him, it looks like my nickname ‘Greatsword Rein’ won’t be necessary anymore… Rein mused to himself.

“This time, Colonel Conner is here to deliver an advanced Magic Potion to you.”

However, as Hamilton said this, Rein was quite puzzled. An advanced Magic Potion, no matter how precious, surely didn’t warrant a special delivery by an Imperial Army Colonel!

“Colonel Conner, good to meet you!” Rein said respectfully with a bow.

“Hmm, so this is the young man you mentioned, Hamilton? He really does seem to have exceptional talent.”

“What about it, Rein? Interested in joining the Imperial Army’s Knight Corps?” the Colonel known as ‘Greatsword Conner’ asked with a smile after sizing up Rein.

“Conner! Are you trying to poach in front of me? That’s too much! Rein, don’t listen to him!” Hamilton pointed at Conner with a look of feigned anger.

Rein, of course, knew the two were jesting and kept his eyes down, listening attentively.

“Right, let’s discuss serious matters. Conner, aren’t you going to introduce the Giant Bear Magic Potion to Rein?”

“Hmm, right, I should introduce it,” Conner nodded and said.

“The main ingredient of your Giant Bear Magic Potion comes from the ‘Paw of the King Ironmane Bear.’

“Bears are not social animals, King Ironmane Bear refers to…”
