Chapter 119: 111 chapters Women as beasts of burden

“Phil Kraz had now placed Flashgold Town on the list of places to be raided, and as a Night Watchman, Rein was bound to encounter the pirates head-on, and he himself would make a special trip to Flashgold Town to take care of Rein.”

Dennis remained silent.

His father’s plan was meticulous… and shrewd.

No one would associate ‘Rein’s death’ with the Norman family, nor would anyone suspect a hereditary baron family over the death of a genius.

It seems, as the heir to a baron, he still had much to learn!

…

Flashgold Town administrative hall.

The conversation between Rein and Lord Hamilton was still ongoing in the office.

Upon hearing the news of his promotion, Rein naturally felt a flicker of joy inside.

Primarily because this aligned with his expectation—”to raise his tier within the imperial officials, thus gaining more support and information.”

Rein hadn’t immediately realized that the captaincy had become vacant only after Weilun firstly resigned.

He had thought it was just a routine promotion following the completion of the merit review for the last child rescue mission.

“Thank you, Lord Hamilton!” Rein bowed slightly, expressing his gratitude.

Hamilton smiled and nodded, saying, “The Night Watchmen need capable young people like you to join and take on greater responsibilities!”

“Right, as the captain of the Night Watchmen, you will be responsible for the area originally under Weilun’s jurisdiction, primarily the night patrols in the southern part of Flashgold Town, of course, there are other matters as well.”

“Specifically, you can transition with Weilun.”

“Eh? Captain Weilun he….” Rein was stunned, was the captaincy…

After Hamilton mentioned that Weilun had applied to step down to an ordinary Night Watchman, Rein couldn’t help but feel melancholic.

His very first Night Watchman mission—”clearing the merfolk at Glimmer Lake,” was led by Weilun, and it was during that mission that he was lucky enough to find a piece of Glowstone at the merfolk camp.

He hadn’t expected Weilun to step down so soon; Rein planned to visit the former captain Weilun later.

“Rein, there’s another matter, perhaps even more important to you. Your advanced Magic Potion is already on the way, and it should arrive in two days,”

“In two days? That’s great!” Rein was visibly more excited about this news than about his promotion to captain!

It meant a promotion to a formal Knight!

He had been waiting too long.

Thinking of the advanced Magic Potion naturally made Rein think about the requirements for becoming a knight. Currently, he still hadn’t met the shield defense criterion, although his archery and horsemanship skills had both advanced to lv3 the day before.

Rein glanced at shield defense under the Night Watchman panel, currently at shield defense lv2 (124/300), which was the result of training all day for eight hours with Lagaray.

If there were only two days left, he realistically couldn’t expect to advance his shield defense to lv3 or higher, unless he used Skill Points.

But Rein was naturally reluctant to use his precious Skill Points on shield defense.

“It looks like I’ll have to keep pushing Lagaray for the next two days, striving to advance my shield defense to lv3 or higher before the advanced Magic Potion arrives so I can take it immediately upon receipt.”

“Just right, I’ve passed the midway point of my Night Watchman Profession Level and am close to leveling up from the trials with Lagaray these past few days.”

“Perhaps, before my promotion, I can push my Night Watchman level a bit higher,” Rein thought. Join us on ReadNovelFull

On reflection, though it felt like he had been waiting a long time to be promoted to Knight, when calculated carefully, it had only been about two months since he started learning the Giant Bear Breathing Technique.

At that moment, Hamilton interrupted Rein’s thoughts.

“Right, Rein, since Lady Creya didn’t mention the advanced Magic Potion, I assume she also didn’t tell you about some other relevant details, like the precautions for use?”

“Precautions for use? Lady Creya indeed never mentioned those.” Rein glanced at Hamilton with a hint of confusion, shaking his head.

“I think it’s necessary to remind you.”

“Rein, before you take the advanced Magic Potion, you must bring yourself into optimal physical condition.”

As he spoke, Hamilton paused, seemingly pondering, then he thought of something and started searching through a drawer in his desk, pulling out a thin booklet and handing it to Rein.

“Specifically, it’s all in this booklet. This booklet comes with the advanced Magic Potion when exchanged for through Merit Points, and I’ll give this one to you.”

“Since you purchased directly from the military and didn’t have this guide,” Hamilton explained.

“Thank you, sir.” Rein took it and saw that it was titled ‘Advanced Magic Potion Consumption Guide.’

“Also, before you consume it, you must be very careful to safeguard your advanced Magic Potion. If others knew you possess a rare advanced Magic Potion corresponding to the Giant Bear Breathing Technique, you could be in significant trouble,”

At this, Hamilton frowned, seemingly also a bit worried.

“Ah, your advanced Magic Potion has arrived too early! If it had come just half a year later, no, even three months might have been just right,” Hamilton shook his head.

But he understood that the military wouldn’t keep this rare advanced Magic Potion for Rein just because he hadn’t advanced yet.
