Chapter 104 – 100 Hmm! I am also a Blacksmith

[You have trained in the Giant Bear Sword Technique, and your comprehension has improved!]

[Your skill, the Giant Bear Sword Technique, has gained a boost, Experience +2]

[Congratulations, your Giant Bear Sword Technique has advanced to lv5]

….

[Congratulations, you have unlocked an exclusive secret technique that combines the Giant Bear Breathing Technique with the Giant Bear Sword Technique: roaring strike lv2!]

Suddenly, Rein stood motionless in the training ground.

As the Giant Bear Sword Technique smoothly entered lv5 (0/2000), a series of fragmented training memories of the Giant Bear Sword Technique began to flood into Rein’s mind. The adept techniques contained within these memories quickly integrated into his muscle memory.

When Rein swung his Fine Steel Greatsword again, he felt a smoothness and familiarity that surpassed what he had known before.

Moreover, still basking in the joy of the Giant Bear Sword Technique’s level-up, Rein saw the successful unlocking of roaring strike lv2 on the Night Watchman panel.

Double happiness!

By the time Rein returned home, it was well into the night, and he made do with a night’s sleep in the small partitioned room.

The next morning, when Rein went to his room, he was startled to find Lagaray and Anna sitting on the bed, holding hands and leaning close together, whispering and chatting.

This scene left Rein stunned.

They’re holding hands already?

Indeed, the friendship between girls… such a mysterious thing…

“Rein, you’re back,” Anna said, blushing as she saw Rein and stood up.

“You two…?”

“I… I was just chatting with Lagaray about the time you saved me,” Anna explained.

Lagaray looked at Rein with a calm expression, asking, “What did the sheriff say?”

“He takes it very seriously, and he has already notified the County Town and the church. How about you? Do you feel better?”

“Much better,” Lagaray nodded.

“Brother, it’s time for breakfast!” At that moment, Bo He suddenly poked her head in from the doorway.

“Oh! Is this a new sister?” Bo He gazed at the beautiful and exotically styled new ‘sister’ with fluttering eyelashes, her voice tinged with curiosity.

Bo He had already been asleep in her own room the previous night when Rein brought Lagaray home, naturally unaware of what had happened then.

“What a cute little girl. Rein, is this your sister?” Lagaray’s eyes lit up as she saw Bo He, and she got up and walked over, embracing Bo He in her ample bosom.

Rein nodded and said, “Yes, this is my sister, Bo He. Bo He, this is Sister Lagaray.”

“Sister Lagaray, hello! Wow, sister, you’re so tall! Even taller than my brother,” Bo He exclaimed in amazement.

It was only then that Rein realized Lagaray was actually slightly taller than himself when she stood up.

He had been growing rapidly lately, now around one hundred seventy-five centimeters tall. Of course, his height would continue to increase swiftly over time.

By comparison, Lagaray’s height was roughly one hundred seventy-eight centimeters.

But overall, she didn’t come across as slender; her figure was curvy, yet just right.

After breakfast, Rein returned to his own room.

Having thought of Glowstone because of the incident with the Evil Spirit Knight, Rein especially took out the Glowstone to look at it and couldn’t help but sigh.

At that moment, Lagaray and Anna came in together. Seeing the ore in Rein’s hands, Lagaray couldn’t help exclaiming, “Sacred stone!”

“Sacred stone? Isn’t it called Glowstone?” Rein couldn’t help showing his confusion.

Isn’t it called Glowstone? Could it be that the Blacksmith Boris was fooling me? Surely not.

“Oh, yes, sacred stone is what we barbarians call it. According to the official naming of the Empire, it is indeed called Glowstone,” Lagaray nodded, explaining.

“May I take a look?”

“Of course!” Rein smiled, handing over the mysterious ore that emitted a hazy, soft light to Lagaray.

Lagaray took the Glowstone from Rein, her gaze full of reverence for it, and she slowly began to explain why:

“Glowstone holds a special place in the hearts of us barbarians.”

“Given the harsh environment we live in, we often encounter strange nature spirits, malignant spirits, or minions of the Evil God. Having a weapon infused with Glowstone is a crucial reliance in defeating them.”

“But Glowstone mines are incredibly hard to find, so we have this reverent name for it: sacred stone.”

“If my brother had brought our tribe’s Glowstone weapons with him, maybe he could have defeated that Crown Knight, or at the very least, he might have been able to escape alive.” Lagaray’s expression saddened once again as she thought of her brother.

“Why didn’t your brother…” Rein could not help asking but then felt it was inappropriate to continue.

However, Lagaray didn’t wait for Rein to finish his question and took the initiative to explain.

“Because weapons forged with Glowstone are very rare, the tribe’s rules state that these Glowstone weapons cannot be used in normal circumstances, except for certain special missions.”

“By the way, Rein, why don’t you incorporate the Glowstone into your greatsword?”

Lagaray had already noticed the Dual-Handed Greatsword that Rein carried on his back upon his return.

“Well… I asked the blacksmith in our town, and ordinary blacksmiths don’t have the capability to smelt Glowstone. Besides, another issue is the lack of a skilled swordsmith. So, even if Glowstone could be smelted, there’s no one to help me forge Glowstone weapons,” Rein explained.

“Plus, I have some special reasons why I can’t go to the County Town to find a high-level blacksmith to do this for now,” Rein added.

“Oh? In that case… maybe I can help you with this?” Upon hearing the reasons, Lagaray nodded and spoke to Rein seriously.

“Actually, besides using high temperatures to smelt Glowstone, it can also be done by adding a flux, with fluorite and a little of our barbarian blood.”

“`

“Hmm? There’s such a method?” Rein couldn’t help but widen his eyes, looking at Lagaray.

But seeing the serious expression on her face, he knew she wasn’t spouting nonsense.

“This is a common method used by us barbarians when forging Glowstone weapons.”

“Furthermore, I’m pretty good with forging axes, and I should have no problem with Dual-Handed Greatswords. Rein, could you show me your Dual-Handed Greatsword?”

“Of course, you can! But… Lagaray, are you also a Blacksmith?” Hearing that Lagaray had a special method to melt Glowstone and could even forge Dual-Handed Greatswords, he couldn’t help but be overjoyed.

“Yes! I am a Blacksmith too.” Lagaray nodded confidently, her face showing a hint of a smile, as if reminiscing about something pleasant.

Rein quickly handed his Fine Steel Greatsword to Lagaray.

Lagaray examined Rein’s Fine Steel Greatsword carefully, touching the spine and blade with her fingers, and said confidently, “If it’s a Dual-Handed Greatsword of this quality, I think I should have no problem.”

“Perhaps, it might even be better.”

“Rein, find an ordinary Blacksmith shop, and I can forge you a Glowstone Greatsword mixed with Glowstone for you.”

“That’s really fantastic!”

The events of today were somewhat beyond Rein’s expectations.

The Glowstone he had saved for a long time finally had a use.

Moreover, Rein had never imagined that the barbarian girl Lagaray he had rescued was actually a high-level Blacksmith.

“By the way, Lagaray, how long have you been studying forging?”

“Well…” Lagaray’s eyes seemed to reveal a sense of nostalgia.

“Since I was a child, I followed my father in our tribe’s blacksmith shop forging weapons.”

“I started trying to forge small Daggers around the age of five. Although my specialty is axes, I have also forged a few Dual-Handed Greatswords, since there are a few warriors in the tribe who use them.”

“I see!”

“Shall we go now then?”

“Right now?”

“Yes! I’m a Blacksmith too, and can help out a bit!” Rein said with a laugh.

Although his title as a Blacksmith was in name only, the only thing he knew how to forge was horseshoes.

But when it comes to face, what matters is what lies beneath the surface!

In fact, Rein saw this as an opportunity to learn some advanced forging techniques from Lagaray.

Even though he didn’t use axes, many things are common across different items.

In a past life, wasn’t there a saying, “One method understood, all methods understood? ”

Forging axes and Longswords, there must be many areas where one can infer other things from one fact.

Additionally, the most important point was that as his Blacksmith level increased, Rein hardly had any Skills that could quickly increase his Blacksmith Experience!

He believed that even if he didn’t learn to forge Dual-Handed Greatswords, learning to forge axes would be fine too.

Because forging weapons would certainly grant him a significant boost in professional Blacksmith experience.

Soon enough, Rein brought Lagaray to a small town’s blacksmith shop.

But as soon as they entered, they startled all the apprentices and even the Blacksmith Boris was no exception.

They had never seen a barbarian girl with such a wild aura and beauty.

Taking advantage of everyone’s stunned silence, Rein pulled Boris to the backyard.

“Uncle Boris, can we close the shop for a day today? I’ll cover any losses incurred.”

Before Boris could even ask why,

Rein continued, “The barbarian girl who came in just now, she’s going to help me cast Glowstone into my greatsword.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Boris nearly popped his eyes out in surprise, blurting out, “Rein, what did you say???”

“To give uncle a day off.”

“No, the next part!”

“To have Lagaray help me cast Glowstone into my greatsword.”

“Rein, you don’t think I don’t know my shop doesn’t have a high furnace, do you? And yet you joke about it! Even if she masters the craft of Dual-Handed Greatswords, I don’t have the matching tools here,” Boris said with slight helplessness.

“Of course, I know that. I have already told Lagaray, and she said she has a special flux formula that can solve this problem,” Rein said, smiling.

Boris wanted to say that couldn’t be possible.

But, seeing Rein’s serious look, Boris knew Rein was not joking.

“Then… Rein, can we make a deal? Can I stay and lend a hand? You know, I am a Blacksmith too, and I could be of some assistance,” Boris said, rubbing his hands, unusually embarrassed.

Suddenly, Rein got it!

Obviously, watching a high-level Blacksmith work was a rare learning opportunity.

What helping hand, he just wanted to steal some secrets!

Rein thought for a moment, shook his head, and said, “Uncle Boris, I can’t decide that for Lagaray, I need to ask her.”

“Yes, yes! Rein, I’ll be in your debt. Just let me help out, and you can use the blacksmith shop for free. If one day is not enough, two days, or even three days, are all possible!” Boris, typically stingy, rarely made a generous promise while patting his chest confidently.
