Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Retrieving their equipment from the purple clouds, ensuring nothing was left behind, Yang Yu led his companions into the darkness.

The black stone tablet they encountered that day stood straight in the center of the first layer of the underground maze.

Detecting Yang Yu and his companions’ approach, the black stone tablet emitted a golden glow, and text appeared on it.

It seemed that the Hall of History they were strategizing was made following the same template used for the Underground Maze guarded by the Corpse Collection Coffin.

The battle achievements within the illusion were neatly listed on the stone tablet, with the pass rate for each item fluctuating, and in the total column, it showed 105%.

Yang Yu and his companions successfully passed the test of the first layer.

Text continued to appear on the stone tablet:

[Congratulations on successfully passing the first layer of the Hall of History.

You now have the qualification to inherit the Holy Sword, and we hope you will continue to strive and pass the remaining tests to eventually acquire the Holy Sword.

Please remember, it’s not only the heroes who can wield the Holy Sword, but those who use the Holy Sword to defeat the Demon King are the true heroes.

When you are ready, place your hand on the stone tablet.

Don’t forget to take the square box containing the protective key; to open the door and draw the Holy Sword, both the key and the square box are essential.]

A red arrow appeared on the stone tablet.

The square box that disappeared from the center of the array was now unmoved under the red arrow.

This time, without hesitation, Yang Yu approached the black stone tablet with his companions, took the square box under the red arrow, and placed his hand on the black stone tablet.

To prevent sudden attacks like in the first layer, everyone held their weapons tightly.

When the last person placed their hand on the stone tablet, the originally black stone tablet emitted a dazzling light, which engulfed Yang Yu and the others in an instant.

As the light faded, Yang Yu and his companions gradually began to see their surroundings clearly; they had arrived on a vast wasteland.

The wasteland was barren, and there was not a single blade of grass, incredibly desolate.

”Bai Jin...”

Just as Yang Yu was about to ask Bai Jin to explore the surroundings, beams of light gathered in the barren open space, gradually becoming solid.

Accompanied by sharp howls, tall wild boar men wielding clubs emerged from the light.

[Fierce Wild Boar

Level: LV110

HP: 48111/48111 MP: 6024/6024

Attributes: Strength 1115, Defense 1622, Intelligence 206, Special Defense 1522, Agility 960

Resistance: Physical 20%, Magic 20%]

Wow, the monsters of the second layer are already at Level 110.

This level is normally found in monsters of the eighth or ninth layer of a super-large maze.

Although the attributes of the Fierce Wild Boar aren’t high, these attributes are equivalent to those of the Guardians of the bottom layers of an ordinary underground maze.

And there were over thirty such Fierce Wild Boars surrounding Yang Yu and his companions.

Upon discovering Yang Yu and the others, the Fierce Wild Boars let out another piercing howl, the sharp thorns on their backs stood upright, and they swung their giant clubs towards Yang Yu and his companions.

Without needing Yang Yu’s command, everyone knew the battle had begun.

Unhurried, Yang Yu raised his sword, and countless purple thorns grew from the ground, instantly entwining the attacking Fierce Wild Boars, trapping them in place.

The subsequent Fierce Wild Boars roared, using sharp magic to break Yang Yu’s thorns.

However, Yang Yu’s current power far exceeded the boars, and the quantity of thorns he controlled had also increased in level, making it impossible for these boars to simply cut through them.

Many Fierce Wild Boars quickly realized they were just wasting their efforts. They chose to bypass the thorns and attack from other directions.

Level 110 was an unreachable number for ordinary people, and the speed of 960 was extremely astonishing.

However, for Yang Yu and his companions, these boars were incredibly slow, merely perfect targets.

While the thorns restrained the Fierce Wild Boars, Bai Jin chanted magic quickly, forming one magic array after another in front of him:

”[Blizzard]!”

The white magic array released a biting cold wind, carrying pure white snowflakes that lashed onto the attacking boars, instantly freezing them.

Several Fierce Wild Boars used their skills and forcibly broke through the snowy blockade.

Suddenly, a beautiful flare of light flashed in front of them, instantly slicing through their thick skin.

Qiuye’s sharp blade strung out a series of impressive numbers on the Fierce Wild Boars.

Yang Yu would not be outdone; though he was a warrior with a focus on endurance and speed attributes, dealing with such monsters was effortless.

A red light pierced the palm, coating the blade with an orange-red glow. Yang Yu executed a Double-sided Slash, easily finishing off one of the near-dead Fierce Wild Boars.

The blood bar of the Fierce Wild Boar hit zero, releasing an unusual glow before dispersing into pure magic, ”clattering”, as gold coins fell alongside food pieces onto the ground.

Looking left and right, Yang Yu couldn’t find anything besides food among the pile of gold coins.

This maze seems considerate, preventing those strategizing it from starving by dropping food... there should be more than just gold coins and food, right...

Just as Yang Yu thought so, Iyas, having finished casting some buff skills, freed up his hands.

The monsters of this layer seemed imposing but were not strong; to finish the battle quickly, Iyas also needed to join the attack.

Releasing the bowstring, a radiant Light Arrow split mid-air, mercilessly piercing through the bodies of two Fierce Wild Boars, hitting the two boars behind them.

One Fierce Wild Boar caught by Bai Jin’s Frost Ice Arrow became critically injured.

Iyas’s arrow took the head, causing the boar to turn into glowing light and gradually disappear.

”Clattering” — gold coins scattered everywhere as a few book page-like things floated down from above, resting atop a uniquely glowing piece of equipment.

Yang Yu slapped his head heavily; though he always knew he was unlucky, he didn’t expect the gap between him and a Luck Emperor to be this vast.

Now, Yang Yu desperately wanted to throw his sword aside and let Iyas handle all the monsters here alone.

But he had to quell this feeling.

Yang Yu decided not to kill the monsters, leaving them all for Iyas and the others to finish off.

As long as he didn’t deal the final blow, the monsters wouldn’t drop equipment. If the monsters didn’t drop equipment, no one would know just how unlucky he actually was.

Yang Yu did just that.

Monsters that he could have slain in one move were left barely alive for Bai Jin and Iyas to finish.

Although this extended the overall time of the strategy, the rewards Yang Yu received increased exponentially.

After finishing the second layer, Yang Yu acquired over twenty pages with ancient text printed on them.
