Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

A gentle breeze brushed against his face, carrying a soft, refreshing scent of plants with no peculiar or gloomy odor.

The bright sunlight also brought a hint of warmth with the breeze, and Yang Yu felt at ease.

Yang Yu had explored many underground labyrinths before, seen unique structures, but it was his first time in this kind of underground maze.

This underground labyrinth blurred the lines between reality and illusion.

Iyas raised his nose and sniffed around vigorously, confidently saying:

”It smells just like the forest where I once lived; it’s a real forest.

The teleportation array shouldn’t have malfunctioned, possibly transporting us randomly to a forest on the continent?”

”Can’t rule out that possibility. You’ve got a good nose, but maybe hold off on sniffing next time,” Yang Yu said, ”We have Lotcar on our side, better utilize your excellent vision.”

Iyas responded with an ”Oh”, and while holding his bows and arrows, he scanned his surroundings vigilantly.

Bai Jin wove several surveillance magics.

Before she could toss them into the sky to investigate the surroundings, Lotcar swayed his head, ears trembling, catching the rustling sounds within the forest.

”Something’s coming.”

Qiuye crouched defensively, as He Meng leapt off Bai Jin’s shoulder, transforming into a human form, and both prepared themselves.

As an outstanding elf warrior, Iyas possessed over sixty years of hunting experience. In such a dense forest, his keen vision immediately caught the moving shadows within the jungle,

”It’s a magic beast! It looks like a tiger, but also like a hound!”

Upon hearing Iyas’s words, Bai Jin swiftly spread magic power around, detecting the general situation around them.

Dozens of strong magic beasts, having surrounded them unnoticed.

A dozen beasts suddenly accelerated. In an eye blink, they dashed out of the forest, claws bared, lunging toward Yang Yu.

The approaching monsters were roughly over two meters long and more than a meter high, resembling hounds used for hunting, but with orange and black coats and tiger-like stripes.

These beasts weren’t native to this world; they originated from the Demon World. They are called A Ke Tiger Dogs.

The sharp teeth and claws of A Ke Tiger Dogs rapidly neared Iyas and the others. Iyas drew his bow, took a deep breath, releasing a powerful Holy Light that stirred waves after waves.

The attacking A Ke Tiger Dogs were instantly blown away by the Holy Light waves. Iyas released the bowstring, and four Light Arrows shot from his hand, dividing mid-air into eight and mercilessly pinned eight A Ke Tiger Dogs onto nearby tall trees.

Four A Ke Tiger Dogs broke free from the Light Arrows and roared as they charged toward Bai Jin. Bai Jin flicked her wand, spawning several Frost Ice Arrows in front of her, which instantly shattered the approaching A Ke Tiger Dogs, freezing them to the ground.

The remaining A Ke Tiger Dogs together lunged at Qiuye, who calmly held his beloved blade horizontally,

”[Wind-breaking Style. Secret Technique. Formless].”

Qiuye’s blade swung faster than the eye could see, looking as if it had sliced, yet the knife was already sheathed.

The imperceptible slashes instantly segmented several approaching A Ke Tiger Dogs.

One A Ke Tiger Dog seized the moment of Qiuye’s attack finish and stiffness, launching sideways at him.

Amidst impending danger, a water bullet precisely hit that A Ke Tiger Dog, and the blue fluid rapidly expanded, entangling it like octopus tentacles.

With a backward leg kick from Lotcar, ”Bang—” he sent the attacking A Ke Tiger Dog flying against a tree.

The impact against the tree elicited a muffled grunt from the A Ke Tiger Dog, leaving it lifeless.

Despite Iyas and their swift actions, the lingering A Ke Tiger Dogs didn’t retreat but instead growled menacingly one after another, darting from the woods, persistently attacking Bai Jin and the others.

Bai Jin sensed the increasing number of surrounding A Ke Tiger Dogs from dozens to over two hundred without realizing.

As the situation intensified, Yang Yu suddenly found himself atop a tree.

Yang Yu greeted the team:

”I need to verify something deep within the jungle. I’m counting on you here for now.”

Without further explanation, Yang Yu leapt energetically, swiftly traversing through the forest, disappearing without a trace.

Bai Jin and the others didn’t harbor any complaints, watched Yang Yu leave, and continued focusing on handling the A Ke Tiger Dogs.

In the woods, a Green Giant draped in tiger skin scratched his head, looking puzzled,

”Why would he leave the team and head straight towards me?

Is it coincidence? Or has my whereabouts been exposed?

Forget it, since he’s coming alone, let me make sure he dies without a grave.”

The Green Giant chuckled snidely, the eyes beneath the tiger skin ridiculed Yang Yu’s ignorance and arrogance.

The Green Giant stood up, revealing his muscular stature, adorned with blue spells, his tiger skin suddenly bristled, and strands of fur detached, expanding in mid-air until they transformed into A Ke Tiger Dogs.

Those attacking Bai Jin and the others were not real A Ke Tiger Dogs, but ones made by the Green Giant using magic and the fur of A Ke Tiger Dogs.

With A Ke Tiger Dog fur boundless, attacks on Bai Jin and the others wouldn’t stop until they were completely exhausted.

Some unexpected outcome emerged from his plan, to fix this ”unexpected”, the Green Giant injected more magic into the A Ke Tiger Dog fur.

The surrounding A Ke Tiger Dogs began to display the same spells as those on the Green Giant, rapidly growing and standing up, transforming into burly werewolf figures.

The Green Giant never resorted to overwhelming numbers against the few, favoring one-versus-many battles where showcasing power was his stage, yearning to demonstrate his prowess.

These A Ke Tiger Dogs were merely transformed by his abilities, his subordinates rather than a match of numbers against few.

”Originally, I wanted to use an endless beast tide to drain you to exhaustion and then tear you to pieces.

Unexpectedly, you managed to see through my plan so quickly.

However...

Venturing here solo is the most foolish decision you’ve made.

Securing your life paves my path to glory, you’ll merely become the stepping stone beneath my feet!”

The werewolf-shaped A Ke Tiger Dogs perked their ears, catching the rustle of leaves in the forest, baring their sharp teeth, and growing razor-sharp claws longer.

Frenzied by Yang Yu’s approach, A Ke Tiger Dogs drooled uncontrollably.

As their eyes finally glimpsed Yang Yu, these werewolf-shaped A Ke Tiger Dogs eagerly ascended nearby trees, furiously pouncing towards Yang Yu’s direction.
