The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Amadeus Yancey casually picked up a strawberry and handed it to the Girl. ”I’ll go back with you.”

Nathalie Quinlan had just been about to glance at him out of the corner of her eye.

Amadeus Yancey very calmly pulled out his all‑purpose excuse. ”I’m taking Edric back.”

”...”

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t say anything else, pulled back her Line of sight, and tacitly accepted that he’d be going back with herself.

Nicholas Fuller had somehow heard the Message that Nathalie Quinlan was leaving and asked her out to meet once.

In a café inside the Intercontinental Hotel.

Nicholas Fuller arrived first.

Nathalie Quinlan and Amadeus Yancey arrived afterward.

Nicholas Fuller wasn’t surprised to see the two of them come. After People sit down, he first ordered two cups of Coffee, and after Amadeus Yancey Sit down he called the waiter over again and ordered a glass of orange juice.

Very quickly, two cups of Coffee + one glass of orange juice were brought over.

Amadeus Yancey placed both Coffees on his own side and very naturally set the orange juice in front of the Girl, his voice warm. ”Drink this.”

”Mm.”

Nathalie Quinlan wrapped her hand around the glass and, straw between her lips, took a lazy sip, seemingly already used to the man interfering in her everyday life.

Nicholas Fuller took this scene in with his Eyes and had a pretty good idea in his Heart.

He himself didn’t drink Coffee; he’d ordered a cup of Maofeng tea. The Maofeng leaves rose and fell in the white porcelain cup, looking quite poetic.

Nicholas Fuller’s graying Hair was meticulously combed back, revealing a face that wasn’t particularly striking but, tempered by time, was extremely steady and wise.

He picked up the teacup in front of him, lowered his head to take a sip of Tea, then set the cup back down again. His gaze landed on the Girl as he slowly spoke. ”Nathalie, you’re going back to Beijing on Saturday? It’s confirmed?”

Nathalie Quinlan knew him well, so her posture was quite relaxed when she spoke. She lounged back in her seat, one hand propping up her head, the Duckbill Cap pulled low so that only those dark, beautiful eyes showed. ”Mm, I’m going back to see the old man.”

Nicholas Fuller looked at her.

Nathalie Quinlan let her hand drop, leaning back in her seat as she said in a slow voice, ”The elders at home aren’t in great health. I haven’t been back in a few months. I happen to be free around this time, so I’m going back to check on them.”

”Also, I still have some things on my plate I need to go back and take care of.”

The Maybelissa and Beijing Institute of Scientific Research Cooperation chip project still needed herself to help with the handover in the middle. Sadam Vinson could technically do the handover with Khendy Lordon’s side, but with Khendy Lordon’s damn personality, Sadam Vinson probably wouldn’t be able to get it done. So from the very Start, what Nathalie Quinlan had in mind was to personally go back once, do the handover with Stanley Zachmann and Jackson Wafford’s side, and save both sides from wasting time.

Nicholas Fuller didn’t ask what business she had. He just nodded and said, ”About that matter of my heir, have you made up your mind?”

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t expected him to bring this up even with Amadeus Yancey there. She glanced at him, a hint of thought in her Eyes. ”I’m still considering it.”

Nicholas Fuller smiled and couldn’t help scolding her. ”You... do you have any idea how many people are begging to get this position?”

Nathalie Quinlan lazily slanted him a look and shot back, ”Do you have any idea how many people are begging me to take over for them?”

She’d only meant it as a joke.

Amadeus Yancey, however, couldn’t help the curve of his thin lips. In a very protective tone, he picked up his Coffee, took a sip, set it down again, and said to Nicholas Fuller with refined elegance, ”She’s right. Just over in Beijing, there are already quite a few people waiting—the Pinecone Group, Mr. Norton, Mr. Avalon, and Master Cadmus... Mm, if you want in on this, you might actually have to get in line.”

”...”

The Temples at the sides of Nicholas Fuller’s forehead throbbed. He glared at him in fury, clearly wanting to curse him out, but held it back through sheer Tolerance for the sake of his status.

Right then, Nathalie Quinlan received a phone call from Audrick Zachmann. She stood up and said to the two of them, ”I’m going out to take a phone call.”
