The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1046: Chapter 1046: The Sound of a Slap on the Face

The Golden Pavilion Hotel is extremely grand, even taller than the tallest hotel in Beijing.

@ilovebeingskinny arranged rooms for them on the 33rd floor, with all 6 rooms located on the same floor, essentially reserving the entire floor for them.

The suite consists of three rooms including the bedroom, as well as a dedicated reception room and a living room, which are extremely luxurious.

Jackson Wafford, though accustomed to seeing the world, still couldn’t help but be dazzled and silently marveled when he entered the suite reserved by Nathalie Quinlan’s friend.

No wonder people from the Upper circle in Beijing say that if you’re talking about money, the Illegal Zone is the global hub of wealth!

And this isn’t even the best room in the Golden Pavilion Hotel; just one glance around the suite revealed numerous antiques decorated around the room.

Each one carries a hefty price tag.

The amenities in the suite are definitely worth the exorbitant nightly room rate!

Stella Iversen and the others quietly gathered in his room after setting down their luggage, while the other professors had already had their eyes dazzled by the luxury of the suite and were still befuddled.

Only Stella Iversen felt uneasy in her heart, taking advantage of Nathalie Quinlan’s absence while putting away luggage, she sourly commented, ”The rooms here aren’t cheap, huh? How does she know such people? I heard that not everybody can just stay at the Golden Pavilion Hotel, her friend booked an entire floor of suites in one go, it’s unreasonable! I also heard Nathalie Quinlan say she wants to repay her friend for the room charge, she’s just a freshman from McKinney, how can she have so much money?”

Her comment, though shared with a Physics professor whom she had a good relationship with earlier, now fell on deaf ears as she stood alone rambling.

After all, they’ve already checked in, and griping about a student’s possibly dubious source of money now seemed quite low.

Jackson Wafford, not wanting to give her face, looking displeased, directly retorted, ”Professor Iversen, if you’re not reassured, you can choose not to stay.”

”...” Stella Iversen, stung by his words, almost couldn’t catch her breath, her face extremely embarrassed and even somewhat perplexed.

She was just making a casual remark, the principal truly goes the extra mile to protect that freshman!

Recalling what Adelle Wafford had previously told her, Stella held back her annoyance, diverted the conversation, stood straight with her feet together, a stern face: ”Just now that... @ilovebeingskinny said people from the Arbitration Committee would come find us themselves, it’s been a while, and yet no one has come up.”

Jackson Wafford, not wanting to deal with her, went to pour himself a glass of water, letting the other professors take their seats first.

While drinking water, he slowly spoke to Stella Iversen, ”If they can afford to host us at the Golden Pavilion, there’s no need for them to lie to us. Why would they lie, just so that the moment we don’t see someone, we’d go cause a fuss?”

Stella Iversen, rebuffed twice by him, could no longer save face, tightened her hand hanging by her side, clenched her teeth, and said gravely, ”Principal, I was just asking, you don’t need to be so emotional, do you?”

Jackson Wafford, holding back due to her role as an educator, and having shown extra forbearance and tolerance all the way, raised an eyebrow as he was about to speak.

Then a polite knocking sound echoed from the doorway.

He put down the glass, glanced at Stella Iversen, then walked over and opened the door to the hallway.

”Hello, are you part of the Tsinghua University team?”

Standing at the door was a forty-something foreign man with blonde hair and blue eyes, dressed in a well-ironed, snug suit, the double-breasted suit making him look elegant, with excellent comportment.
