The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1035: Chapter 1035: The Promised Person Didn’t Come

”This student is one of Professor Adelle’s prized pupils and has a good relationship with Professor Adelle. It was entirely due to Professor Adelle and Professor Iversen that we could contact this student. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so easy for us to hand over the documents to the Arbitration Committee.”

”Hmm.” Nathalie Quinlan merely lifted her eyelids upon hearing this, and the phone in her hand buzzed twice, indicating incoming messages.

She didn’t look at it immediately, just glanced at it with the corner of her eye.

A message from @ilovebeingskinny.

Asking if she was joking about going to the Illegal Zone yesterday, what time her flight was, along with a bunch of nonsense and emojis.

Nathalie Quinlan did not reply immediately, she put down her phone, leaned back on the sofa, and took a small sip from the coffee on the table.

The coffee was invigorating; after a few sips, she didn’t feel as sleepy anymore.

However, she hadn’t slept well last night, and it was crowded on the airplane, so she couldn’t sleep at all, only managed to rest her eyes for a few hours, which was as good as not sleeping. Thus, she pulled up the hood of her sweater, stretched her arm across the armrest of the sofa, and slouched there, looking as relaxed as if she were on a vacation.

Apart from Stella Iversen, the other three professors from Tsinghua University had heard of Nathalie Quinlan, the new star of the Chinese Medicine department, and were quite curious about her.

Seeing that she didn’t talk much along the way and was a rather quiet girl, they had a favorable impression of her.

...

Just then, Stella Iversen, who had gone out to make a phone call, returned.

Her stern face wore a grim expression, she held her phone, and her strides were wide, briskly walking over like the wind.

Seeing her expression, everyone’s hearts couldn’t help but sink.

”Professor Iversen, how did it go?” Jackson Wafford was the first to stand up and ask her.

”Not great!”

Stella Iversen picked up the coffee from the table, gulped it down, put the cup back on the table with a stern face and hurried speech: ”Hugo Sullivan told us to wait for now; he doesn’t have time to come over yet as he’s hosting a very important guest.”

Hugo Sullivan was a student from Tsinghua University.

He majored in Professor Adelle’s clinical program and minored in IT computer science, Professor Iversen’s specialty.

In fact, aside from being Professor Adelle’s student, Hugo Sullivan was also one of Professor Iversen’s outstanding students.

She came to the Illegal Zone full of confidence, convinced that her student would definitely be able to help.

However, just now she had to call several times before the other party agreed to answer, and after connecting, they kept stalling. Despite her persuasion, they only vaguely told them to wait.

But wait until when? The other party did not provide her with a clear answer.

Jackson Wafford did not expect such a situation either, he frowned, pressed his temples, pursed his lips, and asked the critical question: ”Did he say how long it will take for him to come over?”

Professor Iversen, feeling she had lost face, turned her head away, her expression growing even more troubled: ”...He didn’t say.”

Another professor couldn’t help saying: ”So are we just supposed to sit here and wait? Who knows how long that will take.”

After all, it wasn’t about whether they wanted to wait here, but if they didn’t hurry to submit the documents proving Stanley Zachmann’s case to the Arbitration Committee, after the time limit, those documents would undoubtedly become useless scraps of paper.

”What else can we do if we don’t wait? We don’t know anyone on the Arbitration Committee!” Stella Iversen, visibly upset by the questioning, grew increasingly distressed. She picked up her phone, stood up, and said: ”...I’ll call Professor Wafford again. See if Professor Wafford can talk to him. If all else fails, we might have to contact Caryn Zachmann, as Hugo Sullivan has a good relationship with Caryn.”
