The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1010: Chapter 1010: Are you talking about Nathalie Quinlan??

Emilia Sullivan was dumbfounded, it took her a long while to come back to her senses: ”Pinecone Group is asking us to pay for the breach of contract penalty from before?”

Her mind went blank for a second, furrowing her brows, her first reaction was to chase after Jeff Quinlan and ask: ”Why? They never mentioned the penalty for breach before. It’s been so long since the matter, why suddenly bring up the penalty now?”

Back then in McKinney, when Pinecone Group and Quinlan Family Estates separated, many loopholes were discovered in the contracted construction funds.

At that time, they were living in constant fear every day, afraid that Pinecone Group would pursue the matter, after all, the contract signed between the companies contained clauses about compensation for breaches.

If they really had to compensate, they would have to pay a large sum of money.

Strangely enough, Pinecone Group never brought up the matter of breach compensation and quickly cut ties cleanly, no longer cooperating with them and didn’t trouble them further.

It has been over half a year, why is Pinecone Group suddenly asking them for compensation money.

Jeff Quinlan was more awake than her, seeing her still bewildered and unclear about the situation, he glanced in the direction of Ghania Quinlan’s hospital room, drew back his gaze, and seemed to age ten years. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he said in a deep voice: ”Think about who we might have recently offended.”

”Who could we have offended...” Emilia Sullivan was about to say that they are now living in McKinney very cautiously, who could they have offended.

Then, a thought struck her mind.

Her face turned the color of liver, her fingertips trembling with either anger or fear, trying hard to control her emotions: ”Are you talking about Nathalie Quinlan?”

They haven’t offended anyone, if really pushed, only Ghania offended Nathalie Quinlan.

Emilia Sullivan was rooted to the spot, so furious that all her blood rushed to her head, her vision darkened, she almost fainted: ”She caused Ghania to end up like this, and she still dares to pull strings behind the scenes, is she even human, at such a young age, how can her heart be so malicious! If I had known she was...”

”Enough!” Jeff Quinlan did not want to hear her rant, sternly stopped her, took a deep breath, and continued: ”Pinecone Group has already calculated the penalty amount, a total of thirty-seven million, and they will start the financial procedures to reclaim it from us starting tomorrow. If we can’t pay back the money within a month, they will take legal action. Instead of wasting time talking about useless things, think about how we can gather this money.”

Thirty-seven million, for Quinlan Family Estates, which almost succeeded in going public before, was not a big sum, they could definitely manage if they bit the bullet.

Otherwise, previously Ghania attended a prestigious school, took piano lessons from famous teachers, their family even bought a villa, hired servants... Every item cost a significant amount of money.

Not to mention, both Emilia Sullivan and Cindy Lawrence were accustomed to luxury, occasionally visiting high-end malls, buying jewelry, and handbags at brand boutiques.

Previously, a single bag for Emilia Sullivan cost hundreds of thousands.

Quinlan Family lived entirely a wealthy lifestyle.

Ever since Nathalie Quinlan had a falling out with the family, Pinecone Group terminated their cooperation with them overnight, and the days of Quinlan Family Estates became increasingly difficult.

The company, which almost went public before, in just one year, was almost turning into a small local company in McKinney.

Jeff Quinlan had recently begged high and low to leverage old relationships to secure a small project, reconstructing an old school district.

Previously, with the backing of Pinecone Group like a big tree, they wouldn’t even glance at such projects, as they had more resources from Pinecone Group than they could use. Now, however, they had to beg others for opportunities, showing how difficult the company’s position was.
