The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 650: Chapter 650: Nathalie’s Layers of Disguise Fall Away_1

Adelia Tucker didn’t answer directly, only saying, ”I’ve had a friendship with her for decades, and when I heard her health was deteriorating, she invited me to meet, so I went out to see her. I had no idea she was going to send me an invitation.”

”I’ve met the Quinlan girl before, Ghania Quinlan’s grades were average, and with her initial performance, it would have been difficult to even get into a first-tier university. But unexpectedly, in this joint exam, she got into Tsinghua University, which was quite surprising.”

”Tsinghua University is indeed a good school, but Grandma, didn’t you say before that you would no longer get involved with the Quinlan family? Even if Ghania Quinlan got into Tsinghua, you didn’t need to go...”

Enrico Tucker snorted dismissively. He had met Ghania Quinlan too, and, how should he put it, she was pretentious and overly ambitious. He didn’t think her getting into Tsinghua would amount to much. With poor aptitude yet high ambition, such a person is the most prone to take a hard fall after climbing high.

Adelia Tucker picked up the teacup from the table, took a sip of water to moisten her throat, before lifting her head and looking at him to say, ”You don’t know. It’s said that Ivy Wilmar thinks highly of her, and for her college celebration banquet, Ivy invited quite a few people. Many families from Beijing will also be attending... Given the Tucker family’s recent difficult situation, if we can get on good terms with these Beijing families, it may not be a bad way out...”

She was quite hesitant about this privately.

After the incident with Hendra Wafford and then taking a big fall at the birthday banquet at Waterfront Pavilion, she was truly scared and didn’t want to provoke Nathalie Quinlan again.

If she didn’t want to provoke Nathalie Quinlan, she absolutely had to draw a clear line between herself and the bunch at the Quinlan family.

But the Tucker family had been under a lot of pressure in the past six months, with nothing going smoothly, from business to the professional field. In these six months, her originally white hair had turned snow-white, reflecting how tough times had been.

She, too, wanted to get out of her predicament and restore the former glory of the Tucker family.

As Adelia Tucker wavered, she sat there idly sipping water, eyes downcast, pondering whether she should go.

Then Enrico Tucker’s phone rang.

He answered the call and said ”Hello” to the person on the other end. Whatever that person said, his expression grew complicated as he passed the phone to the exhausted elder on the sofa.

”Grandma, it’s Nadya Tucker on the phone. She asked me to give it to you.”

”Nadya’s call?”

Nadya Tucker was the new hope of the Tucker family, and Adelia Tucker had high hopes for her. Hearing Nadya’s name, she revealed a rare smile, took the phone from Enrico, and held it to her ear.

”Hello?”

Nadya cut to the chase and briefly mentioned her encounter with Nathalie Quinlan in Beijing while tagging along in an event hosted by Sadam Vinson, then emphasized the fact that Candice Yancey came over later and invited them to dinner that evening.

At the end, she directly told her grandmother that Nathalie Quinlan was not to be trifled with. She saw very clearly that night that the likes of Sadam Vinson and Candice Yancey all revered Nathalie Quinlan. That group was the most core and powerful circle in Beijing. With Nathalie entering their circle and being so revered, regardless of her own background, with these people around, they all had to treat her like a deity!

Furthermore, she mentioned to Adelia that Shawn Norton had taken on a student, something that was the talk of Beijing, stating that Norton had acknowledged at the birthday party that he had taken a student.

A student.

A student named Nathalie Quinlan!

From McKinney, currently in her senior year of high school!

She stopped just short of saying outright that this Nathalie Quinlan and the other were one and the same, leaving room for Adelia to figure it out on her own.

After hanging up on Nadya’s call, Adelia Tucker fell silent for a long while, then handed the phone back to Enrico with no trace of her previous hesitation on her face. Looking at the big red invitation lying on the table, she instructed Enrico in a calm voice, ”Tell Grandma Lawrence I am sick. As for Ghania Quinlan’s college celebration banquet, our family will not be attending!”
