The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 627: Chapter 627: It’s Okay to Take Students_1

Caryn Zachmann had also learned this style of fusion, perhaps because the type of music was more orthodox, not as freewheeling as underground rock, he always felt something was missing.

It lacked a certain flavor!

It felt a bit like an amateur mimicking a professional.

Govert Griffin saw that he wasn’t moved by Caryn Zachmann’s piano piece, smacking his lips before confidently looking back at the stage and saying, ”Mr. Vinson, you’re too demanding. I actually think Ms. Zachmann’s arrangement this time is outstanding; Mr. Norton is sure to like it.”

Sadam Vinson noticed that Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t come back to her seat yet.

He rested his hand on his leg, replying nonchalantly, ”Let’s wait and see.”

Onstage, as Caryn Zachmann played the last note, a fine layer of sweat formed on her back, but after finishing, she became even more confident, and the anxiety that had filled her all day finally settled down.

Below was a tidal wave of applause.

Celine Tucker’s well-maintained graceful face showed a proud expression as she stood up with everyone else to applaud.

Caryn’s performance was so successful that even on a formal stage, her entire playing process could be considered flawless.

Sure enough, someone asked for the opinion of the old man below.

”Mr. Norton, what do you think?”

Shawn Norton sat there, unfazed, raising his eyebrows and looking at him, ”What about what?”

”Caryn’s performance, what do you think of it?” that person asked with a smile.

Shawn Norton, eyes to nose and nose to heart, wasn’t as captivated as others had speculated, but simply gave a lukewarm critique, ”Not bad. For her age, her skills are already quite impressive, better than mine when I was young. However, music isn’t just about technique; the ability to move the audience is also very important, and that’s slightly lacking.”

”That’s Mr. Norton for you. I thought it sounded pretty good, I didn’t even notice the details you mentioned. Only a master could have such insightful analysis.”

As he spoke, he turned and asked, ”Mr. Norton, since even you think Caryn’s performance was not bad, and you’ve been searching for a student you’d like, why not consider it?”

The speaker had a good relationship with the Zachmann family; Celine Tucker had approached him to act as a middleman, and he dutifully steered the conversation towards the topic of accepting a student.

Most of the people attending the birthday party were focused on this topic, and once someone explicitly brought it up, everyone’s attention was drawn to it.

Everyone held their breath, waiting for the elder seated at the head of the main table to speak.

Caryn’s arrangement was indeed good, and so was her playing. Everyone agreed with Govert Griffin’s assessment and believed that Shawn Norton would relent and take on a student this time.

Caryn Zachmann, too, clenched her skirt hem, abandoning her usual pride and showing rare nervousness.

But who would have thought, Shawn Norton simply glanced at the stage and shook his head, directly declining, ”Taking on a student? Forget it, I’m too old and have limited energy.”

Without waiting for the other party to persuade further.

He dropped a bombshell, ”I’ve already found the student I was looking for. When she enters university, I’ll start teaching her.”

Nathalie Quinlan was always going to Tsinghua University, majoring in Chinese Medicine with a minor in the Music Department, and sooner or later, someone would unveil her, so Shawn Norton decided to make it public now.

”Mr. Norton has found a student?”

”Damn, I hadn’t heard about this before. Have you?”

”I haven’t heard either.”

Someone uttered their heartfelt thoughts.

”If Mr. Norton has a student, then what’s the point of today’s hustle among these people! I thought Caryn Zachmann would certainly catch Mr. Norton’s eye. What a pity.”
