The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 648: Chapter 648: Mr. Norton, You Can Stop Thinking About It_1

Ghania Quinlan looked up, her hand tightening, and stayed silent: ”...”

However, Emilia Sullivan smiled with a hint of pride, and her gaze turned towards her, filled with arrogance, ”That’s right, Ghania got into Tsinghua University, while that Nathalie Quinlan couldn’t even touch the door of Tsinghua and still has to take the college entrance exam in three months. With her grades, even if she’s given another three months, she wouldn’t possibly get into a university like Tsinghua; at most, she could get into a third-tier university. I think even a third-tier university would be difficult for her!”

”It’s better if she doesn’t get in,” Ivy Wilmar spoke with disdain and then said to Ghania Quinlan, ”About Mr. Norton’s matter...”

Ghania Quinlan suddenly looked up, gazing at her.

Ivy Wilmar pressed her brow, visibly annoyed, paused for a second, and then continued, ”You shouldn’t think about Mr. Norton anymore!”

That sentence was like passing a death sentence to Ghania Quinlan!

Ghania Quinlan felt her heart sinking.

Ivy Wilmar had no intention to comfort her, her cold gaze falling on her as she informed her, ”There will be many foreign music masters besides Mr. Norton at the exchange meeting in half a month, such as Master Steven, who’s related to your piano. Perform well, and you can still find yourself a decent teacher.”

It was a fallback strategy, as well as a choice of last resort.

How could Ghania be willing to accept this? Biting her lip, she looked up unwillingly into her eyes and softly pleaded, ”Aunt, can’t I give it another try with Mr. Norton? What if I perform well and Mr. Norton thinks I have musical talent and is willing to mentor me...”

”Impossible,” Ivy Wilmar cut off her words directly, terse and to the point. She was not blinded by hate; she was calmer than Ghania Quinlan, crossed her arms, and said, ”Mr. Norton is not the kind of person who takes disciples lightly. Years ago, he preferred to hide abroad rather than take on disciples; how could he possibly take you on just because you have a bit of musical talent now? He has already chosen his successor and even introduced him publicly at the birthday party. That means he’s set on Nathalie Quinlan, and it’s not going to change! Instead of fixating on him, you should broaden your horizons. There are many famous musicians internationally, not just Mr. Norton. If you insist on putting all your eggs in one basket, you’ll end up losing everything. You know this principle without me having to teach you again...”

Ghania Quinlan hung her head low, unable to utter a word, but her eyes were swirling with strong dissatisfaction, and the rims of her eyes turned slightly red.

Who doesn’t know that there are other music masters internationally? Shawn Norton stands out in China, but not so much abroad.

But to become a disciple of Shawn Norton is not just to gain the benefits of learning from a master, but more importantly, it’s to wear the halo of being the master’s apprentice.

No matter how good those international music masters are, which one of them has Shawn Norton’s expansive connections in China?

What she wanted was to successfully enter the upper circle of Beijing, not to study music!

Ivy Wilmar was more than aware of this. Before seeing the video, she might have used the Wilmar family’s name to fight for Ghania Quinlan, but after seeing the online video, she knew there was no going back. Even if she didn’t like Nathalie Quinlan and even hated and despised her, she had to admit that Nathalie played the Konghou well. The piece seemed to come alive under her fingers, embodying the clashing of swords and the rush of horses, the joy of vengeance...

Isn’t evoking resonance in the audience the highest realm of music?

Ghania Quinlan was still fixated on learning techniques.

Yet, Nathalie had reached a higher level, combining technique with the ability to evoke empathy with her music.

On that alone, Ghania Quinlan couldn’t achieve the same even with five more years of practice!

However, it was fortunate that Ghania Quinlan had a talent for composition; her arrangement was indeed brilliant. She thought it was a piano piece, suited only for piano, but she had not expected it to sound even better when played on the Konghou.
