The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 605: Chapter 605: Seeing a Familiar Figure_1

She also needed to call Shawn Norton to let him know she had arrived at the hotel and to ask what time and where they would be eating tomorrow.

Before long, he sent her a location, as if fearing she couldn’t find it herself, and thoughtfully marked both the name and the location of the clubhouse.

Nathalie Quinlan glanced at it and saw that it was indeed not far from her hotel, just across the street.

She placed her phone back on the table, took a sip of water, screwed the cap back on, and went to blow dry her hair and change her clothes.

Half an hour later, outside a clubhouse on Penny Parkway.

Zayn Fisher followed behind Zeus Tanzil and, just after getting out of the car, saw the dazzling luxury cars parked in the parking lot.

He couldn’t help but lower his voice and say, ”There’s no shortage of nice cars at Rivendell today.”

Today was the birthday of a mutual friend of him and Zeus Tanzil, who had arranged a birthday party at Rivendell, so they had come together.

When he said a mutual friend, it actually meant someone from the top-tier second-generation circle in Beijing who he got to know by hanging onto Zeus Tanzil.

Having grown up in Beijing, Zeus had been immersed in circles different from Zayn’s, and he could tell at a glance whose car was whose.

”Those are Mr. Vinson’s crowd’s cars. They’re probably at Rivendell today as well.”

”Oh, I see.”

Zayn Fisher had heard from Zeus about Beijing’s circles a few times.

He knew of Sadam Vinson’s group, who were a few years older than them and mixed in a different second-generation circle, where those people actually held real power.

The circle that Zeus currently socialized with couldn’t compare to that crowd.

Though Zayn envied them, he knew he didn’t weigh enough to touch that kind of circle, and his gaze moved away from the row of luxury cars as he followed Zeus into Rivendell.

Rivendell boasted a serene environment with elegant and tasteful decorations, and the sound of trickling water was audible as soon as one entered.

As they walked along, Zeus spoke to him about their plans for the next day: ”You have classes tomorrow morning, right? I have to attend a private dinner party tomorrow and probably won’t be able to go to school. Can you help me ask for leave?”

Zayn knew the private dinner he mentioned was Mr. Norton’s birthday, which he had heard about from Derliand Gober, but he wasn’t qualified to be invited. Hearing that Zeus was going, he replied somewhat absentmindedly, ”Sure, I’ll mention it to the professor for you.”

”Thanks,” Zeus said, thanking him as he moved ahead.

Zayn, following beside him, felt a bit downhearted. As he was lost in thought, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure entering from the corner of his eye.

Nathalie Quinlan?

He stopped in his tracks, slightly taken aback.

He rubbed his eyes and, looking again, the figure had already turned the corner and disappeared. It seemed as if he had been seeing things, as if no one had passed by at all.

Zayn’s lips were pressed tightly together as he couldn’t make up his mind.

However, Zeus noticed he had suddenly stopped and turned around to ask, ”What’s wrong? Why did you stop all of a sudden?”

While speaking, he looked in the direction Zayn had been gazing, his eyes filled with confusion.

”I saw someone I know.”

Clutching his fists and feeling a bit lost, Zayn remembered talking about his interest in Nathalie Quinlan at the dinner table; his heart tightened, and he forced a smile with a complex expression. ”I must have been mistaken. She wouldn’t come to a place like this.”

Rivendell was no ordinary place; this private clubhouse was of extremely high class, and he only got to know about it and gained access by hanging out with Zeus Tanzil afterward.

It was utterly impossible for Nathalie Quinlan to know of a place like Rivendell, let alone come to Rivendell to hang out.
