The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 628: Chapter 628: Previously Never Found the Right Opportunity to Make it Public _1

”Yes. Caryn’s arrangement this time wasn’t bad, I actually thought Mr. Norton would take an interest in her, but he didn’t.”

”After preparing so meticulously for so long, only to find out that Mr. Norton already had a favored student in mind, it’s such a face slap. So what was her performance on stage just now, making a monkey out of herself?”

”You can’t blame Mr. Norton though—they were willing to go up there, even if he never mentioned taking on apprentices.”

”Caryn really lost face big time this time!”

...

The murmuring voices around her, like a curse, kept streaming into the girl’s ears. Caryn’s face color was extremely unpleasant as she gripped the hem of her skirt with her hands, blush forming at the corners of her eyes, and her face bloating to the color of liver. If it weren’t for the pride ingrained in her bones that supported her and didn’t allow her to bow her head, she would have almost cried out.

How could Mr. Norton possibly have an apprentice?

She had never heard of it!

Celine Tucker had the same reaction; her hands clung tightly to her purse, and with a swoosh, she stood up, disregarding the onlookers around her who were waiting for a show. With a tense face, she managed to say, ”Mr. Norton, we’ve never heard about you having a favored student before. How could it suddenly—”

Shawn Norton, seeing it was her and remembering her relationship with Mr. Zachmann, and considering the layer of friendship, was relatively gentle. He suffered his impatience and said, ”It’s not so sudden. I’ve been wanting to make this public before but never found the right opportunity.”

”At my age, mentoring one student is challenging enough; I definitely don’t have the energy to guide anyone else.”

He glanced over at Caryn, who stood there not knowing what to do. His gray hair full of vitality and his face hale and hearty—it didn’t seem like he had the limited energy he spoke of. Instead, he looked more like someone who wasn’t willing to take on an additional person.

”Caryn plays the piano quite well. My own piano skills are mediocre; teaching her would only hold her back. How about this, I know a few internationally renowned piano masters—they, like me, are looking for promising students.”

He looked kindly with his eyebrows and eyes at someone beside him: ”I remember you just told me she passed professional level eight in piano?”

”Yes, Miss Zachmann passed professional level eight in piano last year,” the person beside him nodded and said.

”Hmm, that’s good,” Shawn Norton lifted his head and looked again in Caryn’s direction: ”There aren’t many your age who would pass professional level eight, I’ll recommend you to them when the time comes, and I’m sure there will be someone among them willing to teach you.”

Honestly, this result wasn’t bad.

Shawn Norton’s status in the music world has always been esteemed, and even abroad, he is of master level.

Those who know him and whom he calls piano masters are undoubtedly skilled at the international level and are not just any ordinary Tom, Dick, or Harry.

Without his recommendation, Caryn definitely couldn’t get in touch with them.

Others who had initially mocked Caryn for busying herself for nothing now had faces of envy and jealousy, casting admiring glances in her direction.

Caryn’s face color eased a bit, but she was still pale as paper, because, after all, her aim was Shawn Norton, not some international piano master.

The international piano masters may have a respectable reputation, but back home, neither their fame nor their standing could compare with that of Shawn Norton’s.

She had already become a brilliant student at Tsinghua University, and was personally mentored by Adelle Wafford, the domestic authority in neurosurgery.

If she could also become a student of Shawn Norton, her standing in the circle would soar even higher and become even more exceptional.

What she wanted was not merely to learn piano; it was more about the people and the interests tied to piano playing in the background—these things weren’t something simple fame could compensate for!
